I think in many ways it has, it was revolutionary for its time and helped evolve gaming to what it’s at now. But with that comes the fact that a lot of its gameplay/gunplay features have been surpassed. It’s just natural that over time these things have improved. I maybe don’t agree that the whole game hasn’t aged well, it’s still a classic and a cornerstone of gaming, but I had to be objective when creating this list and at the time (after a recent playthrough) those were my feelings. Though I’m glad your of the belief it’s aged incredibly well, it’s a game that should be celebrated to this day.
Resident evil 4 deserves a better place but well this is just preferences so ok My personal list 5. Resident evil original 4.reisdent evil 3 nemesis 1999 3.resdient evil 7 2.resident evil 2 remake 1.resident evil 4
The counter I would say to people who say resident evil 3 remake is short is yeah it is,but most resident evils are, Resident evil remake and 2 remake can both be completed in a hour to 2 hours if you know what your doing and they are praised as 2 of the very best. I would say Nemesis's gameplay easily would take it off the bottom spot, especially against games like 0
I certainly agree that all Resident Evil games are relatively short. I just felt that Resident Evil 3 Remake was short out of laziness and had a lot cut that really shouldn't have been. Not having played the original Nemesis though has very much influenced my decision here and I can understand why you would place it higher.
Resident Evil 5 is way better in co-op. If your placement is solely based on solo play, then yeah, I agree. But co-op with a good buddy is one of the most fun times ever. The main game is the co-op, not the solo
Just on personal opinion, despite its clear flaws, RE6 was a more complete game and I had a fun time playing it co-op when it came out. RE3 Remake, while decent, cut a lot of corners and was very rushed, feeling more like a cash grab dlc of RE2 Remake. Now I could easily change the positions around but the short and unsatisfying experience I had with RE3 definitely put it last for me. I just wish Capcom had put the same level of care and time into it, the way they did for RE2. I appreciate your opinion though and I do agree that RE6 was a tough one to go back to after.
Yes, it was tough for a RE game. Tell me what you remember from it? It isn't game play, story, or characters for me. There really wasn't anything above "ok" in that game.
My list of the main games is: I didn’t play the revelations games, they look great I consider them Resident evil main titles but unfortunately I can grade them so I won’t include them. 11 Resident Evil 6 (fun game to play but felt more like an action game than a survival horror) 10 Resident Evil 0 (dislike the plot, the game didn’t make sense and hated all the back tracking) 9 Resident Evil 5 (it felt like the culmination of the series, it was fun, the story a bit over the top but having a partner all along made it feel like and action game not a survival horror a big No.) 8 Resident evil (it was an excellent game given its limitations. It’s the original and it was fun and the compass of what survival horror is) 7 Resident evil Code Veronica (not enough ammo, too hard, story wise a bit over the top. But undoubtedly a true MAIN LINE GAME) 6 Resident evil 3 Remake (fun game cool graphics not a remake, wrong-doing of the monster nemesis, they took the cool away from him) 5 Resident Evil 2 Remake (good game survival horror at its finest. It would had been the better if they didn’t wreck the scenarios, butcher the story, Ada was not FBI but a civilian looking for her boyfriend and Claire and Leon were a team no two strangers with only two interactions, how could they be friends in this game?) 4 Resident Evil 4 (excellent game, as a game definitely the best. Interesting story. Unfortunately too action oriented too much running in front of the camera and not really resident evil as not too many connections tho the series main plot.) 3 Resident Evil Remake (a real remake, perfection, excellent game, scary) 2 Resident Evil 2 (a great game, well balanced, survival horror at its finest, interesting story, excellent scenarios footage. It’s only drawbacks were technological limitations of its age) 1 Resident Evil 3 (perfect villain, satisfaction at defeating him, scary game, survival horror at its core, cool life selections, fun to play. A wonderful way to end a trilogy) Note that I do not consider resident evil 7 and 8 (village) as true resident evils since the franchise ended with resident evil 6. Resident evil 7 and 8 could had have another title and be a whole different franchise. Those games despite their tittles aren’t resident evil.
I avoided ranking any games that could be considered spin-offs, since there are a lot. The Revelations games are definitely on my list of games I need to play/finish, I’ve played a little of the first but not enough to justify ranking it. Where would you put them on this list?
@@reverbium rev 1 I enjoyed at first but when replaying its... OK, one of my least faves tbh Rev 2 I think is hugely underrated, great story, great characters and raid mode is really addictive
I’m sorry but you are missing out bro! Re2 the original is still probably the best game in the series! The original re3 is better than the remake and is also a top game in the series. The remake is good but is missing so much content. Code Veronica is also a favorite of mine which also deserves its own remake.
Oh I’m definitely missing out, when we get out of gaming season I intend to give them all a go. Thankfully I’ve been able to witness all 3 games through, but my lack of experience actually playing them was the reason I avoided placing them on the list.
When I talk gameplay, I’m discussing everything from combat, puzzles, exploration etc. I can understand if you don’t feel that any of those aspects are the best the series has to offer, as you said, to each their own. However, I wouldn’t say it’s comical to think that the game overall encompasses some of the best gameplay in the series. It takes many aspects from multiple entries and improves them, I personally had a fantastic time with the games. Where I think it falters is its story. By no means bad but it’s relatively weak in hindsight. But the gunplay was fun, the game felt varied in each of its main areas and switched it up throughout, which was something I appreciated. I would say that I am also a huge fan of the gameplay found in the earlier resident evil games, especially in the remakes of 1 & 2. I could easily put them top for that alone.
OG RE4 has aged incredibly well.

My personal list
5. Resident evil original
4.reisdent evil 3 nemesis 1999
3.resdient evil 7
2.resident evil 2 remake
1.resident evil 4
Definitely understandable, 4 is an incredible game and I can't argue with your placement of it.

Yeah I would definitely agree on that, my recent playthrough was a solo experience which soured my enjoyment a little.
1. Resident Evil 4 Original: 9.5/10
2. Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9.5/10
3. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: 9/10
4. Resident Evil 8 Village: 9/10
5. Resident Evil Remake: 9/10
6. Resident Evil 3 Remake: 7/10
Great list, now let's hope the RE4 Remake meets this standard.
How is RE6 above RE3 remake? Like I know RE3 was short as hell but it’s still a great game, just short. But re6 is tough as hell to get through

Resident Evil 4 is peak bro
RE 3 ORIGINAL ❤ THE BEST
Resident Evil 6 is my least favorite.

Great list except I'd put Re0 in last and 3 a little higher but besides RE2 remake is 100% the best Re game in the series 👍!
It is the best without a doubt!

lmfao RE8 is the best gameplay in the series? Comicial but to each their own.

@@reverbium Hey to each their own. Re8 gameplay was quite good, but far from the best.
