    Thank you very much for the video.
    Is that possible to use the "Riks Method" to obtain the Energy absorption results of the above structure? Could you please also let me know that what the difference will be if using "Riks method" ?
    Thank you very much!

    In energy absorption calculation, In D column of excel , why you calculated up to 24 cells. i mean up to displacement

    Thanks for your video but unfortunately you did not reply to most of the questions in the comment list. It is painful because it is almost the only video of youtube doing a full analysis of a tube up to the energy absorption and because even amazing videos may need explanations. Actually my questions are already in the previous comments but did not get answer from you. I will ask again hoping that you or someone who understood well will help me. I need to understand why to compute the energy absorption in excel you did ''0.5*(C5-C3)'' from where did you get this 0.5. And if you see this message, please send me here the corresponding paper. Thanks.

      hi,In my opinion,energy is calculated by intergrated the area under the curve, and when we calculate the area of triangle,we use: 0.5*bottom side length*hight of triangle. so that's why the author use 0.5( just from my perspective),wish this thought give you some idea~

    thanks for video. pl. tell me how to plot total energy absorbed vs crushing length graph

    • @samsami328
      @samsami328  9 лет назад

      +ramesh sah You have to accumulate the energy at each distance (mm) and then plot the accumulation against the length or distance. For example you have a table of two columns, the first one is the energy absorbed at each displacement and the other one is where you are going to accumulate the total energy absorbed. In the first row of the empty 2nd column you drag the first row of the 1st column, and thus you will have the first energy point. Now in the rest of the rows of the 2nd empty column, you will need to add the first row of the 1st column + the 2nd row of the 1st column. And then using excel you can drag to apply this relation to the rest of the column. Now you plot this column against the distance.

    Heyy..at the end of the result in Excel sheet the Graph (Force Vs Displacement) you plot it, mine one is different from yours though I used the same value that you have used and follow all the steps.
    Your first peak plot below 2,50,000 and mine one goes above 2,50,000..
    Kindly please help me..

    can we say that total strain energy developed is equal to energy absorbed during impact by structure??

    • @samsami328
      @samsami328  9 лет назад

      +ramesh sah Yes. This is the whole idea of these structures, they absorb energy by deformation.
