VIDEO-This is a thorough tutorial video on how to install a DynoJet Power Vision EFI tuner on your motorcycle. In this video we use a Harley Davidson motorcycle. We show you how to install 18mm wide-band O2 sensors on your pipes, route wiring, wire the unit, pair it with an auto tuner, mount it to your handlebars, hook it to a laptop, operate the software, update the software, create an auto tune map, and then flash that map to your engine control module (ECM). We show you other tips, tricks, and other functionality of the Power Vision in this video.
Save yourself money and don't rely on a dealership or technician to do this for you. After watching this tutorial video you will definitely be able to install the Dynojet Power Vision on your own right on the kickstand in your garage or on your patio! No specialty tools are needed.
You can pair the Power Vision with a Dynojet Auto Tuner and it is a great solution for tuning your motorcycle's EFI. If you get new header pipes, mufflers, or air intake on your motorcycle then you need to at least do a basic re-map of your motorcycle's electronic fuel injection (EFI) or things will not run properly.
That is where the Power Vision comes into play. We show you how to start with a pre-determined (canned) EFI map by Dynojet based on your particular pipe and intake set up. That gets you started and then you can get more detailed with running auto tune sessions and flashing your ECM afterwards to really dial things in. We make this process super easy for you to understand and perform yourself. You can really increase the performance and efficiency of your motorcycle with the Power Vision, so let us show you how & take the stress out of if.
The great thing about the Power Vision verses the Harley Davidson dealer standard EFI download is that with the PV you can always change things at any time in the event you change pipes or air intake down the road. With the Harley dealer standard download you have to return and pay every time they have to flash your Engine Control Module (ECM). Harley charges $210+ for this download for 15 minutes of work.
Your stock Harley Davidson has narrow-band 12mm O2 sensors and 12mm bungs on your header pipes. So, you will need to order header pipes with 18mm bungs or have them welded into your existing headers if you want the PV to read in a wide band mode, which offers better tuning capabilities.
However, you can just leave the stock Harley 12mm O2 sensors in place and have the Power Vision read off those sensors in a different mode, but you will not get all the benefits of wide band readings.
You will need a computer for the Power Vision, so you can utilize it properly and get the most out of it. We will show you the PV software installation and how to update the PV unit software out of the box. We show you where and how to get basic EFI maps and put them on the PV, so you can later flash your ECM once on your bike.
If you later want to become a tuning expert you can really mess around with maps on a laptop using the PV software, adjust individual cells, and make your own custom maps based on a ton of readings. That process is for tuning experts only and not realistic for the every day biker, so we stay away from that and it is not shown in this video as it is not realistic. You can damage your bike if you start doing that kind of advanced tuning unless you really spend a lot of time doing it and understanding it.
For the most part, after you get all set up and get the Power Vision installed you can do everything right from the touch screen unit on your bars. We will get you there no problem in this video. This is a simple yet comprehensive tutorial video made by bikers for bikers, so you know you will understand it. Don't get stressed and spend hours upon hours scouring the internet for bits and pieces of info from persons that can't teach at a regular bikers level or from those that don't even ride motorcycles. Get this video and get out riding already!

After I had my Power Vision a year, I met a tech at a Dyno Jet mobile dyno during bike week. Everything was running fine, but he suggested I take some time playing around with the Quick Tune. This program has limits on what you can change and how much, so it won't let you damage your bike. But you can make gradual changes in the fuel map to get more or less out of your bike than the Auto Tune will give you. Watch the gauges. MPG, Knock Sensor and Engine Temp are the important ones. Less fuel will give better MPG at the expense of higher Engine Temp and less torque and acceleration. But there is an optimal point where less fuel is just less of everything. More fuel gives more power at lower MPG and engine temperature. But more fuel also means less air since one displaces the other. So it is just like the coffeemaker. You want to find out the right amount of grounds (fuel) and the right amount of water (air) to get what you want out of your bike. It can be a long slow process making gradual changes and charting what each does to MPG and Engine Temp and riding the interstate for a few miles on each setting. But in the end you will gain control over your bike that the throttle just can't give you. At the end of the day you can clear the Quick Tune back to zero and be right back where you started. I found it was great advice that I am glad to pass on.

Hey Ryan, I didn't buy your video on this topic because I have owned a Power Vision for my Dyna for two years, and I have been making good use of it. So, as you warned here, this video probably isn't a wise purchase for me, and as a result I cannot directly comment on the video. But I can comment on Harleys in general. Nothing on them is from the Dollar Store. A simple Power Vision without the Auto Tuner is about $500. A few extra dollars for a video to properly install something and save a few hundred dollars at the dealer or save from ruining an expensive O2 sensor is just a no brainer. I just think people forget the true risk they are taking when they work on their bikes themselves and the value of having a step by step video over a black and white instruction sheet with stick drawings. Every time I do a job myself for the first time, it always takes 4 times longer. So I appreciate knowing I can find detailed videos to cut short the inevitable trial and error process I would face otherwise. Keep up your good work.

I have a 103 that I put a stage 110ci stage 4 kit and had a FP3 on it. I’m leaving the FP3 to a power vision ( license agreement only no display) simply because of the complications and tinkering that you can easily get it the habit with both the FP3 and the power vision.
I have called dyno jet and they thought this is the best option for the 99% of us that just want all the power/ torque and best running capability from the professionals.
Wish I was the 1%er who could tinker. From all accounts, they said i will see and feel a difference to throttle response. 🤞🏻🙏

I wanted to add a second comment intended to the other viewers. I don't think most people understand right off why they need to retune their bikes after an engine mod like exhaust, but it's really simple to understand. When I make coffee in the morning, I put a couple spoons of coffee in the filter, my 15 oz. cup and the right amount of water in the machine. It is all computer controlled, and I know the cup isn't going to be overfilled or make the coffee too week. The bike works exactly like this. If you put more water in your coffee maker, it isn't going to know the difference. It is still going to make the same amount of coffee until you tell it different. And if you put a larger cup on the tray, it isn't going to know until you tell the computer you want more coffee too. So that's what the tuner does. Put a smaller cup in the tray and you are going to make a mess. Whether you use an FP3, Power Vision or any other. If you get a tuner that requires maps, then anytime you want a different cup, you need to download another map and hope it isn't going to spill your coffee all over the counter. Not the best. The Auto Tune process on the Power Vision works this recipe out and then saves it until you want to try something different. That's what it does.

The great thing about power vision, and a way to save money is to have the ECM re-flashed. Power vision is capable of this. You or your dealership will buy license that will be married to your bike, and can be re-flashed as many time as you want to do it. when they're done tuning they pull off the hardware. Hope this helps.

I did the same, pv done by the hd dealer :
The dealer Works pv on licence base. He install pv for you on base of your bike ( configuration) at that moment.
You dont get the hardware pv stuff. Also you dont need those if your bike is tuned.
The price is way lower then purchase a full device.
In the Nederlands the sofware tuning is about 225 ,_
Negative: you have to go back to the dealer if You need /want retune. Positive no problems with warranty and on risck of that dealer.
If you want to tune 1 time and leave it that way it is an option.
Note: the dealer tune is onley narro band, What means it optimize the part in witch You dayley drive, so not the Max rpm area.
