Great work my friend I just bought 2 sd cards and a reader. By the way… I love and appreciate the hard work. Most people don’t know how hard of work it is fir just 1 video. Instant sub
The have a super fast budget line of cards that cover all cameras as well. And they are much cheaper than other brands. By from your local retail store as the prices on Angle Birds website direct are a lot higher.
Ive been using an ANGELBIRD 4TB CF EXPRESS in my GH6 for a little while until the GH6 2.0 firmware update! Now there is an error saying cf express exceeds 2 TB. How can they throttle me now??
Hey there, well this would be a firmware issue created by Panasonics GH6 update. This is not something that Angelbird can fix as it is caused by the camera manufacturer. But what I would say is to reach out to AB tech support and make them aware of the issue as well. But your first port of call should be Panasonic. Knowing the cost of the cards, I would roll back the cameras firmware or return them for 2TB versions. I wish I could help you more.
@@cinechimp Not really. But on Sunday I am filming a project for my brother and after that I am doing a livestream. But I have two more videos I want to upload soon!

Straight up. The people over at Angelbird are amazing. And you are right, camera cards are completely overlooked, until a failure happens. Then it becomes paramount. With the higher resolutions of the 8k R5 and the 6k pocket PRO, I wasn't going to chance it again with cheap cards from amazon.
Hi, love your vids - I bought Anglebird 512gb CFast card based off this video for my new R5. Wondered if you'd come across any video files that look and act corrupted when trying to import from the anglebird reader (so card out of camera), yet the files play fine in camera, and when imported directly from the camera using USB in to camera, and the EOS Utility 3 application on my mac, they import just fine?? Very odd. I feel Id prefe to just swap cards and import from the card directly, rather than plug in the camera, open an app, then download...! Love any input, thanks - I found a few vids on youtube about this! cheers,
Hey there, I have had absolute no issues with my cards or readers. You may want to check that your Angelbird cards are on the current firmware. Using the card reader shouldn't be corrupting the data. Normally when you have to use the camera with an issue like this is from the recording being corrupt. And thus the camera (or the Canon software) can play and rebuild the file. However, I would hit Angelbird up and let them know the issues you are encountering with the cards. Im pretty sure they wont want their cards giving you this type of issue on the regular. And let me know what happens next.
Yo… your production style is insane. Reminds me of the animated series Crashbox. I truly appreciate the value I got from this & will research Angelbird a bit more.
You are very kind. Thats for putting out positive vibes into the Tubeverse. And I highly recommend any and all Angelbird products. True quality with great after sales service.
Thank you for your video! I have a question I am hopeful you may answer before I purchases my camera tomorrow. I am getting the canon R5. I would like to have the ability to film 4k 120fps and 4k60fps All-I. What cards should I purchase? Do I need CF cards or will SD cards work? Whats the lowest speed of card that I can get away with to film 4k 120 and 60fps? Thank you so much for your time!
Hi Rob, if you you really need 120p you will need a CFexpress card. HD 120p is the only internal 120 you can record to a SD card even if it is a V90. The way I would look at it is like this. The r5 replaces the 5d series of cameras. These are normally replaced by canon every 4 years. So if you invest in the cfexpress cards you will get 4 years at a minimum from them. Most likely longer. And if you really want to get the most from the camera and unlock all the features without buying an external recorder, they are the best option. Hope this helps. I I have the ninja v and barely use it to record with the R5 as it can be all done internally with the right cards.
Will the Angel Bird SD card record 4k 60 ALL-I for the Canon R5? Most SD V90 (3) II , with 250MB/s write speed 300MB /s read speed will not achieve this feat. If the Angel Bird will achieve this feat I would love to know because so far none of the cards I have tested will do this and I could really use one that can. These cards will achieve 4k 60 IPB but that is very compressed in comparison to ALL-I. Thank you and great video!
I bought fuji xh2s, but there is no angelbird in the compatible card list. There is a price difference of 2 times between the cheapest card on the list. Do you have any information about Angelbird 512GB AV PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B? I would appreciate it if you could help
Hi there, this is most likely that Angelbird haven't received a camera to test. But if you email or call them I know that they will answer your question promptly. I dont want to miss guide your purchase. But I have several of the 512gb mk1 and mk2 1 / 2TB of the AV pros for my R5 which runs hotter and pushes way more data than the XH2s. These cards work perfect. And have awesome support from AB. Its a pretty new camera, I would love to get my hands on it.
V60 still a good investment do you think? I'm looking for one to pair with my GH5 and shoot in its maximum potential which is 4K 60p 10 bit 422 All-I 400Mbps. I need 2x 128GB to use at the same time as backup but V90 are too expensive for me right now. Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for the video, thumbs up! I noticed the Angelbird CFexpress card reader is discontinued on B&H...wonder why? Will the ProGrade Digital CFexpress card reader work just as well? Lastly, can you confirm the Angelbird CFexpress 256GB card works well with the Canon R5 for filming 4K video? Thanks! -Casey
Hi Casey , thanks for stopping by. The Angelbird cards work a treat with my R5. Over here in Europe they have been adopted by the retailers as the recommended cards for Canon cameras shooting RAW video. So they are a safe bet. If you have any problems with what you receive contact them directly. They are super nice to deal with. The pro grade cards should work. I dont have any but they should be fine. Whatever works in the camera will work in the reader. Its the same or lower data rates. Hope this all helps
I just got an R5. Is the angel bird 256gb CFexpress card fast enough to shoot and sustain 4K 120 without it being too slow to keep recording? Thank you!
Hi Jason, the 256gb Angelbird CFast works great. But the card size you choose should have more to do with how long you really need to record for. You would also need a Atomos Ninja 5+ to do that in 4k. Currently I have not been able to test this as I only have the ninja V. I would say that if you hold out a bit, there may be a CFExpress version coming. Then there would be absolutely zero issues.
They really said that. No mate thats not true. They have probably sold you old stock running old firmware. You may just need to update the firmware on the card. Otherwise, yes I would return it to the store and request another one or contact Angelbird direct. They have amazing after sales support.
Heads up. I have 512GB AB CF type B card fpr the new Canon R5c . Trying to check out readers, wanted a single unit SD and CF fast type B. ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type B & UHS-II SDXC Dual-Slot USB 3.2 Gen 2 Card Reader. Many people find cards overheating very badly even when not transferring.. Could not copy direct from camera via a USB lead for video, Only stills although that has stopped working now saying is busy doing something else. NZ Canon support finally discovered it was not possible for video from their overseas team. I also noted on amazon and B&H many folk could not get any communication with AB even with out a problem. Just no support what so ever. So who ever your getting to talk to is not the same as US folk. I suggest you check it out as it a complete mix of response. Are you calling an aussie number or? Where are you based and what number do you actually call? I am in NZ. Hoping i never have to call once i get the reader. Bought the cheaper 512 GB card here for 395NZ$ . so far so good apart from camera linking not designed in.
Hi Mark, Sorry for the late reply, its summer holidays in Europe so a lot of companies have reduced staff. That nasty bug that has been plaguing us all for a couple of years now is also affecting things in many Euro countries again. No doubt AB is one of them. The camera not transferring from the cards to the computer is a canon or computer issue, not an AB card issue. The card is just storage. There are no limits to accessibility. But it doesnt surprise me that the R5c for that matter wouldnt be able to transfer video via the USB port. I have never tried. But thanks for the heads up. I am one of the "US", but if I email a supplier because is an issue and dont hear back, I call their support line. Theres only one number to call in Austria. My number is your number. I am a Aussie based in Paris. So when I call AB its from Europe. You can find there contacts here: www.angelbird.com/contact/ I would recommend that you go with the Angelbird card readers as you will need them to do firmware updates to your cards, plus they are fast and super rugged. You can not update your cards without a AB card reader. The updating the firmware can fix overheating issues, but if it doesnt - call and talk to AB they have great techs and very reasonable. Make sure that you have registered the warranty for your cards online so you are covered. And I am interested to know how it all turns out, so hit me back and let me know.

Hi Kane, thanks for taking the time to watch the review. Thats a good question. It is actually a Edelkrone slider 1 v2. BUT I would not advise to buy or use it. Glad you got some value from the video.
Hi sir I’ll get the R5 next week does it work without updating firmware? and I need a cfexpress card for shooting a music video at 4K 120fps at some clips, is that card can shoot 4K 120 FPS?
I'm using an Anglebird 256gb AV Pro CFExpress card. So far, it's been decent. I've had a couple read errors, but so far recoverable. The odd thing is that the card is very glitchy in transferring files. Sometimes it's effortless. Other times, I'm having weird issues that appear to be caching related. It bursts for a couple seconds, and stops dead for 10 seconds, then bursts, then stops. Any clue how to deal with this? (This is a brand new, extreme-high end PC with 64GB ram running Win10)
Sound like either a firmware issue. I would try updating the firmware on the card and if that doesnt fix the problem, I would report it to AB. They are really good with this sort of stuff and you may find that they will just replace the card if you have registered your warranty.
@@cinechimp Thank you! I will look into how to update the firmware on the card. I also just placed an order for an Angelbird reader. Hopefully that helps me narrow it down to the reader or the card. (maybe)
@@cinechimp Not sure why my last reply isn't showing up. I got the Angelbird reader, but it was initially worse. It only transferred at 0.5 mb/s. I checked firmware on the card, and it was already up to date. I don't see any firmware updates for the reader. I tried the reader again, and this time, it transferred at 650 mb/s. I'm not sure what to make of this thing. Next I tried to copy a file TO the card, and it gave me an IO error. Ultimately I had to format the card, because it wouldn't resolve. (It also acted like it was going to brick my Canon R5. It made the R5 completely non-responsive/black screen even after removing the card. I had to pull the battery!) I guess I'll call Angelbird, and see if they know anything. Thanks for the help either way. One thing I'll say about the Angelbird reader vs. the Velogk is that it runs much cooler. The Velogk gets warm within seconds and stays very hot even when not transferring. The Angelbird seems like it's just barely warm.
