- Julie Young always knew she wanted to be a teacher. After high school, she started working as a Head Start teacher. Julie quickly realized she needed to go back to school and get her licensure to truly pursue her dream teaching job. While working on her special education teaching degree at WGU, she caught a viral ear infection which resulted in the permanent loss of her hearing. Discover how this unforeseen disability helped Julie empathize with students with disabilities, and relish in her ability to go to school each day to inspire her students to believe they can do whatever they put their mind to.
I was a special education student as well, and am now wanting to be a special education teacher! I want to share my unique perspective with the students and for them to know I was just like them at their age, and they are capable and have the potential to achieve!
Elizabeth Schiada are you crazy or something you are the victim of a diabolical system and yet you want to hurt these kids in utter lies special education is scholastic segregation you know I've seen these kids getting bullied by students and teachers back in my day and it had brought me into sheer anger sorry Hun but no offense I think you should major in another career I do truly feel very sorry for these students that attend special Ed until this very day because they are being oppressed in the silence do not become an oppressor because you have been silently oppressed
Let's Start a Trend together
I want to become a teacher, because I want to help other's with learning disabilities and more because I have a learning disability and autism. I know I can become one and help others achieve their own goals in life and inspire them no matter what!
I have a visual and auditory processing disorder . Now a full time teacher finished my Ed.S in early childhood special education and lbs1. I plan to move into district to Chance laws impacting Chicago students.
Congrats to achieving your goal
