      This is not news, this is not mentioning what we as a people did to prevent environmental degradation at the first place?
      Did the goverment do an ecoological survery?
      If they did, then what type of action was recomented?
      Otherwise we have millions of fools in our society, How can we accuse the politicians they have to accommodate the fools to get the votes.

    Just a heads up.... The mountains near Jasper, the ones that burned, were due for a fire 5 years ago when I was there.... Literally half the forest was dead trees from the "lodge pine beetle" as the locals call them.... It is sad that Jasper burnt up, but it is of no surprise, it was easy to see the inevitble ..... The fire needed to happen to kill off the beetles, and get rid of the dead trees, but Jasper did not have to go like that.... They knew it would happen..... I was thinking at the time, I would fix permenant roof sprinklers on the roofs, or something.....

    • @johnwang9914

      Well due for the removal of the dead trees from the pine beetle infestation that was due to the winters being too warm to cull the beetles. I guess, they weren't removing the dead trees fast enough. There's also the decades of draught leaving the vegetation less resistant to fires.
      It's the cold winters that cull the beetles, not the fires.

    • @peppertrout
      @peppertrout Месяц назад +2

      The ecos want the trees to rot and disappear naturally so if a fire happens in the meantime, it’s just also equally natural. Nature will do as it pleases. In the same meantime, people lose their homes, jobs even family members. A firebreak around Jasper was needed but the ecos weren’t interested and unfortunately, are in control of whether a firebreak would be created or not.

    I watched an expert talking on a video and the fire was not severe because of pine beetles, the trees were past the red stage when they are most flammable. It was the drought conditions and high temperatures in the 30's celsius that fueled the fire. “300- to 400-foot flames” that swept into town at a rate of 15 metres per minute.

    I live 20 minutes from Jasper, same mountain range...this fire was 100% preventable but forest officials have failed to clear dead debris for SO LONG that this was inevitable. This had nothing to do with climate change, lightning or civilian fault. It was complete failure of The authorities, yet again. Last year they had firefighters who were 'training' and accidentally started a MASSIVE fire here in the same area. Civilians can't have campfires but authorities can accidentally burn down thousands of acres because of an oops while training. Who trains and deliberately starts fires in the forest during the dryest season of the year? Make it make sense. The only thing that's adding up is revenue. This was intentional to get more funding and to get the green light to develop at an unprecedented rate in an environmentally protected area. How else are they going to sucker people into getting on board and thinking that this is for the greater good? THEY'RE TRYING TO SWINDLE AND BAMBOOZLE ANYBODY WHO WILL LET THEM.

    Why would Parks Canada delay doing a prescribed burn ? Some comments below state it should have happened a few years back.
    Is the delay due to a lack of budget, personnel , etc ?

    Why is it possible to lay pipelines for gas and oil around the world, but not pipelines to transport water for extinguishing fires? The water would already be there to extinguish fires and would not have to be transported in insufficient quantities by airplanes.
    And if there are already pipelines, there are too few and they are not sufficiently positioned.
    Why is there no money for this?

    I've always preferred the company of animals to that of people. Natural animals have far superior 😼 given instincts, senses, and intelligence. (I think it's because they lack the ability to run their mouths that their souls have a stronger connection to Heaven.) BTW, it's been suppressed in the media (surprise, surprise), but last week Hawaii was having several wildfires too. From what I've seen, the "Official's" involved from the Lahaina fire are more concerned with their local PR image than being honest. They knew what was coming with the Lahaina fire, just as they know with these recent fires. They don't want locals knowing it's their fault for using the banned machines going up in flames now.
