Sam, the bed to wheelchair transfer and back look like you have been doing this for years it was absolutely beautiful.. And it absolutely counts as therapy don't you discount not a minute of the hard work that you guys put in
Praising God for Aniie's awesome recovery and we'll continue to pray for her therapy sessions as well. As a parent of a child who has health problems and have been in hospitals many times, you both handled it very well, as did your children at home and everyone who helped you.
Sounds like the hospital staff was amazing. So happy for Annie and you all. Surprising Annie was so upset to get in bed for a few more minutes. It is hard to know what is going on in those little heads sometimes! Great job mom and dad coordinating time with the family. Hope she keeps up the hard work on the therapy at home! She will be so glad if she does. Precious to see the special bonding time Annie and Patton had. All the best!!!
I underwent Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery in 2005 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital also. I am now 22 years old and The surgery was the best decision my parents could’ve ever made. I’m glad your daughter was able to have it and I’m confident that the improvements it will make in her quality of life not just in the short term but in the long term 100% worth it. A good example for me is doctor Parker apparently told my parents when he was in the consult for the procedure originally that I would be in a wheelchair by the age of 15 without the surgery. I still use a wheelchair as a junior in college just for mobility as a means of practically in a large college campus. I also use for him crutches/no assistive device for shorter distances as I am able to walk independently which was a challenge pre-SDR.
Annie you're such a brave little girl. Jesus loves you so very much. You're carrying the cross with patience and perseverance. All God's Blessings to you and your family. 👍🙏💕 That's too bad hospital didn't give you guys a portable cot bed while you were with Annie. Providence Hospitals in Oregon do that for everyone.
@@TealHouseFarm They have them at all the Providence Hospitals in Oregon. I had to be with parents off and on until they passed away, and more recently with my sister. Those cots are on all the floors. They're old but they work well.
When I was Annies age I was put in a harness type contraption to help turn my feet straight. I was born pigeon toed (at least that’s what they called it back in the 70s. It had straps that attached to braces on my feet that helped keep them straight while my hip muscles strengthened. Is that something they can use to help Annie? I’m so proud of her progress!!! She’s a tough trooper! She’s got an awesome support system. Keep up the amazing job!
Yep! We have actually tried those…they are called de-rotation straps now. They didn’t work for her because the tight muscles were SO tight. But now that that issue has been addressed we may try them again 😀
So glad everything went well for you, Sweet Annie! Continued prayers!🙏🏻
Wow, Annie is doing so well! Continued prayers for you all.
Many blessings for Annie for a speedy recovery! 🙏💕
Your Annie is so precious. This brought me to tears watching her work so hard. Way to go Annie!!!! Way to go parents!
