best music video of the season by far - if Vesna are able to bring more of this look into the semifinal performance, they might stand a good chance of qualifying
only two weeks to go now 😃

The sister of the Slavic states (Czech Republic, Hungary and others) is Ukraine!!! You gotta find symbolism in every detail. The purple guys represent Russia and their idea of being the rulers of all the Slavs. Purple is the color of power. When the guy feeds the Ukrainian woman red soup(RUSIAN BORŠČ), it's a metaphor for propaganda. At the same time, they're scary, which is why the girl gets scared in front of the mirror and prefers to comply by putting red lipstick all over her face. When they swirl their sticks around the singer, they choke her, they want to subdue her. Then in the chorus they sing about how each of our Slavic sisters, in this song Bulgarian, Czech, Ukrainian, are equal, their crown and sovereignty cannot be taken away. This is a reflection of Russian aggression in Ukraine, just as the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 once was. Anyway, I'm so glad you like our song! Look Vesna - My sister’s crown (Acoustic version)

Just a small thing - Hungary is not Slavic. It belongs to the Ugro-Finnic cultural-linguistic circle.

My interpretation: THIS sister is Ukraine. Other sisters: Czechia, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia.... But not Russia. Russia is purple in this clip.
By the way - fantastic sweater! Love it.

This is another case of the studio being a lot better than the live (at least for what we have seen and heard so far).. really hope that Vesna, as well as the netherlands and the uk can deliver as they deserve

Fortunately for the UK they've got a golden ticket to the final. I do hope Netherlands and Czechia will rise to the occasion, it would be deserved!

In my opinion the fun video performance is a lot better than the live performance really. The vocalization is better, and everything sounds better, and they have pulled off the rare art of making a video performance that actually fit with the singing and music, and it is part circus part cabaret style. The song is kind of cool and has a way of drawing you in, and that rap part was very cool. They should bring some of those costumes to the live performance. It would bring more of an edge to the live performance, especially since the video performance tells the story of the song better than the live performance does. In comparison to the video performance, the live performance is boring and lacks that little extra energy and drama. They might qualify but part of me is a bit doubtful. It will be a pity if they don't qualify. Must say though that this is one of the best songs that Czech Republic has had as an entry since they started participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007.
