As a Contractor/DYI guy myself and building a homestead for my family, I recently discovered your channel and man am I glad of that. The talent that you have, the humor, the pride you put into your work and videos, the love of your family and the inspiration that you have given me personally means the world. The backstory here is touching for sure. That hammer at the end caused a piece of debris to get in my eye to make it start watering. I have my dads old hammer and hand saw that my grandfather gave him. Means the world to me. Thank you for your videos my friend. Mark G

Another grown man shedding a few tears. I raised my kids to be capable and independent. I still like getting together with them to do small things. They, like you, had and still have a wonderful grandfather who would take them into his basement shop and teach them many things. It's wonderful that there are still parents who care about their children. That being said, I hope that you have remembered to have them wear hearing protection while they are in the shop with you. Riley covering her ears at one point, brought that to mind! Keep up the great work!

It's brings back memories of my Dad always fixen or building and me being right there with him. I'm also, grateful to have had those precious moments being his lil helper n learning all I could. It's helped me to be able to do things that even my older brother's and sister didn't n won't do. Thanks Dad for those times.

Your story made me cry, as it brought back so many memories of my own grandfather Andy, my mother's dad. He was a carrpenter, but had retired by the time I was born. He had a huge shop attached to the garage in their back yard, as well as a large collection/work room in the basement. He died when I was 13, in 1979, and I miss him as much today as ever. I have my own workshop now- but I hadn't really gotten into wood working and DIY until I was in my late 40s. I think of him often, when I'm working on a project, or when I'm just organizing or cleaning up my workspace. I tell my 4 kids (3 girls and 1 boy) stories about Grandpa, and how I used to go out to watch him work in his shop, or in the garden as he tended to his dahlias - great, huge blooms as big as dinner plates. My 3 grandchildren live too far away for me to visit, but I hope to have plenty of time to pass on those stories to them, also. Thank you for sharing your own childhood memories- they are the best parts of us, I think.

I too was that little boy that my father enjoyed teaching carpentry to and liked to have around the shop. I am 61 one now and can clearly remember those days as if they happened yesterday. I thank you for being that awesome father to your daughters. They will be like I Sunday and remember the same wonderful moments with their awesome father. God Bless you and your family.

Daddy smoked , Pop-paw chewed " Bloodhound " Plug.. and I took up smoking at about 14 yrs old. I'm 60 now , But on march 27th this year , I laid em down for good ! But I'm very thankful , there's hardly ever a day , I'm not working at something or fixin or rewiring or building ! My Oldest Daughter was a Momma's girl, But my youngest was Daddy's Angel ! Both learned " How-To's" but the youngest can honestly build about anything ,,, she still call's for basic standard measurements and suggestions ! Very easy to see that youngest one of yours is Daddy's girl ,,, Love watcin her on your Tractor !

Thank you for sharing! Don't ever feel like you made the wrong choices when you oldest was younger, you were doing what was right at the time. Keep up the awesome outlook on life! I love my 3 daughters just as you love yours. I am also a Papa as well, and hope my granddaughter will have the same memories as I do for my Papa.

Thank you Seth. That's what my wife tells me. Sometimes it's hard not to second guess.

Thank you. Yes. If we aren’t careful my kids generation won’t have photo albums to look through because we never printed the pictures.

Was that a Forest Gump reference? "That's all I have to say about that." I enjoy your videos immensely. I love how your family is involved and the knowledge you are blessed with to pass on to your daughters. Great job!
