@@JesseDriftwood some say the "V13" will likely be a bigger wheel & targeted to the hi speed enthusiasts. the V12 seems to be the best all around EUC to date & many of us would Love it to have suspension to make it the Ultimate 16" wheeled EUC
@@JesseDriftwood There are some EUC with offroad tires that are good for winter riding and some people do ride them year-round, like Veteran Sherman EUC has great water resistance and a knobby tire. Personally getting my ks 16x tire studded for the winter though.
I feel like we both share the same view of the XR. I’ve ridden on beaches in the rain. I’ve taken my board on hiking trails and lost it over a cliff side. It’s taken me to surf spots nobody else would spend time getting to. It’s helped me get to the front of a line of a traffic and help clear an accident off the road that nobody else was helping with (not even police). I can carry my dog on it. I can carry a surfboard or hydrofoil with a free hand to drink or do anything with. I shop with it daily. I let kids try it. I let elderly people try it. I commute to work on it. Everybody just loves this thing. It’s opened up a part of the world that walking/running/skating just can’t and slows things down enough that you just can’t in a car. The GT is cool. But it’s very expensive. And if I need to go 30 miles, I’d get a bike or car. 20 miles is already plenty. And yes a Pint X is $400 cheaper than a XR. And guess what’s $400 more than an XR? A GT. They’re smart to do this. As for suing companies for modding, just let them. They’re gonna do it regardless. If your product needs modifications to make someone happy, let them. If your product is perfect and doesn’t needs mods, cool. But even the “perfect” product will get modified. So just let it be.
Great video for those considering waiting for the GT to arrive in Australia "early to mid 2022" or grabbing the last of the XR's in stock. Thanks Jesse!
Really loving your content lately. I have never used a Onewheel and never intend to (way too accident prone), but this video was still incredibly enjoyable. Cool!
I got my XR in late winter 2021. When the new line up was announced, at first I was feeling buyers remorse for not waiting, since everyone online was saying don't wait. Then people got their hands on the boards and the GT was not having a good launch but the Pint X was pretty solid. The more I learned about Onewheels and the community in general, I realized the XR was probably the best choice I could have made, especially since you cannot buy a new one from FM anymore. The aftermarket care the XR had and will continue to have is the biggest reason I'm glad though, especially with VESC now becoming the next thing. The XR will continue to be a great platform for a long time!
I think you made a great decision! I’ve only just started testing out the GT (and having a blast doing it) but I still think the XR is the right board for most people.
love my XR as well. I got infected at Peters and Mattis videos and I agree... Thats the best purchase since I bought my first drone back in 2015. Damn, that last shot wasn't necessary :D haha
this is an awesome video. I bought an og pint a while ago and been holding off for a gt. but I ended up just buying an XR last week. I love it so far and I love the versatility. couldn't agree with you more, long live the XR!!
Love your channel! I've been riding a Pint for a month, already modded it with a GT40mod, range is excellent, about 28 km in 12 C°.... but I bought a low milage XR today... I don't have much money to spend or something, I wanted to buy an other car (less old :D ), but whatever. You live once, OneWheel is more exciting than an other car. :D Hell yeah! :D
The XR looked really fun and I thought "ya, I can do that!" so my husband talked me into one (because I hemmed and hawed about it). We got one about a month before the new one was announced, he's bitter about it because he really researched it and they said in all the videos he could find that it was "it" and no others were coming out. Well, I blew my knee out on the first weekend and it's his now. Oh well, you guys make it look so easy. BTW, my knee had a torn ACL from a long time ago so I don't know what I was thinking. LOL
I actually bought the XR during black Friday sale at the lower $1499 price. I still think it's better than the pint x. Sorry if that's not popular opinion 😆
Little do you know that was your husband's plan all along. Haha but in all seriousness I am super sorry to hear that you injured yourself. I always love to show strangers the board and let them ride it if they take interest. But I am always worried somebody is going to get hurt! If you can, don't give up on it! I know it's hard with an injury, but once you get the hang of it and as long as you respect it, they really are quite safe (assuming there isn't some super random failure or something). Anyway, hope you are feeling better and hopefully at least your husband is getting some shredding on it.
I’m coming up on 3,000 miles on my XR+ and still love it. Longer range and trail riding is definitely something I throughly enjoy and the 30+ miles with the CBXR battery and The extra 25 miles with a VNR Greenworks battery allows me to go all day! Its a blast! Can’t beat the miles of smiles of fun!
I feel like when the battery in this board dies I'll probably go the CBXR route, but honestly I'll want someone who's done it a few times to either walk me through, or do it for me.
Woah! You're getting great at that V12 rather quickly! I'm glad you're getting good at it before doing a full review. Also, glad that sweater fits 👀. Looking good Jesse! Also, thanks for speaking about right to repair. Cheers!
@@JesseDriftwood I think that’s what most people come from Onewheeling originally think. I almost gave up my first week haha. I can’t wait to see the full review.

I LOVE riding my Onewheel in sandals. Although I can't say I ride often straight barefoot. Still get nervous though cause dropping in sandals is not ideal.
Funny story: I've been watching you for a while and on the verge of getting a OneWheel. Two months ago I had some extra cash and decided to go for it and bought an XR+, love it, but now I am kicking my ass for not having waited just a bit longer and buying the GT. Oh well.... I still love the XR!
I JUST went and bought a new XR over a GT today. So don't feel bad. I think you lucked out. The GT honestly seems like a complete mess and this is coming from somebody who owns two OneWheels and they are my favorite things I've ever spent money on besides my Bed.
This is the same as a car, everyone has the right to mod it and they're liable for things breaking or causing accidents. And insurance (in this case warranty) won't cover it if it's been opened. All future motion has to do is what every other manufacturer does, put a void sticker on a bolt and state warranty mileage, 2000 maybe? When the tire needs to be replaced.. or more if they're willing to work with shops that sell their board to offer a certified tire service
I like my xr more than all the others too. I would say i like my gt more but it wont stop breaking so im just gonna put the GTV in it and if it breaks again ill just sell it cuz im over it
I'll ride my XRs till I run out of parts to swap out. The growler set up is still my favorite trick board configuration, and WTF rails for trails. It would be interesting to see the aftermarket innovations to come out for the GT, but that would take a while to mature.
the Onewheel XR platform at this point probably wont die even if they discontinue it. Ive been in the RC hobby for years and even legendary RCs like the HPI Baja "which is a 5th scale and is considered a niche RC in a niche hobby" have STRONG aftermarket support because 1. Allot of people owned it and needed to eventually repair it and 2. pushing the boundaries.
Well said, The one thing I would like to see is a competitive product. Maybe a Tesla onewheel, or an Apple onewheel, Segway onewheel. This I believe would keep prices out of low earth orbit. Also if future motion would make the XR or GT in business friendly states (Texas or Florida) they could cut the price in half. As it is the onewheel is a rich boys toy or old (with money) like me.
Is there a diffrent buying a new xr vs a old one? I Mean in build... Are they are just the same as one from 3 years old? Beceaus I am gonne order one for sure! But I can buy also one from 2 years old with 115km on it. Any suggestions? Thanks! Super dope video! This gonne be my 1st board but I am super stoked for the xr!
do you know what really sucks im 12 and i just got my first onewheel a couple days ago and then they say its discontinued like i mean i already got really comfortable on it and its my favorite onewheel board and when it breaks i cant fix it and then i cant get my onewheel that really sucks im really sad about this
You along with Pete, Matti, and Levi are the reason I bought my XR and I couldn’t agree more with everything you said in this video! Did you badger your board? Or have you just been sending it through the water as is? Haha. Love the video bro.
I love the GT's range and speed but the steps that future motion is taking to make it harder for people to fix/repair their boards just so you have to over pay them for something you've already spent over £1k (or dollars) on is just insane to me, that's why I'm staying with my XR. (I know a lot of people will disagree but I like the squared off tire, I feel more stable)
i don't have one yet but its 2024 and i have ben looking for a while and a dude let me ride his xr and gt and i noticed the sensory issue once i tried to activate it
I want to go road tripping far far away and be able to have all the spare parts necessary to fix anything that may happen which is why the people really into Onewheels always has more than 1 board for spare parts which is ridiculous in a sense. Not being able to bring a spare tire is just bs. It's really not so much to ask when all the board is put together with is hex bolts and barrel connectors
I really dig the color of those rail guards. All I can find is fluorescent yellow guards, but that doesn't sound like the right color to me. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have 5500 miles on my XR. I absolutely love it. I got it when I was 48 I am now 52 do not get one of these. If you did not spend your youth like I did skateboarding and surfing, it’s not a matter of if you’re gonna fall is when you’re gonna fall…. To me I jump right back up and keep going. It’s a good life lesson in general to me is the best therapy in the world. Why are you ask if you want to be safe it requires your undivided attention you start to daydream it will bite you, so why ride my Onewheel for safety reasons lol the world goes away and I concentrate on what I’m doing with that being said this right to modify or write to fix to me is very simple just my opinion my two cents if you decide to take some thing that is incredibly dangerous and you choose to modify it in any way, shape or form you should be able to do so, but I would like to see laws implemented across the board that if you loosen one screw if you touch one wire future motion is not legally responsible for anything this way, the MacGyver us can do their thing and the rest of us can keep enjoying future products by future motion, not having to go out of business, because of people that somehow coordinate that writing something dangerous that they choose to do themselves somehow makes future motion responsible that just does not make sense in my world . Use your safety gear…. Keep your head on a swivel….. my stepfather taught me a great lesson when I started driving, he said” you do not look any better in a coffin if you had the right of way” 💯😉☝🏼🏁
I don't need a Onewheel. I cant imagine right now how I could have a nice story to make that expense pass the "family council"... 😅 But Damn! I want one... so maybe I have my story. Great video, love it!
The GT is more of a finished product and it looks great. I have to say I love the “garage built” look. I say the GT will do great in extreme terrains but then again it’s a bulky heavier board.
The thing with RTR is, the manufacturer can literally take steps to make repairs easier and safer. Yes, the users can still screw up, but the amount of dumb people who will literally be careless about fixing a PEV, is very low. Companies should stop being anti RTR. If they don't want to accommodate RTR at least they should not go out of their way to stop people from doing so
Exactly! Repair can be made extremely simple and safe. It’s one of the reasons I love the little motorcycle that I daily.. it’s about as mechanically simple as a vehicle can be and most aren’t much more complicated. I, with many others have always done my own maintenance on my bikes and never had any safety issues. People understand the importance of doing the job properly and will generally find someone who can if they aren’t comfortable with it. Except for mounting tires.. screw that lol. I’ll swap out wheels but I’m bringing it to a shop for the actual mounting.
I wish you post more, but at the same time it would be a problem for me! everytime you post a video i HAVE to stop doing everything and watch it right away. Congrats mate!
In my experience, most people can figure it out pretty well in the first 10 minutes. I've known a few people that took longer but they eventually got good too. I've even known people that had no board sport experience pick it up and get really good really quickly!
also, Have an XR right before they announced the GT I bought a Begode EXN do I want a GT yes but since I got the XR with same top speed the EXN is way better choice I think most onewheel riders will jump to EUC next more speed more distance more fun and right to repair

The green screen back pack is epic.
I want a green screen like that now and am already in the shed looking for materials!
Yes dude! Exact same page, word for word.
Thanks for being so damn nice. That's a really big deal. Love your videos!
Excellent video as always! You've got me reminiscing about my XR like someone took it away, when really it's just downstairs as ready to go as always.
Wow your production and editing is absolutely first class
Thank you for making me feel even better about buying my xr in 2019. 2380 miles on the board since!
Cool!
Thanks!!
If you cannot repair these things yourself they should at least expand with repair centres around the world.
Thats what I would love to see! Licensed repair centres.
💯 it's like a no brainer
this is an awesome video.
Why are we putting products inside the tire ??
Stoked to see Christoph again! I just like knowing your gang is out east making different stuff happen and helpin each other out when it needed.
Cheers!
I want to make sure I have an actual informed opinion that isn't just "wow this is hard, one wheels are the best!!!" lol
@@JesseDriftwood I think that’s what most people come from Onewheeling originally think. I almost gave up my first week haha. I can’t wait to see the full review.
I appreciate the reminder that I paid for Canva Pro for a reason and I need to use it more and for the lack of shoes in this video (not in a weird foot-thing kind of way...maybe should have left the last part out)
I LOVE riding my Onewheel in sandals. Although I can't say I ride often straight barefoot. Still get nervous though cause dropping in sandals is not ideal.
Jesse at 2:50 ish when you mention riding in the rain, did you ever waterproof your board or was that stock?
Still buying my first XR in 2023, super hyped, my pint is the most enjoyable thing I’ve ever owned.
So good from beginning to end. Love how your pieces just feel complete. Great story telling as always✨💜
The GT is overhyped in my view. XR is built better and more customizable
Big thanks for bringing more light to this #RightToRepair issue, and at least getting the conversation started!
I like my xr more than all the others too. I would say i like my gt more but it wont stop breaking so im just gonna put the GTV in it and if it breaks again ill just sell it cuz im over it
1:11 STOP IT!!!! 😂 😂 I am crying with laughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, the number one thing keeping me away from getting a one wheel is just how anti right to repair future motion is.
Buy a used XR and mod it. That way none of the money goes to FM
I'll ride my XRs till I run out of parts to swap out. The growler set up is still my favorite trick board configuration, and WTF rails for trails. It would be interesting to see the aftermarket innovations to come out for the GT, but that would take a while to mature.
I have zero experience with onewheel, although they do look very fun. But I'm here to say out loud, "Love the intro, Jesse!"
I'm so glad I got my xr on sale a week ago the gt looks cool but I want to be able to customize my board and I love that xr look.
Me too!!!
I have a Pint X arriving today, I am SO excited! All because of your vids :)
I love your videos!!! I am saving for a pint x because the XR is not here anymore😞 and the gt is way to expensive. keep making onewheel videos!!!
picked up a px myself just cause I love the playfulness of it however I could see myself getting a used XR and tricking it out for winter riding.
the Onewheel XR platform at this point probably wont die even if they discontinue it.
I couldn't agree more. My XR is the greatest toy I have. I ride every single day and cant get enough of it
That yellow onewheel looks awesome.
“Life is too short to be a d!ck to strangers” Well said Jesse and awesome video. Damn I want one of these.
Haha yes! It looks like it belongs on a construction site and I love it.
I would be so scared to do all the jumps and even off road rides on this thing. But you made it look so tempting.
The very best YT I have watched in 2021, old enough and should probably stick with 4 wheels but inspired by you every vid 🖖
Just bought a XR as an upgrade for my Pint. I like the upgradability.
As it is the onewheel is a rich boys toy or old (with money) like me.
im definatly getting one in a couple years. i put 2k on my xr. miss it so much.
Really awesome video! Enjoyed it👏🏼
I believe in #righttorepair. I own a xr and ordered the GT. I truly hope it's not so locked down we can fix them ourselves
same
Is there a diffrent buying a new xr vs a old one?
I Mean in build... Are they are just the same as one from 3 years old?
Beceaus I am gonne order one for sure! But I can buy also one from 2 years old with 115km on it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Super dope video! This gonne be my 1st board but I am super stoked for the xr!
Keep up the great vids Jesse. Here a question, Where do you recommend I buy a used XR? ( if you can since they've been discontinued)😥
The chaotic neutral of Jesse Driftwood is oddly satisfying to me.
Hahaha love this! Your the best Jesse, just got a used XR and I love it, don’t care about the new models
Good choice!
I’m ocd and I appreciate your deeds from 4:38 to 4:40
So feeling you on this one! Great vid mate. 🤙
random but where'd you get your helmet? love it 😆
I actually forget! This thing is super old now, in fact I probably should have replaced it a very long time ago.
Hey Jesse, thanks for being you.
No, thank YOU!
What shoes are them a 7:21, please help
Vivo Barefoot Magnus Trail, something like that!
@@JesseDriftwood thanks, super appreciated 😃
Ah yes, the old “topic is now outdated” thing in the middle of an edit… Painful! Good video mate, and I agree!
Hey when r u doing the gt review?
do you know what really sucks im 12 and i just got my first onewheel a couple days ago and then they say its discontinued like i mean i already got really comfortable on it and its my favorite onewheel board and when it breaks i cant fix it and then i cant get my onewheel that really sucks im really sad about this
life is to short to be sad with 12 years
You along with Pete, Matti, and Levi are the reason I bought my XR and I couldn’t agree more with everything you said in this video!
I’m on the same boat.
@@shitalchaudhary5972 Yeah I'm keeping mine. Just because the GT came out doesn't make the XR obsolete.
i don't have one yet but its 2024 and i have ben looking for a while and a dude let me ride his xr and gt and i noticed the sensory issue once i tried to activate it
I want to go road tripping far far away and be able to have all the spare parts necessary to fix anything that may happen which is why the people really into Onewheels always has more than 1 board for spare parts which is ridiculous in a sense. Not being able to bring a spare tire is just bs. It's really not so much to ask when all the board is put together with is hex bolts and barrel connectors
*Also team "Right to repair"* 🤙🏼
Jesse! Do you feel as though the new xr sensor is harder to activate than the old one?
Hmmm I haven’t noticed that off hand.
The intro was sick as hell. How many tries did that take?
Great Video! Props to the XR, couldn’t agree more.
Karma should treat you well Jesse .. so true to say people be nice to each other !
would you recommend a onewheel to someone who has never ridden a skateboard proir to trying it?
Absolutely! But I think the best option is to try one out for a while first, and hopefully have someone who knows how to ride teach you a little bit.
I would. it's how I fell in love w/my Pint
I really dig the color of those rail guards. All I can find is fluorescent yellow guards, but that doesn't sound like the right color to me. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I completely agree Jesse
Ditch those stock bumpers and get some bangs....trust me, you will love them!
another awesome video, a peek into jessies brain.
Keep your head on a swivel….. my stepfather taught me a great lesson when I started driving, he said” you do not look any better in a coffin if you had the right of way” 💯😉☝🏼🏁
Did I peep some Vivos? 👀
Yeah! I switched over to minimalist shoes almost two years ago now and really couldn’t imagine ever going back.
Damn... That was a solid add in the middle.... sold =D lol
I don't need a Onewheel. I cant imagine right now how I could have a nice story to make that expense pass the "family council"... 😅 But Damn! I want one... so maybe I have my story. Great video, love it!
Hopefully you can at least get a chance to ride one someday!
I wanna see you ride the GT 🥺 especially the edits no doubt it'll look even more better. Haist Feb 7 yet?
I wish you post more, but at the same time it would be a problem for me! everytime you post a video i HAVE to stop doing everything and watch it right away. Congrats mate!
I wish I did too! Let's see if I can get it up to 2 videos a month next year lol.
@@JesseDriftwood that would be awesome! We need more Jesse in our lives!
If this isn’t a t-shirt already, it really should be! “life’s too short to be a dick to strangers.”
Dude you are awesome. Love you vib/ flow lol
Jesse❤️ hope you’re going to have a wonderful holiday
Are they hard to ride? I can ride a bike, ok skateboarder and surfed when I was a kid. Looks awesome fun
In my experience, most people can figure it out pretty well in the first 10 minutes. I've known a few people that took longer but they eventually got good too. I've even known people that had no board sport experience pick it up and get really good really quickly!
Yo the used market for the one wheel pint will be ham I’ll prolly cop one for the buds
you're gonna make me buy a onewheel dude
Next time you're in town I'll have to give you some lessons.
also, Have an XR right before they announced the GT I bought a Begode EXN do I want a GT yes but since I got the XR with same top speed the EXN is way better choice I think most onewheel riders will jump to EUC next more speed more distance more fun and right to repair
