That's a technique called a slide or power slide. It takes advantage of the fact that sometimes the game still thinks you're in mid air, having the player simply slide down the hill even at max falling speed at times, making this run super fast.

The best it can do is tie our other option in terms of how fast it is, and it's harder in some ways. I used it here because at the time, the warp was known, but the most modern way to do the normal route was not yet known. That modern way just about renders the warp too hard for not enough payoff, if not completely obsolete
finishing an ubertrick right before you land just allows you to bounce off your head and get the points for the trick. i have no idea WHY it works, it just does, and i love it
