- *We needed to get out of the hot house so we picked up a picnic dinner and went on the most beautiful hike ever. Seriously. We chose to go to Stewart Falls up above Sundance and it transformed our blah day into MAGIC!

As a mom of 6 kids ages 33-15 I can tell you its not just the fact that you are in a home and kids are in things now. I believe it is more that your kids are getting older. In the stage of life with teens and even pre-teens life gets more scheduled and chaotic. The kids begin to have THEIR own lives and responsabilies not just OUR lives and responsibilities. It totally takes all of the spontinaity away. I feel purposing to wander and explore is key to sanity and feeds the soul. Try to purpose one week at a time ahead to wander nearby and maybe once or twice a month wander a lil farther out. Think of it as important aa your Monday family night. On a side note that hike in the woods was sooo neat. The drone scenery was phenominal. Also, the music yall picked was so perfect. Love me some Knorp and South
Jen Bowles I second what Jen said. Plus I feel as the kids get older, Mike and Megan can do small trips kid free as short romantic getaways. My husband and I always make a point to go away for a while some place peaceful and interesting. Whether it's the mountains or the beach, to keep that spark alive. All parents need to travel alone once in a while.😉
The drone shots added in are a great touch! Looks like everyone came alive on the hike 😊, a little nature makes everything better. Those boys were BRAVE! And I have to say you've raised some awesome kids, everyone getting along and Andrew is going to make some girl a very sweet and loving husband, not that the others won't but in this video he was so great with the kids , holding their hands and watching after them. It's so nice to see nice balanced and genuinely happy kids! Bravo to mom and dad😊👏💕
My plan is to keep the kids happy so I can stay sane and I only have 2 😳 you kick motherhood’s butt Megan! Props to a great Dad as well Mike!!
Isn't that the truth. You can tell both parents are on the same page, as there is such harmony in the family. A lesson for many. :)

i miss these moments watching your entire family trek and hike a mountain. Before, eve and Jude are carried by mom and dad, but now they can trek by themselves. Your family is big but full of fun. Everyone's growing up so fast too. =D
I love that every time you upload a new video, I get the most excited for a video I've ever been, watch with a smile on my face for the entire video, and am then sad every time it's done! You do such an amazing job filming and editing, but truly your entire family just exudes love and I'm 100% here for it. So glad you choose to share your lives with us!

Interesting how Jude was asking about Chinese writing, I hope you'll let him persue it further if he wishes maybe their is a local Chinese family that could help him. It would be a shame if any of them lost their identity.Great video👍
I only know a few adoptees and I would say their identity is from the country they live in don’t you think?

Justin Metcalfe Although I agree his identity doesn't depend on it and Stephen Greens words are a bit extreme, it's also not true that it has nothing to do with identity. Children who are adopted from other countries will know they are adopted and have questions about the country they came from and their biological parents and so on. When they don't get the proper guidance from their adoptive parents it can cause identity problems or attachment problems. This is something all parents who adopt should be aware of and should be willing to address so I don't see harm in people asking about how Megan and Mike are doing that. Especially when it is clear in this video that one of their adopted children is bringing it up. It isn't like Jude is randomly asking about the Chinese writing, he knows he's from there.
And all the other children that they adopted except for Eve are also adopted when they were much older. They lived there, they even had family there and friends. So yes part of their identity is Chinese.
Jude is Mike and Megan's child, from what I see, they are doing and will do everything for Jude. I think it's great to share but I do not feel they owe us an explanation. It's a family matter.
Of course it's their family and they don't owe us anything. But it isn't wrong to ask such things either. They choose to put these things on RUclips so they can get asked about it. It's up to them if they want to answer it of course.

I love how much we always see the kids reading! It seems so much now kids are always playing on tablets and video games, but yours are always reading or listening to a book, it’s awesome. I’ve got five kids and my three oldest are addicted to reading, and my ten year old sons were so excited to see Esther reading Fablehaven, since that’s literally their fave series ever! They also love everything by the same author, especially the Beyonders series. You guys are honestly the best family channel that actually sets a good example for my kids!

Awesome drone footage.. and I love the accompanying music. Well done Mike. Such a gorgeous hike, just so beautiful. Our boys loved going on nature hikes from the get go. We had so many adventures all within an hour or so from home. With daddy being RCMP we had our fair shares of moves. Our favorite memories are from when we lived a spits toss from the ocean on northern Vancouver Island, B.C, a 45 minute drive from Jasper Park in Alberta, and a stones throw from Victoria B.C. The boys. now 36 & 39, still have such great memories of camping and nature hikes. The blessing from all that is, my boys still love the outdoors, as do our little g'daughters who are 2 and 6.
Awwwwww.. how precious of Eve to meditate in nature, so sweet. I had to giggle at Jude's Chinese writing.. such a great imagination. ♥
I actually held my breath in a few of the hiking spots, as I was hoping another trip to the E.R. wouldn't be needed for stitches. BOYS !!!... haha
The 2 girls are such sweethearts, they have such a gentle spirit about them.. Tfs another wonderful day with us. God Bless ♥
