I need to do a test on the boat. one side fishes with fluorocarbon and the regular mono. I will see what side catches more fish. I do use regular mono for my double hook rigs!

I have the b g 4000 for most of my fishing. For serf fishing I have ugly stick 12ft. And a b g 8000 I can cast 100 yards and still have a lot of line. And it has more drag than I need.

You needs to check main gears and bearing, my 2 bg are bone dry, I has to open the reels and grease, oil them all over again. Many complaints about this problem.

@@RealFishin I bought 2 bg 6500 in December 2020, I always makes a quick check on all my Reels, penn, shimano, okuma and daiwa, quantum. For some reason I still don't understand most of them had very lilte grease in main gear, hard to see with naked eyes. Only penn has good amount visible. Open and look at bg main gears, you will knows what I'm talking about.
@@tripledelight8104 daiwas dont come packed with grease and also the tight tolerances within the gears push out most of the excess grease anyway. That means when u open up the BG it may look dry but the surface is still coated in some grease.
100 lb braid would be too thick! Aare you going to cast at all? I would do the 50 lb braid. You can add some mono backing if you like but it is not required. I do not have a mono backing because the braid will last a 2-5 years and mono turns bad around one year.

This something I'm still confused on. Rod is maxed at 20lb you're using 50lb line. Does this mean your drag will be set less than the rod? I've always bought combo sets and stuck with mono line it's listed on reel and rod. Please and thank you
the Penn Spinfisher VI Spinning Fishing Reel or the new penn slammer 4 looks like a solid complement but I have not used them. My older Penn Battle 2 or 3-6500 (it is four years old) is terrible and inferior compared to the BG 6500. I would stick with the GB for the solid bang for the buck

Off topic a bit. But, I thought the purpose in a right hander having the reel on the left side for spincasters is to facilitate 1 handed casting. Who is casting reels this size with one hand? I'm not alone in preferring the reel in my dominant hand. Thoughts? Also, Im buying this reel through your link.
Yes, if j grand, u might even fit more. The old j braid will be around 400. The j braid fits 500m of 50 pound which is 0.375mm and the j braid grand will fit 500m of 80 pound bcs its also 0 375. Its just my guess, the number might be slightly different. Hope that helps

@@Jambolitz Goodluck if you just started. What kind of fishing will you be doing?. Yes, that is the old version. Now at that mm, it is 100 pound. The new one, 80 pound, u will get 500m and if you go to 65 pound, it'll be like 600ish. But you can put backing inside to save cost and buy big spool and stack it as it's cheaper that way rather than buying smaller line spool.

I have fished both fluorocarbon and mono for years over 100's of fishing trips. Hands down I feel fluorocarbon out catches the mono. I need to do a video and have one boat fish fluorocarbon and the other boat fish mono. we will see which one out fishes the other. Do you only fish with mono?
i’d have to agree with @RealFishin on this matter. I was just fishing Barnegate Bay with my dad this past weekend. I had 35lb red power pro braid with 3 ft of fluorocarbon leader, he used just straight mono. Both with fluke jigging figs I rigged up (4 ounce sinker on the bottom with two teasers tied up a foot apart baited with gulp minnows and frozen spearing and squid. I caught two fluke and a rock bass, with many many other hits while he didn’t catch any 😅 so when it comes to fish that are more picky when they strike fluorocarbon does make a big difference
Great presentation I love the BG 6500 but I have to disagree with you on your rod selection… The real is meant for big game offshore youre Rod is for inshore… it’s very heavy and your rod it’s only design for 12-20 lbs also your rod butt is way too short cuz it’s meant for inshore fishing… my bj 6500 is paired off with a penn carnage 2 that’s a serious offshore stick.. but that is just my opinion thank you…

For Popping and Stickbaits I wouldn't use 50lb braid use 80lb at least and you aren't going to feel the difference in diammeter because with 50 to 100gr or more lures you are going to cast a mile with It but lost them is much worst. I was thinking like you 50lb for castability and I lost more than one for a wind knot and It wasn't cheap.
@yusufhassan7825, interesting. what size BG did you get? what are you fishing for mostly? I found the Penn Battle 2 5000 and 6000 complete trash. Maybe the series 3 is way better. I have had great luck with the BG 6500 and caught plenty of fish.

Flourocarbon has actually tested worst that mono especially as the line gets wetter.

@Alvaro.240 I typically do not cast these rods. I will free line a bait out of the back of the boat. I can see your point the way you fish! Fish on!
