I think this is what street photography should be like. It is all about the streets with people as the toppings. This kind of street photography suits me well. Not too extroverted.
I disagree with your assessment on the last photo. In my opinion, bad composition can be overcome with interesting elements. I think the one on the left with the bird in flight is much more interesting and I was drawn to it over the "good composition" photo. This is my humble opinion... over all I think this was great and and a wonderful vid, thanks for sharing your moments.
Yes indeed we are lucky that the streets are quite clean here... and among center Europe we might be in some of the bests. Shoutout to all the people taking good care of our streets 👏🏻
Great video. Really enjoyed the discussion at the end where you discussed choice and composition. First time I've seen a photographer talk about one image of theirs over the other.
Glad you enjoyed it! I haven't done it in other recent videos but it seems like a lot of people liked that, I'll do it again in upcoming videos then ;)
i am very doubtful for the sony fe 85mm f/1.8 or the zeiss batis 85mm f/1.8, feel like they are both so great..why you pick the sony and not the zeiss? mostly because the price? Most importantly great work and pictures!!
I think both are great, maybe I'm wrong but the Sony could be better for video and it is has been released after the Zeiss. If I were you I would pick the cheapest or lightest depending on what you value more. The Sony is lighter, don't know about the price though
Great video. I enjoyed the shots of people walking with their hands behind their back, and the one with the bag that had 'paradise' written on it was a really nice find.
Hello, good day. I wanted to ask, do you put a chest support for cell phones or go pro? I want to know how you use it frequently? every time you take photos and videos to know them thanks, greetings from Mexico
I sometimes put a chest support, sometimes just a clip to my sling bag. I use a GoPro and I try to take it as often as I can but I much prefer not having it to fully focus on taking pictures
Love these frames and the grading [in the video and the photos as well]. I bought the Sony 85mm f/1.8 just for streets, after seeing so many videos on RUclips and absolutely loved the look of the frames it produces, really great choice for streets. Waiting to see more from you! :)
Thank you for you comment, really appreciated. 85mm is such a fun focal length in the streets I think, I love it. Next episode will be live tomorrow ;)
it's like im playing a first-person shooting game and my character switching from bare hands to camera to bread as weapon overall nice video and im convinced i need an 85mm
what banger pov buddy, all your photos have good composition and i like it, it suits my photography style, especially the back hand shot, so amazing, new subscriber and follower for you, keep it up mate 👏
Glad you enjoyed it! I really love the 85mm. Recently I am trying to go out an shoot with other focal lengths to train myself but I always come to the conclusion that the 85mm is still by favorite haha
Thank you for your comment! Not 1.8 on all images, when I am close to my subject and want to have a clear separation I go with 1.8 but when I am making a ''flatter'' image I usually go around f/4
Adrien, you have an excellent eye for capturing people in the streets-especially, the backs of your subjects. I thought had the oiseau been a little more to the right would have balanced the composition of your last two shots of the man in between the two buildings. Excellent 📸 overall. Scribed. ✌🏼& 📸
i always wonder, what if somebody doesnt want to be photographed, if i am not mistaken you normally need the ok from people tp upload their pictures, i am sure if i would photograph here in austria in my city, i would be asked why i am taking pictures of them by at least every 4th or 5th person, i know its more interesting to photograph people, but i think it also can create some unwanted tensions if the wrong person spots you
It depends from country to country but in most cases you don't need an approval. I use my common sense and I know I am not doing something bad. I also don't shoot people in obvious unfortunate situations like homeless or heavily drunk people. In the end those people are out in the streets in a public space and whether it is through a lens or your eye they are there and exposing themselves to the worlds
Hey! Amazing photos, my friend. You're a inspiration for me! I have a question: Do I need to get permissions for each person that I took a photo? How to manage that?
Really Great photos 👍, I feel feel bad for bicycle guy that you missed to capture at 7:36 😂 .I think, It would be turned into Great Image. Don't you think?
Thanks for your comment! Highly appreciated :) You are right! good catch ;) But I just checked and she was wearing a green jacket, would have been nice to get everyone in the frame but the colors would have been a bit more unbalanced I think
I actually really liked the photos and footage, also the comparison/tip at the end is usefull, something most people don't do. Also the colors are great and the photo's feel alive and less staged. Probably because you don't photograph people straight that often. I would personally skip the intro or at least make it way more short.
Thank you for your meaningful and constructive comment. I'll try to change things up in the next videos to make it more dynamic. I also make sure to put the time stamps so it's easier to skip if the viewer is not interested.
You should! 85mm is such a fun focal length to shoot with in the streets. The look is so different from the typical 28mm or 35mm commonly used for street photography. Thank you for your comments :)
These look more like sneak photographs than street. But I get that mentality is different in every country and the less people there are, the more difficult it gets to blend in to not have to be sneaky. It is the same in Riga.
watched god knows how many videos to decide on which focal length to buy for street photography, and yours finally helped me make my mind. I love taking photos of people on the street, when they are their most natural self. loved your shots and the editing too!
Thank you for your comment! :) Go for it! It's a lot of fun and when you come back home with good shots it's so rewarding. But even if you don't get any result on a given day it's always good to take a walk in the city and being focus on the people and what's around you. It really opened my eyes and simply observing people is really interesting
@@adriensanguinetti sure thank you for motivation, will definitely do it. At starting there is some sort of little shyness , 😁 but will definitely push myself
Thanks for the sub and you nice comment! I have the original DJI Osmo action, it's basically a budget friendly GoPro without compromizing on the quality. Good battery life and pretty nice footage straight out of camera. And compared to GoPro it is extremely reliable, no bug, no lag, no overheating. It's perfect if you take into consideration the price!
nice work and insight, can't help thinking some of them bike moving in front of your subjects would have given some cool results with still and blurs. Some nice contrast and tones in the works, nice framing and balance.
Je les conserve et poste en ligne. Effectivement ce sont pas tellement des photos a imprimer et vendre mais la photographie, spécifiquement la photo de rue c'est beaucoup de photos pour peu d'impressions ^^'
Anyone can fire off multiple exposures of people’s backs from a safe distance without any connection with your subjects… and it doesn’t seem to matter that so many are blurred…..not “street photography” in my understanding…..sorry but time for someone to be honest here…..
I think this is what street photography should be like. It is all about the streets with people as the toppings. This kind of street photography suits me well. Not too extroverted.

I agree, I also prefer the birdy one :) Anyway, nice to have a walk through Geneva, been I while since I lived there, good memories.
Living in Asia where there is rubbish and chaos, shocked how clean and tidy everything is in Switzerland, nice.
Yes indeed we are lucky that the streets are quite clean here... and among center Europe we might be in some of the bests. Shoutout to all the people taking good care of our streets 👏🏻
That’s a relax video for me. I think 85mm is really good at street photography.
It really is! It is such an interesting perspective in the streets
Thanks for the comment :)
your hands are like magnets for good composition, taking pics while walking
Wow, thanks :)

When I shot sony the 85 was my favorite. Such a good lens.
Yes and the 1.8 FE is already really good!

Literally, this city is very beautiful, more than London.
Just came across this video and is funny because this is the exact setup I'm trying to get working. Thank's for posting this!
I love the 85mm for street photography, too.
My favorite for the past 12-18 months! But I want to get a 50mm soon

I really love mood and shot! Do you shot in manual or A (aperture mode) ? Which focus do you us more ( continous)?
Thanks! Yes Aperture priority mode in continuous autofocus
So crisp🔥🔥

Smooth POV, text overlay comments, side by side images, and final remarks a plus. Suggest numbering images to facilitate viewer comments.

Top video. J’aime le point de vue sur la street photo en Suisse. J’essaierai le 85 à l’occasion. 👍🏽👍🏽😃

What camera did you film with? Looks sweet as well
It was the Sony a7III at the time. thanks :)
you deserve more suscribers!
Thanks for the support! :)
where did you mount the camera?
i like your camera angle
thanks
The POV sections? I mounted my go pro on my chest with a chest mount
What was your shutter when you were walking and clicking?
When I am shooting in motion like this with the 85mm I usually put my minimum shutter speed at 1/500s

What would you say are some good focal lengths for street/travel photography in Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto?
28mm, 35mm and 50mm 👍🏻

Such a shame the bird wasn’t in the one on the left. I would have been very tempted to cheat a little with photoshop in this occasion 😅
