That looks awesome dealing with all of that grease after awhile and it looks like an good investment to have especially if you gonna deal with the same trailer you both gave me an idea great video
Drill bits for hard metal are called Cobalt Drill Bit. Milwaukee makes them amongst other brands. They are a few dollars per piece, but they are worth the cost
I've used a Teflon plate on my 5th wheel RV trailer for the last 20 years. It works Great! Martin this is a very good installation for your truck. You two have a wonderful day!!
Martin nice job as always. My condolences.... One thing I learned never to skimp on is drill bits and any cutting blades. Not saying you did. Harbor freight forget about it!
Hi Martin, get one of them magnets drill press, put your on drill on it, I got an old style drill motor that turns really slow, I use it for drilling frame rail and such
I’m very sad Martin didn’t bury his drill bit in the back yard 🥲😡show a little respect around here 🫡😡😂😎Rickster. Had the old black ones that fit on the trailer with a round clip that fit on the kingpin but that was just pulling my same trailer 90% of the time or more 👍😎Rickster Keep on Trucking you two
U know it good to see y’all home y’all deserve it people need to do their own homes don’t worry ab you and Martin I do believe y’all are all grow up that people got their noise in other people stuff have a beautiful day can’t wait to see y’all again
I just put one on Saturday. I think mine is a 100061 I’m sure. . Made my first trip Monday. I pull the same stepdeck. All I do now is take some disposable gloves. Put some grease in them. Put it on trailer kingpin. I think it’s going to be alright. A buddy brought over his magnetic drill. The little steel plates. Used a regular drill. Yours looks exactly like mine. Good luck to both of us. Five year warranty they say.
May Martins’s drill bit rest in peace. 🛐 Anyways, I always hated those teflon plates because every time you dropped the trailer they would fall off. This looks like a great idea if they last long enough. Happy trails you guys.
I think if you use your trailer with minimum on-off coupling, but with constant trailer changes that wears out or gets greasy. The grease from trailers, just a thought. But looks good anyway 👍
I'm anxious to see how that works out for you. I was going to put one on my truck but I drop trailers everyday and the trailers I get pulled by everyone with a greasy 5th wheel. Was told before that you shouldn't get a lot of grease on those but IDK
Caution I managed a fleet of 50+ trucks and we had these plates put on all of them. We had to end up removing them because the pin depth caused hooking up problems at times. We could not risk the liability of a trailer unhooking because of the plates
Me, I have never had a problem drilling the back end. Yes I did notice that wee smile on Alice’s face. Boy that some kind of 😢tiny bit there Martin. Yup fith wheel grease just keeps those rear ends and frame and anything near that fith wheel greasy and dirty because all the dirt sticks to the grease. Anything past the cab requires you to wear gloves when fiddling with anything back there. I do miss it all though. As you know once a drop of diesel flows in your viens it’s all done and only thing left is fill out the log book. Love your videos guys. As you said soon the vacation will be over and bling time will be in the past and you guys will be pounding the boulevard once again. You guys have had a great time away from running the biways and hiways of America. It’s going to feel good to get back at it and have that old Bulldog piss on your windshield in the early morning hours. Guys, have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you, what’s that song, On The Road Again..
Only problem with the slick plates when you do drop and hook freight is people grease the snot out of their trailers and it coats your plates. I’m on my 2nd one because of it
Only bad thing about slick plate is if someone else has to hook up to your trailer or if a location that you drop your trailer then they don’t use it gets grease all over it then it’s a mess
The company I drive for just switched from I pass to Best pass. I pass works a lot of places but not in Kansas. I wish there was a list of places it does work. Keep the videos coming.
Hi ! ya ! Teflon plate, i tried that a long time ago ! it didn t work for too long. because i was pulling different trailers all the time . If you haul your own trailers it s ok but hauling different trailers all the time, it don t take long you have grease on it ! So, clean your trailer off grease and see how long it ll last ! Make sure your screws don t stick out ! tight em after a trip ! Well , have a nice day, see ya later ! 🤠
@@TruckingTogether Hi ! thanks for the reply ! Yes of course it s good for you guys ! I did the mistake because of my ignorance and hope nobody hauling multiple trailers do the same mistake ! and i saw the improvement on your new plate ! the 2 bars ! it protects the plate from tearing up ! ! Good Grease is expensive ! Glad you did this ! 😎
I never lay anything on my trunk lid on my fortieth anniversary mustang.Thats Mustang abuse. I'm joking. Your silver Mustang would look good with ghost flames. 👍 from Detroit , Mich.
Ok, so what do you do when hooking up to company trailers that other drivers jerked off on? That plate is meant for a dedicated trailer. You make no sense!
That looks awesome dealing with all of that grease after awhile and it looks like an good investment to have especially if you gonna deal with the same trailer you both gave me an idea great video
I love when Martin plays along with the bit

I need that slick plate on my dinner plate.slide my food right into my mouth!
The Minimizer Company is only20 miles from where I live. Lots of great products. Just off I35 in Owatonna Minnesota.
Good to see you again, really appreciate your videos. Missed them
Welcome back Martin and Alice
I've used a Teflon plate on my 5th wheel RV trailer for the last 20 years. It works Great! Martin this is a very good installation for your truck. You two have a wonderful day!!
My condolences to martin. I know how attached he is with his tools.
Martin nice job as always. My condolences.... One thing I learned never to skimp on is drill bits and any cutting blades. Not saying you did. Harbor freight forget about it!
Those Teflon plates were around over 30 years ago. One of the issues was sometimes it made the kingpin too short.
Hi Martin, get one of them magnets drill press, put your on drill on it, I got an old style drill motor that turns really slow, I use it for drilling frame rail and such
Big up to beautiful Alice and Martin your ok .Shes definitely a keeper 🇺🇸💪🇬🇧😂Friendships are everything.Big up to the pretty lady and Martins a tart 🤷

May Martins’s drill bit rest in peace. 🛐

Hello 👋 Hey HI and Howdy Y'all.. 😂lol that's totally awesome yeah I remember the problems y'all had when buying that truck absolutely awesome
we discussed this , supposed to give warning about the making me laugh…still laughing writing this. y’all are just great. stay safe.
Slick plates are DEFINITELY AWESOME

Even the no grease Teflon coated plates still need some grease so you might end up putting a little.
Caution
I managed a fleet of 50+ trucks and we had these plates put on all of them. We had to end up removing them because the pin depth caused hooking up problems at times. We could not risk the liability of a trailer unhooking because of the plates
whole idea is to not grease fifth wheel does not matter if you get grease from trailer on it, the point is not having to grease your fifth wheel

I’m so happy
Hi Alice and Martin
It will be interesting to see if this holds up in cold temps.
Only problem with the slick plates when you do drop and hook freight is people grease the snot out of their trailers and it coats your plates. I’m on my 2nd one because of it
Some yes. At ceva those trailers were dry as a bone though.
Only bad thing about slick plate is if someone else has to hook up to your trailer or if a location that you drop your trailer then they don’t use it gets grease all over it then it’s a mess
Yep..... that's the sucky part

Will the sun cause degradation of the Teflon covering ?
It looks like a good idea. I hope it will last. Be safe my friend's. God bless you all. 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Did he break the bits drilling or head butting them like he did the drive shaft 😅
Only thing with the 5th plate is swapping trailers regularly is gonna get it greasy unless y'all buy a trailer that never comes off the 5th
5th wheel grease is the pits. Gets on everytjhing and hard to get off of clothes
Oh no martin broke your stepbit
With all this work on Tiny and High Maintenance, I fear for Fancy being sent out to pasture?
RIP Little Bit. :P
Chrome didn't get you home , chrome kept you at home 😆 people lose their minds when they see you not struggling like they are 😂

Lil guy spun its last turn….

Why didn’t you have a broken drill bit give away… lol

Lol love the ending y'all take care be safe
Just makes good sense and time out of your day. Let me know when you find one I’d like one myself.
What about the grease from the trailer or do you pull a dedicated trailer
You can easily clean the grease off.
carbon detector can save life lost a good friend that way glad you now have one ;]
If you're bunk heaters use gasoline you get carmnoxide if they burn diesel you get watery eyes and cough and won't die in your sleep

When we pulled Ceva’s junk those trailer never had any grease on them lol. Some starting fluid cleans them right up.

Plastic 5rh wheel for a plastic truck
What do you drive?
Give that drill to your son and go buy you a mans drill. 🤣
I keep telling him to just go get a Milwaukee but I guess he’s sentimental 🤷🏼♀️
Remember to take the baby powder to stop the growning 5th wheel with curtain trailers
Do u guys know which truck u are selling
Are you guys ever going back to work? What are you doing? You're not eating steak egg and cheese bagels are you?!
I feasted one this morning.

Ok, so what do you do when hooking up to company trailers that other drivers jerked off on? That plate is meant for a dedicated trailer. You make no sense!
You can still hook company trailers with it. That people use grease on, you make no sense.
