  • Today, we're at Stete/Lake station to hop on a Purple Line train for a full ride to Linden! Yes, yes, I know, it's not a full ride. Yeesh! I'm trying to maximize my time here! I consider this close enough!
This was an interesting ride, with some interesting commentary courtesy of two riders. Nonetheless, the view is great, and we even got some excitement out of it! Just north of Addison station, a trip arm was extended and put our train into emergency braking! The operator had to stop and inspect the train, and presumably reset the brakes, before we could continue.
Keep an eye out for a closer look at that next week! It gives me more time to get detailed with the video, and helps me out with my elevator upload schedule which I'm always behind on! Hah!

You can hear ATS/ATC beeping right before... sounds like operator error

I did notice that, but it beeps so much in normal operation I couldn't find a pattern. Do you think a green signal relay could be stuck somewhere? I didn't see any other signals. Thanks for watching and the insights!

Couldn't be any error from the train operator. The cab signal would've tripped the train itself should it have known that trip arm would be extended and the operator not taking any action, however it couldn't know that since it was facing the opposite direction. The beep was due to a drop in the allowed speed for the upcoming curve to Sheridan.

No problem! @@NTxRE It definitely is an interesting occurrence, not like anything I've seen on the Red and Purple for quite a while now
