Excellent work .always good to watch a master craftsman using traditional methods with the patients required to produce an inspirational piece of beautiful furniture 👍 keep them coming.
This video should have 100x the amount of views that it has. This was an incredible build and I love how it turned out just how you imagined it on paper. Great job and I hope to see more great work like this from you
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I had a ton of fun making both the table and the video. Maybe one day it will have 100x views but for now you are part of a select few who have seen it😋. Thanks again for watching. Lots more to come👍
@@zumkellerwoodshop4224 no problem. I'm currently working on my first big build with hard wood as well. This video is definitely one that will inspire me to do more after I'm finished with it
@@WarriorKidd06 that's fantastic! It's so cool to think that me working away in my shop has inspired you in yours. Make sure to send me a pic of your project when you are done. I'd love to see it👍. My info is in the description. It's so cool
Great work and a really well done video cinematically speaking. Not the biggest fan of the music but I know choices are limited. Will walker has a great video on his channel about music selection for videos if you’re interested. Like I said though, brilliant build and I’m looking forward to more of your content!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Music is definitely a bit tricky without paying for a service. I will definitely check out your suggestion. Thanks for hitting the subscribe button. Plenty more content in the works 👍
It went in a kiln before I used it. It air dried to about 14 percent moisture content and then went into a kiln to get it down to about 8 percent. The high temperatures in the kiln take care of the bugs.
@@zumkellerwoodshop4224 thanks for reply. Am not a fine wood worker but do get my hands on wide array of PNW woods. I use to trim doors, floors and windows in my house. Pacific Yew, Old growth doug fir, w. cedar, big leaf maple, sitka spruce, myrtle, w. hemlock, w. larch. Your video is the definition of what an heirloom is. Nice to keep slab "alive" with memories that go with it. Keeping slabs oiled up is good way to keep bugs out. I heat up beeswax, turpentine and linseed oil to make a paste. I try to throw in propolis also.
@@larryweinberg1191 We are so fortunate in this part of the world to have these species readily available to us. I'm a carpenter by day and am jealous you are getting to use these woods on your own home. I have never tried your method of keeping bugs at bay, but like the idea. I have used similar mixes that are commercially produced, and typically don't include turpentine or propolis. I have about a dozen more of these slabs so I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the advice!

how did you get rid of the wood boring beetles in slab?
