Got the Airbus stick and throttle quadrant today. Struggled to make the throttles work properly and a quick search on how to configure them brought me here. One watch of this video and some note taking, and I've got everything working perfectly. Thanks for the info - very helpful
Thank you, Jonathan. Very well described instructions mate. I have liked and subscribed to your channel. I was pulling my hair out trying to get it to calibrate for the FBW A32NX and watched quite a few videos to no avail, but yours was the one that did the trick. As you mentioned, right out of the bat, set the sensitivity settings to 0, create a duplicate profile, and then CLEAR the Throttle L-Axis and Y-Axis (IMPORTANT), and reset them again. That did the trick for me. I was about to send the unit back thinking it was faulty, now I'll order the Quadrant addons. Cheers again!
Hi Jonathan, I have struggled for a while to get these working even after watching other youtube videos, but you made it so simple, so many thanks. Keep up the good work
after hours of trying to find a fix for this same exact issue, you sir saved me some frustration, thank you so much for this video. WORKS 100% WITH THRUSTMASTER THROTTLE QUADRANT
Thanks a lot again, Jonathan ! I wasn't aware of how the detentes were configured 'spatially', including idle, climb, cruise etc. At last I can now have the Quadrant set such...it doesn't have the aircraft wanting to be 'let out of the traps' at full pace anymore, as soon as I release the brakes ! ( I can't tell you how many times I've found it really awkward just trying to set the idle space in X-Plane 11, in MY ignorance...which obviously has a required 'knock-on' effect to keeping the aircraft idling on the ground, rather than 'running-away' as soon as I release the brakes !! ). Keep up the great work Jon' much appreciated !
Bought the TCA throttle (dont have levers for flaps and spdbrk) few weeks ago. Followed the Thrustmaster official calibration guide. The device is a mess. Nothing works out of the box. Thanks to your video I was able to set the throttle axis. But the eng switches and starter switch (crank-norm-ign) did not work. Defaultly set to heading but set and hold (LOL). The eng switches for fuel in/cut off were set as avionic master 1 and 2. Total BS by TM. For those who have the tca airbus throttle quadrant at the same state = unusable. Follow this guide. 1) Clear everything 2) Set throttles according to this video 3) find setting set engine master 1/2 and set engine 1/2 fuel valve and map it to the engine switches (2 silver switches with square top) - works in Fenix as well. 4) To set up the crank-norm-ign starter knob you have to firstly set crank (button 7 moving the knob left and center) then set the ign/start (button 8 moving right and center) and lastly set engine norm mode and you have to set BOTH buttons 7 and 8 here (primary and secondary) and you have to change the action type "on press" to "on release" 5) Take a beer. You deserve it.
Thank you for clarifying the reverse Idle setting and confirming that there is no detent for it. That part was not clear after watching a video from someone else.
Many thanks for this superb video - after days of having struggled with the recently acquired throttle quadrant. It's just unbelievable that the manufacturer's default is so hopelessly wrong!
Hi Jonathon Thank you so much for this video on FBW A320 TCA quadrant setup. I have been struggling for days now and came across your channel. Top marks my friend. I do wish the people at Thustsmaster would include instructions similar to yours or even attach a link to your RUclips channel. Cheers, George
Heh - all I did was take a step back, figure out how the sim works, then figure out what the Thrustmaster does "out of the box", and how we can configure it :)
A couple of things since there are new versions: The reversers no longer show in virtual cockpit moving until you actually start the engines. Some update is responsible for this. I just wasted an hour figuring out why the reverse detent was not updating in the cockpit. "Reverse Axis" is not the reversers. Its just reversing the analog direction (kinda like when you pull down on the stick to go up, and you can reverse that direction). By ticking this box you are assigning TOGO to IDLE for example.
Thank you very much Jonathan I needed this....Just bought and received my Thrustmaster Pro X and for the first time after pushback and roll to the active my airbus got away from me because the detents were not calibrated correctly
Thank you very much Jonathan. I have been looking everywhere on a proper guide to set the TCA Airbus throttle quadrant up, and your guide helped! I have my throttle quadrant set up now and working. I am definitely subscribing! greetings from Hungary :)))
THANK YOUU!!! I had to end stream on vatsim because when I pushed back it went full throttle on start up even though I was on Idle. Will link this video for my viewers! Cheers 🥂
Thanks for this tutorial. I was going mad trying to get the controller to work and got it working correctly after/while watching this video. Have a cupa on me!
this solved most of the issue, but reverse is still not happening. (Fixed the reverse by switching it on and off in the iPad/electronic board throttle settings in the airplane itself.) Many thanks for this great video.
Hi Jonathan, A remark and a question. First of all I want to remark that I am very happy with this video ! Very clearly step-by-step explained. I struggled quite a few hours (without getting good results) with these Airbus throttles, but after implementing your configuration -procedure they now work perfectly!! Thanks a lot. The question is about the spoilers and flaps. In your video it is mentioned that if you make a duplicate of the default setup, the spoilers and flaps should work out-of-the-box also. Unfortunately, that is not the case: - Flaps handle in position 0 : ==> full flaps and all 4 other positions of the Flaps handle result in Flaps up - Spoiler handle does not work at all I tried to find a solution online, but not many people seem to have this problem. Do you have a suggestion how to solve this?
Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your reply. As I was looking on internet if there were other persons with the same problem, I came across a very short video (1 minute) where someone set the throttles by simply moving the levers (including the flaps plus spoilers handles) through each detent, while clicking on the two red buttons at sides of the levers at every detent. I followed that procedure (actually without much hope), but it worked ! Everything on the throttle quadrant (including flaps and spoilers) is now operational. When I checked the sensitivites I noticed that the very strangely curved sensitivities were again applicable. My custom made FBW A320 profile is still active, but the sensitivites are reset to the standard and nevertheless the levers move nicely through the gates. I do not really understand this, but it works. I am happy that my FBW A 320 can be flown smoothly again. Remark 1: I do not have the Hotas drivers installed. Remark 2: No, I do not have other aircraft ( the only aircraft I ever fly is the FBW A 320) Thanks again for your great video ( I subscribed to your channel since your videos really stand out) Kind regards,
Thank you thank you thank you thank you a million. This was a great tutorial that I have been looking for for a while. You are AWESOME. I’m liking and subscribing. Thank you again good sir.

Thank's for doing this video, I've just received my TCA Airbus Captain's pack. You mention in the video about the graphics maybe wrong and not showing the flaps or spoiler addon sections. In my MSFS it not even showing the throttle quadrant as shown in your video, do you know or anybody else know of any way of correcting this? The TCA sidestick shows OK.
@@jonbeckett Sorry Jonathan, I didn't explain properly what I was asking. This is the only one plugged in with the sidestick it's simply an icon/graphic that's missing and I didn't explain that in my message above, you mention in your video that the wrong graphic maybe displayed, ie the throttle without the flaps/spoiler controls Mine is not showing any quadrant at all, just what looks like a greyed out Hotas 4/Hotas X. Did you find out why the switches were not working which you tried in your video. Rudder trim doesmove but not really expecting that until I have hydraulic pressure for surfaces, also the Auto brake level switch. I couldn't see mine moving.
@@jonbeckett Hi Jonathan, I tried something different, my comment above was because the quadrant plus spoiler/flaps levers was plugged directly into the Sidestick and there is a difference in names for the quadrant depending on how is plugged in. In your video this shows top me with having tried different ways was that your quadrant was plugged directly into the PC. In this mode the graphic of the quadrant is shown but not when plugged into the sidestick. If you configure the joystick with it plugged into the sidestick then another time it's plugged directly into the PC, the first lot of settings is not available unless you go back to how it was fitted when setup.
If anyone knows how to help please do, I got mine today and i plugged everthing to the xbox and it doesn’t work. I’ve tried to look at the controls but there’s only the side stick not the throttle quadrant. Please help😢
good afternoon dear, thank you very much for this complete tutorial and for taking the time to explain. I wanted to ask you for help with something, I followed all the steps of both the axix sensitivities settings and the configuration steps, of the controls on the plane's ipad, the problem that I could not solve is that the throttle lever, I It remains too sensitive, so if I raise it, for example, a little beyond idle, the plane gives me too much acceleration range, I set each point on the iPad with the percentages that you indicate, but even so, I stay with Too much acceleration, how could I solve this? thank you.
good morning dear jonathan, that's right, I configured, the sensitivity curves as you indicate... all in 0 the majority, and the points of the acceleration lever, remain in their points. but the issue of power is the one that is not looking good. thanks a lot
do you know how to calibrate the joystick for the airbus because whenever i use my airbus throttle the throttles dont stay in the climb detent for some reason it just slides down and i mean the actual throttles that i have on my desk not in the sim
Great video Jonathan, thank you so much. New subscriber here. Joystick working the middle of the thrustmaster quadrant working. I'm so close. Just to the left and right of the throttle section aren't working. Any ideas? Appreciate any help you can offer. I think I have DL the drivers correctly. Thank you.

Brilliant explanation on the axis and what to do, now I understand why I had throttles at climb mode from start up .
Thank you very much for your great explanation! Now it has worked. For me, the new setting of the Joystick Axes was the most important point.

Great help and it works very well, thank you
Thank you so much Jonathan, really helped a ton mate. Thanks!

Tysm man! Really helped me out
Great tutorial, thank you!
The detente work but on the Display it only goes from idle to TOGA when in CLB even though in the cockpit it shows in climb.
Thanks! Doing only first step made it for me
Hello.
Do you know how to assign APPR. AND LOC.
Ro one of the bottoms?
Thank you, Jonathan! You've saved me again lol
You're welcome :)
Extremely helpfull, thank you!
Is this same process necessary with the Fenix A320? Or does it work properly with the default Fenix A320 profile?
A perfect guide again. Thanks!
Cheers!
It all worked fine except the gear lever does not work i looked it up and it said once it doesnt work you cant fix it since its hidden coding. Any help?
You have to start from the default profile and not touch the configuration of the gear switch.
Thanks Jonathan.....That was awesome!
Hi What a superb video. I was pulling my hair out over setting these up for ages. Just one question I struggling to find the calibration page anywhere. I'm trying to set up the A320 Fenix aircraft. Any thoughts?
In the Fenix the calibration is in the tablet. Just make sure you remove the curves on the throttles first.
