Some of the stuff mentioned in Shitamachi Ninjo Gekijo almost sound like those Mario parody animations you’d find on Newgrounds and early RUclips (Maybe even Robot Chicken)
Not lost media, but I will die before believing anyone other than Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells were the best Mario and Luigi. They were perfect "eh, why not?" Guys. Someone you wouldn't naturally assume to play Mario and Luigi, but hey, it worked.
kirby has it ROUGH with some games bowl 64 and the n64 air ride are big ones, but the two i desperately want to know more about are kirby's tilt 'n' tumble 2 and the kirby sidescroller for gamecube we actually got some new footage of the latter around the time forgotten land came out and has me hoping we uncover more!
There was an Easter egg in Metroid Prime 3 where scanning a certain terminal brought text that said "Metroid project Dread is nearing the final stages of completion". I think this also fueled a lot of the discussion and rumors about the game at the time, and since Prime 3 came out in 2007 they could have been working on early versions of Dread behind the scenes
Kirby's Air Ride is very different from what actually became Air Ride; Masahiro Sakurai himself actually mentioned that his involvement with the original project was a lot lesser (it was probably being developed by the team that did the more "gimmicky" Kirby games), while the GC Air Ride was directed by Sakurai himself.
nintendo lost media is a fascination for me because theres probably alot more things we don’t know about that are just hidden away somewhere, waiting to be revealed
Big proof of that was the Giga Leak, i’m low key hoping for another one day or that Nintendo just provide the info themselves to the public I absolutely love seeing what is left on the cutting room floor as well as what could’ve been
I remember watching the King Koopa show as a kid in L.A. There was nothing special about it. Like you said, they only showed old cartoons and repeats of the Super Mario cartoons that had been replayed to death by then. The only reason this show is still imprinted into my brain is because of that frightening King Koopa costume.
My bro and I would watch "Super Mario Brothers Super Show" like lil' fanatics and grub on Super Mario Bros./Zelda (two bags in one box) back in the day. Those are some of my fondest memories of childhood truthfully
King Koopa's Kool Kartoons aired in El Paso, TX too. The cable system in El Paso had two local channels from Los Angeles, KTLA and KTTV (which aired the Koopa show). This show was very weird. I NEVER missed an episode, either! I still remember the episode where King Koopa's kept hyping up Alvin (from Alvin and the Chipmunks) was going to be on the show. The show went on as usual, with Koopa constantly hyping up Alvin. Finally, at the very end of the episode, Koopa says Alvin won't be able to make it. He insinuates that he ATE Alvin! The credits roll as the camera focuses on Alvin's red hat on a table, with the kids cheering wildly. This creeped me the FRICK out as a kid! I really regret not recording this show back then. I've really been wanting to watch it again.
Actually, the Obsessive Gamer has just released an hour long video on a lot of stuff he discovered from the Giga Leak regarding Zelda Gaiden as well as comparing it to the retail release of Majora’s Mask, and there’s quite a bit that dude has seemingly uncovered that we were previously unaware of or unsure about before.
Hey Jorge, I wanted to provide a small correction on the note around 16:40 Kirby Airride for the N64 and Kirby Air Ride for the gamecube are actually two unrelated games, with unrelated development cycles. Sakurai mentions this in his newest RUclips blog. ruclips.net/video/bRDAYgRns4E/видео.html
I lived in the OC/IE during the 80s and 90s, and I remember watching the Koopa show, at least once. I seem to recall enjoying the intro, or at least a building anticipation, but being ultimately confused and disappointed that the kartoons had nothing to do with the Mushroom Kingdom 😕
If you think the Pokémon ship show was odd, you should check out the musical they did around the same time. That's a fever dream of an obsession I had as a kid that no one else remembers.
Pokémon Live!? I have pictures of myself and my best friend in the merch shirts after the show. That was seriously a fever dream though. Edit to ask: was this 2000?
Okay, I had to search on RUclips. Someone did a fan restoration of all different clips for the 20th anniversary. I feel like I should be intoxicated to get the full effect. (Also my poor, poor parents sitting through this.) But it’s on RUclips and the video link ends with /CQUHfxgNavo
Very curious about the Australian Pokemon event. Shame these in person events promoting franchises often fade into obscurity due to their lack of documentation, especially in the early or pre Internet days
Okay but for real those magazine things with the Mario plushies is basically just the blue prints for those Mario plush videos that were popular in the 00s and early 2010s. Like yeah it's more weird that it's from Nintendo, but then again it's no different to the type of content people would make years later on. You could even say they predicated it.
The Koopa show could be a rough watch, even as a Nintendo kid who never missed the Super Show. It was clearly unscripted and depended on ancient public domain cartoons for padding. I guess it was just a very slightly edgy take on the Bozo formula, but that was pretty archaic for '80s kids.
@@TheLakabanzaichrg I guess it's possible that if it had gone national, they might have been able to spring for some original animation. The L.A. version was clearly made for pocket change, though. ;)
I think it's worth noting that Shitamachi Ninjō Gekijō was created by actor & illustrator Lily Franky, whose known for creating some bizarre anime. So I wouldn't put it past him to create something that was deliberately strange and off-putting, especially when it's so out-of-character for the Mario franchise.
Ok that Satellite Magazine show is pretty unsettling and I find hard to believe Nintendo would allow such a nasty use of their Mario Dearest Icon! Could it be that somebody hijacked the Signal to insert his own Mario Parody among the downloadable content? Only time will tell. Right now I am dumbfunded!
It feels weird claiming Majora's Mask changing in development is a lost game. Most games shift aspects and concepts during development. Nothing in this suggests Gaiden was anything distinct from what was released at Majora's Mask
In hindsight, it was a very ballsy move from Masahiro Sakurai to reveal gameplay video of Dragon King, the prototype of the original Super Smash Bros., not too long ago.
Kirby Bowl 64 may have evolved into Kirby's Dream Buffet, the Nintendo Switch eShop exclusive. Both games involve a spherical Kirby in a 3D space, and feature a competitive multiplayer mode with 4 players based around knocking people off of the course. However, development shifts changed the overall game from a golf title to a racing game.
🤔 I always find it curious when these major projects just don’t happen with no explanation 🤷♂️ because for all we know there might’ve been some major lawsuit a controversy like that but was kept quiet because both parties didn’t want it to be public 😅 until we know for sure we will never know lol

I'm 99% sure that Koopa thing was at least partially on UK TV back then too. Though I don't remember any parts shown in these clips.
Surprised you didn't mention the ill fabled "Densetsu no Starfy" Gameboy color, which has very little footage of online, but has some screenshots available to view, it was originally intended for the Gameboy color and was advertised by Nintendo of Japan, but was later changed for a GBA release
An interesting note i want to mention, I'll dig out the episode in a bit but according to one of Sakura's videos me mentions that the GameCube Kirby AirRide game was actually unrelated to the N64 one. Not sure to what extent they're unrelated but it's was an interesting comment to bring up when he didn't need to

@@amoureux6502 He is a military kid. He barely remembers it aside from the name, audience of kids, and it having some sort of game show mechanic. No idea when or where he saw it.
I coulda swore I saw some of it in FL.
Omg, King Koopa's show aired here in AZ once! Just once, it did not get picked up here. I know I taped it, but I have no idea if I still have the tape!
I hope you look for it!!
Satellaview was such a cool peripheral. So much content from it was lost too ;~;
Nintendo is one of the biggest sticklers when it comes to their IPs so it makes sense so many things from them would end up lost.
You never fail to talk about something I’ve never heard of, even though I research lost media like it’s my major. 😭 You’re incredible Jorge ❤
Dude same
I desperately want to see that king Koopa reading letter after letter actively roasting him and his show.
The king has posted
I’am so happy that Metroid dread finally saw the light of day this time release on a home console and finally bringing back the Metroid franchise from the dead once again. :)
Some of the stuff mentioned in Shitamachi Ninjo Gekijo almost sound like those Mario parody animations you’d find on Newgrounds and early RUclips (Maybe even Robot Chicken)
Yeah it does have that parody vibe
I remember watching a video about Shitamachi a while back, truly a disturbing creation
Perfect timing I’m about to go paint the kitchen now I can listen to this while I paint
Is that kitchen painted yet? 😂
@@Emily-cw7tj yeah it’s been done
@@theotakupunk3484 that's good 🙂
I’ve been trying to find something to watch on RUclips all day, thank you Jorge😎
Loving the revelation that Jorge pronounces sailboat as “selbut”
Probably pronounces it like that because he's from a Spanish-speaking nation?
stop mocking his pronunciation you rude miscreant
@@ExtremeWreck Yeah probably.
@@aetherland1883 Delete your account.
And modem as "mod-em" instead of "mode-um"
Not lost media, but I will die before believing anyone other than Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells were the best Mario and Luigi. They were perfect "eh, why not?" Guys. Someone you wouldn't naturally assume to play Mario and Luigi, but hey, it worked.
kirby has it ROUGH with some games
bowl 64 and the n64 air ride are big ones, but the two i desperately want to know more about are kirby's tilt 'n' tumble 2 and the kirby sidescroller for gamecube
we actually got some new footage of the latter around the time forgotten land came out and has me hoping we uncover more!
Missed opportunity to shine light on Earthbound 64, but still a great video! Keep up the good work, man. 💪
The footage for that isn't lost.
Neither is the majority of the content presented in the video, but it's still lost and has many unknown details, just like Zelda Gaiden.
Big proof of that was the Giga Leak, i’m low key hoping for another one day or that Nintendo just provide the info themselves to the public
I absolutely love seeing what is left on the cutting room floor as well as what could’ve been
I remember watching the King Koopa show as a kid in L.A.
I always love watching your lost media videos. Will you ever do a Sonic the hedgehog lost media video?
Begging for Jorge to improve his enunciation because I thought he was saying "Pokemon saiba show", assuming it was something Super Sentai
Still one of the best channels on RUclips, especially for lost media
Always a better day when Jorge uploads
It's awesome seeing a new Blameitonjorge video! After many months, HE crawls out of his hole and comes for new content!
Hey Jorge, I wanted to provide a small correction on the note around 16:40
Kirby Airride for the N64 and Kirby Air Ride for the gamecube are actually two unrelated games, with unrelated development cycles. Sakurai mentions this in his newest RUclips blog.

That's where I live now
@@MASTEROFEVIL I’m so sorry
If you think the Pokémon ship show was odd, you should check out the musical they did around the same time. That's a fever dream of an obsession I had as a kid that no one else remembers.
The musical isn’t lost media it’s unreleased
Pokémon Live!? I have pictures of myself and my best friend in the merch shirts after the show.
That was seriously a fever dream though.
Edit to ask: was this 2000?
Okay, I had to search on RUclips. Someone did a fan restoration of all different clips for the 20th anniversary. I feel like I should be intoxicated to get the full effect. (Also my poor, poor parents sitting through this.)
But it’s on RUclips and the video link ends with /CQUHfxgNavo

Only zoomers don’t know “bowser”’was called king koopa also
By the thumbnail alone I'm excited to watch cause King Koopa's Kool Kartoons is probably the peice og Lost Media I want found the most
Very curious about the Australian Pokemon event.
King Koopa's Kool Kartoons and Shitamachi Ninjo Gekijo sound insane...so naturally I want to know where I can see them for myself!
King Koopa looks more like King K Rool lol
And the Super Show ofc predates DKC by over half a decade, so maybe the Rare designers were up to something when creating K Roll (?)
Lol I thought the exact same thing....
Basically shitamachi ninjō gekijō is actually SML before SML, speaking of which why is all mario plush content has disturbing backgrounds jeezus!?
It's always good to see an upload from you every now and then. Keep up the good work!
The cartoons themselves were probably placeholders
@@TheLakabanzaichrg I guess it's possible that if it had gone national, they might have been able to spring for some original animation. The L.A. version was clearly made for pocket change, though. ;)
@@willmistretta. I guess that was the plan
Finally some good freaking content
I do recall watching an episode of King Koopa's Kool Kartoons on RUclips when I was REALLY young, but I don't think it's up anymore (obviously)
It always sucks when a video is uploaded on yt then becomes lost media.
You know it's good when Jorge uploads him talking about lost media
It feels weird claiming Majora's Mask changing in development is a lost game. Most games shift aspects and concepts during development. Nothing in this suggests Gaiden was anything distinct from what was released at Majora's Mask
In hindsight, it was a very ballsy move from Masahiro Sakurai to reveal gameplay video of Dragon King, the prototype of the original Super Smash Bros., not too long ago.
Why is every live Pokemon event shrouded in mystery?
The Mario one was fucked up. I mean it was basically SML before it even became a thing.
Instant classic
How can we be sure that the Shitamachi Ninjo Gekijo episodes weren't written by SMG4?
If I would’ve saw the Kid Koopa show as a kid, I would have probably gotten nightmares from it
Did you like nightmares?
"Mario kills both Toad and Peach, before smoking a cigarette and announcing he has a new girlfriend."
This is an odd timeline we live in.
Not directly from Nintendo but there's a lost videogame review show called PXG, they likely covered many Nintendo games.
Shitamachi ninjo gekijo episodes sound like they came from the Super Mario Logan series.
I was just rewatching some of your older videos when this got uploaded. God, I will never get enough of you covering lost media.
I recall seeing King Koopas Kool Cartoons on CBBC over here in the UK sometime during the late 90's/early 2000's
🤔 I always find it curious when these major projects just don’t happen with no explanation 🤷♂️ because for all we know there might’ve been some major lawsuit a controversy like that but was kept quiet because both parties didn’t want it to be public 😅 until we know for sure we will never know lol
It's always a good day when you upload
"king koopa" isnt a name, its a title, just like "koopa troopa" is a title, there aret thousands of turtles named "koopa troopa" you know? "bowser" is his name and he is the "king of the koopas" AKA "king koopa"
AFAIK the ONLY "mario" charichter with "koopa" even as part of their official canon name, is "yoshi" who are collectively, canonicly known by the "scientific name" "yoshisaur munchikoopas"
Yes!! Another lost media video from Jorge!! :D 💕✨
I'm 99% sure that Koopa thing was at least partially on UK TV back then too. I had it in my head it was shown as parts of the Mario TV show, like it was shown in the UK as a mix of both, but it's a looong time ago so can't be sure. But soon as he was shown, I recognised him. Though I don't remember any parts shown in these clips.
BABE NEW BLAMEITONJORGE VIDEO JUST DROPPED
Surprised you didn't mention the ill fabled "Densetsu no Starfy" Gameboy color, which has very little footage of online, but has some screenshots available to view, it was originally intended for the Gameboy color and was advertised by Nintendo of Japan, but was later changed for a GBA release
His videos are so nostalgic
That satellaview comic is fricking awesome!!!! Funniest crap I’ve ever seen.
Hopefully these things can find their way back into popularity
An interesting note i want to mention, I'll dig out the episode in a bit but according to one of Sakura's videos me mentions that the GameCube Kirby AirRide game was actually unrelated to the N64 one. Not sure to what extent they're unrelated but it's was an interesting comment to bring up when he didn't need to
