I can literally watch people tie flys all day, such a beautiful hobby, with really amazing results! Keep up the great work.

Why not use a thicker thread to build the body?
    Less time, less material!!!
But the pattern is ok, nice "fly".
    Sure will tie some.
Tight lines 🎣 from the Čech Republic 🇨🇿.

LOVE THIS PATTERN but are there any more patterns you could show using the colored resins, I have them all and would VERY MUCH like to see more. 🎣👍

Tried numerous uv glues and they are all the same.
NONE dry totally perfect. Always tacky slightly and lose gloss.
I bought the gulff kits with gulff light expecting to be flawless.....
I was wrong....its not tack free people.

Do you have a list of all the stuff you've tried? I was under the impression that Gulff and Solarez were good. I've heard people complaining about the "long term" where their flies started to loose the translucid aspect. Also heard that the compound in the bottles would separate over time (just like paint needing to be mixed).

Solarez bone dry cures 100% tack free in seconds with a UV light. Go over the entire fly with it when you are finished.

@ they lose the transparent aspect because they get scuffed up on the outside from use. All you have to do is add another coat of resin and they will be clear again.

@@mdees88 Thanks, I actually ended up spending hours researching the topic. For the tackiness, my conclusion is to just put a super thin resin as a final and "finish" coating then once cured they run rubbing alcohol (isopropyl). Other than that it's just like you said, re-coating after a while. The curing light is what really makes a world of difference, that's where I spent the most of my time trying to find out what's happening behind the scene with the polymerisation of the resin and what the process actually is. I ran many test on my own after a full weekend dedicated to the topic. I kind of know now that 90% of the videos on RUclips about the topic are just people copying each others and repeating things and making the same "mistakes" and no one really goes in the details of why the tackiness happens. What's actually sad is this Gulff channel has 5 videos, non of which are actually going in the details of their product line's difference and application, results and used case. I walked into a store trying to decide which one to buy and at the end of the day I told the owner of the store to talk to the sales rep to have a display with samples of some flies or hooks that got side by side drop of resin so the customers could see the difference for themselves. That should be an actual video on RUclips if you asked me. I debated making one but this entire test would cost me a leg having to buy all the resins.
Update: My bad... they have one quick video very briefly "covering" the topic ruclips.net/video/Kp3Aff0o9v4/видео.html but this looks more like an advertising than anything technical.
