Each province is in charge of their own management of forest fires. BC has to request federal help. Provinces isnt in charge of the national military. Recently, BC did hire a private forest fire fighting company, that is canada based -but had worked out of Australia. Provinces do support each other with equipment & personnel - again provincial decisions. But yeah i get it, blame the pm for everything, maybe something sticks

Five or six years ago I was on the Rocky Mountaineer and our guides were telling us that the forest around Jasper is a tinder box and is ready to ignite at any time as it is over 200 years old and I’ve been expecting this event ever since hearing this so why has not parks Canada done something about this, is everybody spending too much time listening to all the tree huggers and not managing the forests

Trees were killed in Jasper but near Banff area a white grizzly bear named Nakoda was killed along with her cubs.. her mother and her aunt too over the years. A wildlife corridor is valuable. Fire breaks are valuable (but 400 ft high flames are a lot!), we need to protect all resources, from the natural to infrastructure. But really the main question to me when Nakoda died is "why don't we know there's white grizzly bears in Banff?!" And how come we don't know their names and they're not national treasures to be protected at all costs?
