Just the carbon filter & pre filter are washable? Can you just vacuum them instead?

You could vacuum the pre filter instead of washing but don’t expect it to do much for the carbon.

@@HouseFresh do you know if the winix c555 filters they sell at Costco are compatible with the winix 5500-2 machine?
If not, is the c555 machine as good as the 5500-2? I see it has carbon pellets too.

​​⁠just looked and the c555 does seem to be able to use the same filters as the 5500-2. Just be aware that the c545 is a different design and uses smaller filters . Not tested the c555 but expect it will have very similar performance to the 5500-2 based on reported data from winix. If you have a Costco card I would go for it. Tested the winix zero se from the UK Costco and was super impressed with performance to $ ratio!
