Always enjoy your videos bro. I think working from home if you're settled in a job is easier but if you're a trainee or new to the job, to me it feels quite daunting to not get to be in the office.
If you are an avarage accountant, you will make a good income. If you are an average musician / actor /artist / racing car driver / wrestler, you will make little.
I’ve just moved out of audit into industry after several years and I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks back, your opinions on audit and accountancy in general are pretty much the same as mine. There aren’t enough UK based channels talking about accountancy IMO
if people say it’s easy wouldn’t it be fine starting out remote? or very high skill and hard that you need a ton of experience first. I see many say it’s close to impossible to start remote but I figured there’d be remote jobs (although very competitive to get)
Hey Paul. Love your videos. Am taking CPA(Certified Public Accounting) and have to specialize in either Audit or Management Accounting and I have no idea which one to choose and why. Any insight from your experience would be very helpful. Thanks.
Alright Paul, just so I could do my own tax returns and get a bit of an education in my free time could you recommend an online course or where to get started? Cheers
I don’t understand the fact that acca and a Master in finance and accounting are equivalent, and when you apply without experience but with a master degree they just don’t want you and they prefer part qualified persons doing acca 🤷🏻
One is practical work place skills and assessments designed to test those skills and knowledge, the other is an academic qualification of unknown quality and content. There’s a reason ACCA/ACA have work experience requirements…
In the thumbnail I thought you'd combed your hair. I was wrong. When I was younger I thought about being an accountant, but things just didn't add up. How's your investment portfolio?
@@PaulHarrisRUclips Dude, seriously, I have never looked forward to your next video as much as I look forward to the next. Hopefully your hairdresser managed to snip that stubborn outcrop on your right-side (our left). This is headline news for this channel. Makes the portfolio losses of this week seem like peanuts. We all share the pain of shares in decline. UK seems less painful than US, but sadly funds with little or no US stocks are thin on the ground. I bought some more VFEM today and it went down a further 1.50% - Ooh! That's my cash all gone. Zero dry powder. I blew it. All-in with no crypto as backup. Millennials all-in on the highs with TSLA and SQSP are having nightmares. Was it a short back and sides?
Helps if you have a good employer who will support you and give study leave. Also CIMA has changed so you can take the objective tests one by one at any time.

Hey, totally agree, i think it is a big challenge for new starters

Hey I’m in the US and studying accounting. Would the cpa be worth it if I’m only looking for a stable good paying career
1000%! it will open up so many different career paths and will only increase your compensation and your desirability from companies.
Great vedio bro

I hate to disappoint, but it's brass tacks, not brass taxes. Highly informative content. Hope you keep 'em coming.

Hey Paul, I’m currently on the audit school leaver programme at PwC. Would you be willing to provide one-to-one tuition on Aura Platinum?
I think the Aura has been changing from time to time since he left.

Great video, but think your salary bandings for immediately qualified are significantly below the mark!
Yeah I work in practice and they are wayyy to low
