Koosje, I’m so glad you are continuing with your videos! I’ve been watching you for years and I have gained so much confidence with my drawing by your contagious enthusiasm for your craft and your encouragement. Thank you!
I love that you say that this pen is not magic, and we don't need to rush and buy it. So refreshing for a RUclipsr! I have been painting with a simple Pilot for about a year, and maybe I'm ready to try something new. But I know that I don't have to. :-)
I am soooo happy to see that you are back with your Draw Tips Tuesday, thank you, I have been following you for years now and you are still very inspiring ! By the way, I have also this Sailor pen and you are giving me more ideas to use it 😊
Always a great Tuesday with a DTT video! Great stuff and motivational as ever. A lot of my now daily drawing/art habit has been from what I've learnt from these videos. Thank you!
I didn't rush out to get this pen. I had ordered it 6 weeks ago but it came today! from Japan! Since it's the same day as this video I see a COSMIC CONNECTION! Thank you!
"Don't have to go and buy one..." LOL! Can't wait to get my hands on one! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've been wanting a fountain pen for art but didn't realize the potential of a calligraphy pen.
Thank you so much for your videos. Your simple and easy instructions inspired me to take up drawing and a whole new world has opened up for me. Thank You and God Bless!
I've had the same pen (and a green one too) and the same ink but forgotten about them for a long time. I just pulled them out and started to draw - after cleaning the nib of course. It was dried out. Thank you for reminding me about them! I love your videos💛💚💙
I have this same pen, and I haven’t had ink in it for awhile, but you have inspired me. Yesterday I got a bottle of De Atramentis Document Urban Grey (waterproof), so I put that in it and stuck it in my sketch kit. I discovered mine isn’t scratchy when reverse writing, so that is a bonus.
This makes me so regretful! I had two fude nibs and just couldn't figure out how to work with them, so I paid them forward. Now this is making me wish I had kept one to just keep playing! This drawing came out so cool, I love it :)
Prachtige pen! De carbon ink heb ik een tijd geleden gekocht nav van een van jouw video's en ik vind 'm geweldig. Ik gebruik het in m'n vulpen en met penseel voor mixed media, zo lekker zwart en watervast! Alsnog bedankt Koosje!
“Scritchy Scratchy”. Love it’s. Sadly Inhad to stop eating at 3:55 because Scritchy Scratchy became more like squeaky black board! I love Platinum carbon Ink, you introduced me to it a few years back and I have loved it since day one.
I had missed Draw Tip Tuesday. Did you separate this from the regular Sketchbook Skool channel? I have a fude nib pen that I love, but rarely use. Thank you for the encouragement.
Glad you found me again! I have taken a break from making these videos but I am back at it on an irregular basis. And yes, I used to post my videos both here and at the Sketchbook skool channel - not anymore. You can simply subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out!
So there are a few different sailor Fude pens. The one you have is the Profit model. There is also the Fude de mannen which is longer and comes in green or dark blue.these have two different angles on the nib. The de mannen model is a little easier to find on eBay or Amazon. I have many Fude pens, I love using them for urban sketching. I agree there is no “magic “ pen, it is the artist that creates the art! Thanks! Btw Fude means “brush” in Japanese..
Great demo, Koosje! Thanks. Also do you have a preference for the gray ink you use in your other fountain pen? I'm using D'Atramentis Document Urban Gray. Thanks.
Permanent ink? Do you clean out the ink every time, after sketching? That is what I have always heard. Just got my first Asvine Fountain pen with a Fude nib. I have been using Waterford ink. Not waterproof. 😖. But, I don’t want to clean my pen out every time. Thank you for your videos!
There is waterproof Ink that’s suitable for fountain pens. So you don’t need to clean out your pen each time. Platinum carbon black ink, Rohrer&Klingner SketchInk, DeAtramentis document ink, Noodler’s ink
Very inspiring! I have one but it often skips on me using cartridge ink and noodlers urban grey. It is a green sailor fude pen. Any idea what is going on?
Dear Heather, there are a few different models of Sailor Fude pens. The one Koosje is using is the “profit” model. The longer green ones, also in dark blue are the Fude de manned” model. If your pen is skipping I would clean it out and refill. Use your pen everyday, that helps to keep them working. Also try dipping the nib in water if it skips and wipe the nib. I teach a comprehensive zoom class about fountain pens.. I have one this coming April 17.. Koosje does a great job inspiring and explaining, she is FABULOUS,
MY FUDE pens always get stuck and clogged. I am constantly running the tip under warm water, or shaking them to get the ink out, whereas when I am watching you pr other urban sketchers it seems effortless....what am I doing wrong?
Carbon ink has a warning that if you don’t use the pen frequently or wash it clean when not in use the ink will clog up the pen and damage it. What’s your experience and practice?
Koosje, I’m so glad you are continuing with your videos! I’ve been watching you for years and I have gained so much confidence with my drawing by your contagious enthusiasm for your craft and your encouragement. Thank you!
I am so happy to read that, Robin!

I’m not an influencer and would never tell you to do or buy anything . Glad you appreciate that.

I have a similar pen same tip. I love it. Koosje you are one of my favorite artist, you are so inspiring to me.

You are indeed an inspiration. Joyful. Thanks.
Wow you are so good.. beautiful.Thank you Koosje.

I love mixing mediums and am so glad you do also - I tend to mix on a whim, so I relate to yours. Thanks for the art pick-me-ups!!!!
I love your enthusiasm for drawing daily.
Your art is so unique and beautiful, keep up the good work!

This video is very inspiring to me. I would love to buy the fountain pan. I learned a lot of things from you. Thank you so much!

Yes!! I love ALL art supplies except oil paint 🤢
Art is my entire life 😻
Your art is lovely and I learnt alot about calligraphy nib pens - thank you 🙏

Ja fijne inkt hè! Wat goed dat jij er ook zo blij mee bent!
Picture Pages... Picture Pages... his pen was Magic. But that was a good tip about leaving the white parts.
Haha true! (I had to look Picture Pages up because I didn’t know who/what it was as I am from the Netherlands)
@@KoosjeKoene oopsies... and I know u are from there.. I am a complete fool. I hang my head in shame.. lol 😆

Oh no I’m sorry it was torture!
@@KoosjeKoene 😂
thank you Koosje, i have the green one, did yo ever try it? Do you know the differences beetwen the two versions?
I never tried the green one but I know a lot of people who have it and I don’t think there’s a different in nib and use.
@@KoosjeKoene thank you!!

Thank you, this is helpful!
Great demo, Koosje! Thanks. Also do you have a preference for the gray ink you use in your other fountain pen? I'm using D'Atramentis Document Urban Gray. Thanks.
I haven’t tried DeAtramentis urban gray but I might. I use the gray ink from Rohrer&Klingner SketchInk now and I like Super5’s gray ink as well.
I'm so glad you demonstrated this pen! Does the pen have a 45 or 55 degree nib? I'm not sure what the difference is.
It’s a 55 degree angle (I think)
Are these pens suitable for left handlers? Love your videos by the way.
I think so... but I am not 100% sure.
Yes!
‘Twas helpful thank you ☺️
You’re welcome 😊
Nice 💖

Hi Koosje, thank you I love your videos very inspirational!
Question: what gray ink do you use? Is it waterproof? Thanks
I use SketchInk by Rohrer & Klingner
Thanks for the video. Would you mind sharing the colors/brands you have in your watercolor palette?
You can find those here: instagram.com/p/-hZAW9t_a-/

I don't know. Have you tried cleaning it? Sometimes that can help.

My pens never clog.
👍👍👍🙏
Please turn up the volume? Thanks.
I love you

I always say don't use pencil, it's too easy to erase the lines. use a pen.
Yes!
