- Gameplay from the sequel to the original Monster Rancher, Monster Rancher 2 released for the original Sony Playstation back in 1999. This was also during the time that Digimon and Pokemon were very popular.
(NOTE: It took me a while to find audio CDs to use when getting a monster that I would like as well as put the Monster Rancher 2 CD back in my PS3 when recording footage so please keep that in mind.)

😆 I played the heck out of this game as well and used as many of my CDs that I had to see what kind of monsters the game would generate.
Such a great game. My mother had such a huge CD collection back then that I would use in-game. That was the most fun in a video game I’ve ever had at that point.

This was so nostalgic to my youth. I wish you didn’t skip the drill scenes. Those were my favorite 😢
To be honest, the drill scenes get very repetitive after you watch them for the first time. I don't see why they are worth watching again after watching them the first time, but that's just me.
I had to get another copy of this game unfortunately, since I couldn't bring my original copy of the game that I bought. This game is very fun to play to this day.

How would you play this or generate monsters through an emulator?
It is possible. If you have the actual game disk, you can eject the game disk from your optical drive, insert the music CD of your choice in the optical drive, and then re-insert the Monster Rancher 2 game disk into the CD drive.
Better than pokemon & digimon games even for now in my opinion
too bad that monsters die in this game...

Monster Rancher 1 and 2 allow you to use music CDs in your music collection as monsters. Just follow the instructions that you see on the screen after selecting the 'Disc Stone' option at the shrine.

Wish the rom was fixed? People say it's a great game but my monster starts at the low 100 stats and every monster I face in e rank has 240+ stats and 1 hits my monster can't figure out how to train him high enough to win as even the starting mobs start with almost 2.5 the stats and no way to make cash. Such a broken game
With my first Monster i reached S rank. The game is not broken, but need to know many tips!
