Your awesome I wish my son had you in elementary... He struggles and he is now in highschool. He is also in the IEP program. We need teachers like you.❤
i don’t think anyone wanna misbehave in his class ..he is so fun and cool! i know i wouldnt i would feel honored to be in his class ..such passionate and smart teacher! more power to you!!!!
I am a Native English Teacher in Austria. I noticed other teachers using a similar technique, but I know of one that is far more effective. Kids who misbehave often have a lot of energy, and not being able to move can make them restless or angry. I start with an intro rap that includes the line, 'You know the rules.' This rap reminds them of the rules while also making them feel part of a creed and tribe. The good morning song and dance help them move and start the day on a positive note. Additionally, I create two teams with an imaginary boundary and let them compete to see which team can be the quietest. The winning team (side of the room or group table) gets to choose a song to be played at the end of the day, or in my case, the hour. This turns classroom behavior into a game, making it something to be won and always rewarded. Therefore, the kids of the team will be the ones to bring the misbehaving kid in line through pier pressure and the kid is more motivated not to let his friends down. It is always good to mix the teams up every week so that each person learns how to create teamwork with every individual and animosity in the classroom does not start to grow.
I hope you are in a good district where admin supports you. I keep hearing about all these sick attacks on teachers. I would be very scared to be a teacher inthese times
Man you gotta work at a super suburb school. Try telling an inner city kid to walk laps all recess 😂 kid pushed another through a window in a fight in 4th grade. A week later a kid had to be removed from class because he got caught for the 3rd time lighting things on fire
Your videos make me wish i was in 5th grade again lol...i love when my daughter gets in the car after school and gives me all the tea about which kids had to do Lagos at recess and what for...😂😂😂
Wait, are you joking? I forgot there are countries where even today that's still legal. Every school I've ever been to the teachers just had to earn respect normally, without violence.
For my internship I am teaching 5th grade science and math. Given how tall 5th grade students are, I have been worried about how to manage them when I'm shorter. Your videos help me a lot.
I grew up after the cane was banned from schools, but got smacked by my parents when I made bad choices and I’ve been working with kids for over 13 years, so I definitely agree that the cane is NEEDS to be brought back, because it’s EXTREMELY effective at preventing poor decision making
@@RealMerryMaryNot at all, it's strongly and consistently associated with a much higher risk of long term behaviour problems, as well as violence later in life. This has been measured and documented so many times in so many countries.
@@junbh2 you clearly haven’t done ANY research or have any experience working with children, because not only from my over 14 years of working with children, but also the evidence you claim to have actually proves the opposite: that children who aren’t spanked end up having absolutely NO respect, ESPECIALLY for authority🤦🏼♀️📠
I always hated the laps and silent lunch luckily I’m in high school now and don’t have to deal with that and luckily I only got it back then when the whole class got in trouble
It's not as if teachers are allowed to use their physical size anyway. Every teacher has to find ways of keeping order as well as building relationships with their kids.
As a teacher myself, I get why they removed the cane, but it NEEDS to be brought back, because I’ve been working with children long enough (+ even from my own experience growing up) to know the truth of the fact that by sparing the rod, the child/ren are spoiled
So beating children is the way. As a teacher who worked in an area where “ whooping kid” was a way of discipline in the home, I can tell you it doesn’t work, and behaviors over and over and over.
When I was younger. At my elementary school. Misbehaved students would have to report to the planning room (a form of detention), I was in there alot. But my district also had another form. They would remove the student from their school and put them in a school called reinnosaunce (however you spell it) and they would basically be expelled from attending class from their main school to attended the disciplinary school for up to a year to 2 years.
Well it's not the States job to discipline this isn't Nazi Germany . This is why homeschooling is a thing . Keep ure kids out of the crazy sheeple programming centers where they force inject with tons of vaccines and the masses don't read the ingredients ? State schooling is for the herd and especially for people who could care less about their child We have a socialist semi-communist education system in a Democratic semi- libertarian society. It's counterproductive
I do like how he subtly uses his brother's name. I assume both as a reminder to people it's not the first time he's had to deal with people who are taller than him, yet younger possibly causing him trouble 😶
Poor Peet. He just cannot help.himself...😂😂😂 (you two crack me up)😅
😂 I love the name you chose for your example.😉😉😂
Peet's name just happens to be spelled the same way as Mr. M's little brother.
😂😂😂😂 u and Peet are hilarious 😂😂😂

Poor Peet! 😂
Mr montzingo do you know Warwick Davis and Caden Tenycke?

Corporal punishment is still used there? I LOVE that you used "Peet".

What would happen if they refused to do the laps?
I thought about that, too....I would guess an immediate call to Parents or Guardian.....
I think they go lower and lower until its at the red
Or what if they physically can't run?? 😅
Mr.M , this tells you my age, bad decision you got paddled, yes and no more bad decisions. 5th graders will respect you.

You’re so smart when I was gonna take advantage of the class it was so hard I don’t no why I didn’t come up like this😂
Let me fix : i don't know
I always hated the laps and silent lunch luckily I’m in high school now and don’t have to deal with that and luckily I only got it back then when the whole class got in trouble
Peet catching strays 😂😂😂
Love that !!
Every day is a new day!! 😊😊
Free Peet!!

Mr. M I know your student Peet example was not a coincidence.... 😆
I do like how he subtly uses his brother's name. I assume both as a reminder to people it's not the first time he's had to deal with people who are taller than him, yet younger possibly causing him trouble 😶
Peet will risk it all & be in the red lol
That’s a good idea
Is there anyway to get back into the green?
Dang Pete… 🤦♂️
😂 is this from past experience with a certain someone
😂❤❤❤❤
But Peet didn't do it! He was in Albuquerque!
Ah. Smart.
What if Pete is asthmatic or some other reason, and is unable to run 3 laps?
Do students get to turn their behavior around and get back to green? 😅
The same kids are On green and red all the time, this is so outdated.
Have any of your students made it to the red??
Wow, I can’t believe you are allowed to make kids walk laps for a punishment. Physical punishment was done away with a long time ago in my district 😮
I wonder how you got to the name Peet for the random example 🤭
But how big are these laps tho?? 😮
What is a kid like to eat lunch alone then what
How many fifth graders do you have in your class?
So, what did Peet's mom say when you called her? 😅😊
But what would happen if they physically can't run?? 😅
This is super outdated, the color coded stick and cards. Public shaming is not where it’s at these days.
That Peet is a bad seed .. 💙🧡❤️💜💚💖🩷💛😊🙂
🤣🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️💗💗💛💓💓💓💖💖💖💞💞💞 That’s genius! i love it sooo much!
