you can hear the emotion in the coach's voice when he makes the announcement. it is obvious what an example he has set for all of these young men. he cares about them as people, not just as basketball players. and they give that same love to their teammate.
The nursing profession needs as many well prepared nurses as it can produce. And men are still very under-represented. Hope he applies the same passion he's had for basketball to his professional studies in nursing. He's bound to be successful, he's already invested so much.

I work in a Hosp in Rehab alongside many nurses, not all have the passion this guy has, but I wish they did. His patients are going to love him. I wish him the greatest of success and longevity,
A very difficult program to get into... and it only gets harder when you are in the program. You got this man! I’ve been a critical care RN for a couple months and it’s been amazing.

I got into two nursing programs in March to start Fall2020 but did not attend because covid made it seem like too much work. I am now attending college for Accounting BS.

I am currently waiting for a call to see if they accepted my salary requirements and if they did I finally got the job I wanted since I was a a junior in high school (currently 24 years old)
I had a dream since I was 13 and after graduating from college I was turned down by 4 different companies in 2 years before being picked up by a company that surprisingly paid more than the others and had a better insurance and retirement plan

That is awesome, truly. To have set that goal, failed not once but several times at a difficult, competitive school, and still worked hard and finally got in! So exciting.
If anything it's likely to have accelerated it. The nursing students in the building I'm in at my university had their externships moved up by a semester to cover the amount of patients in our hospitals.

The passion of this young man is unique. To achieve your dreams is also unique. Well done. FYI: There was a time (mid 80s) when RN programs in the United States were begging for applicants. The U.S. went to the Philippines and recruited thousands of nurses. I went to LA Country School of Nursing in the 80s for free and paid $86 per month for a residence on the LAC/USC MED Center campus. My GI Bill covered my expenses. Been an RN for 30 years.
