They played it live few times. The best one is from S&M2 concert and it's just James with orchestra. The concert was their last one before James went back to rehab. You can see a lot of pain in his eyes there.
Those are the only non good songs on the album lmfao. That Was Just Your Life is literally in the top 10 worst MetallicA songs. Track 2. The End Of The Line is the best song by far even better than All Nightmare Long. Broken, Beat & Scarred, The Judas Kiss, Unforgiven III, Suicide & Redemption, The Day That Never Comes. Those 7 of 10 songs are Masterpieces. That Was Just Your Life, My Apocalypse, Cyanide are way at the bottom. You obviously don't like the album at all or like lhe least quality songs just like my brother always did, lmfao. I could careless what anyone thinks but Death Magnetic is my 5th favorite MetallicA album, Hardwired is 4th and 72 Seasons is 3rd even over ...And Justice For All now.
On point with comments re: Death Magnetic. I love this album. The opening track live (and studio) is a banger. Don't know how James gets through the lyric "Like a fight to live the past I prayed to leave from way back then". It's like an impossible tongue twister to me.
Death Magnetic is definitely a “rebirth” moment, but it also suffers from a lot of forced moments… a lot of the songs don’t feel organic. They addressed that on Hardwired, which is very good save for 2-3 songs that should’ve just been deleted. There is also an EP called “Beyond Magnetic” which contains four songs that didn’t make the Death Magnetic album. A lot of fans are of the view that some of those tracks should have made the album ahead of several other tracks.
