The Labyrinth is very scary...... imagine be there, and all the lights went off...😮 I will be pleased to see Cathedral as well. Thank you for this incredible tour.
Never seen anything like this before. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I always wondered what it looked like inside and underneath the grounds of a cemetery! I always thought people were buried inside the walls of the buildings they are in. Not underneath them.
My gosh, what a huge place! I especially love the patina of the bronze and brass and the stained glass windows. I love your walks; I feel that I am walking with you. I know that I don't have the health to travel to these places, so I truly appreciate the opportunity to view them through your lens.
I'm sitting outside of the dollar general at Gum Springs, Oklahoma. 💵 We had to come and get my Grandpa some groceries. I love your content.💖 It snowed earlier in Gore(where I live, About 10 miles away from where I am now). My father died last year. I still need to get him a headstone. 🪦 He's buried in Vian, Oklahoma. The cemetery is called The Garden of Memories.🤎
I love this cemetery very huge and so much beautiful graves. The cathedral on the background is also nice and beautiful. Thanks for the times you spent over there. Martha
Laeken or Laken in the north west of Brussel is also the place where you'll find : - palace of the King. His "home". The one in central Brussels is his "office". - Heizel grounds with football stadium, Atomium and expo palaces.
I am absolutely amazed at the size of this cemetery, the outside monuments are something to be proud of, but the wear house for the dead is creepy to say the least. It is so spooky there with the long walkways running along the grave’ sides It really is depressing there and it’s wet on some floors don’t know if it rains, or is the wetness body fluids. I’m also just new to your videos, thank you for taking us on your tour of this very huge Cemetery !!
Thank you for this spectacular tour. The tomb in the chapel was dated 1749! Could you read out the dates as you stop please, I caught a few but missed many....... Deb of Oz.
Videos like this have a way of opening up rabbit holes with me. I saw the grave of Gen Storms and thought humm.. Google lol.. Lead me on a nice history lesson. I'd never sat and read up on the Belgian entrance to Africa or the Congo without little nudges like yours. So thx..
Brilliant cemetery and crypt! Seeing Rodin's The Thinker was astonishing. I really hope no-one pinches it. (There was a Barbara Hepworth sculpture in Dulwich Park in London which was stolen - they think by someone who didn't know what it was and cut it off the base for the metal. They would have got considerably less for the bronze than the value of the sculpture. Evil people.) Some of the sculptures on the tombs were excellent. It was sad how many of the mausoleums were damaged and neglected and how many defunct families they represent.
9:15 est... I'm just new to you, and I must say you are so respectful and funny at times. I've only just started watching this kind of thing and you are by far the best, I just skip over the rest. Thanks for all the insite...Pam from Toledo, Ohio
That cemetery was absolutely astonishing, but I was saddened to see the state of disrepair the crypt was in. Parts of the ceiling looked like it was about to cave in. 😢 Thank you for taking us on your journey through that Cemetery and its crypt.
WOW! Thanks for the video! It was very good, and the history is amazing! The crypt was cool with the natural light able to come through the skylights, they were based on what the old sailing ships used for below decks! That one hall area tho with the electric lights, for some reason the skylights were blocked or covered over? If you look, not all of the cemetery is over the crypts, as the pats are gravel and no skylights, and the mausoleums had floors that were removable for underground access, it reminds me of La Recoleta in Buenos Aires! I would love to go there, but at my age, I should stay home and watch!
I'm with you Dead Good. I've never seen a cemetery like this in all the many videos I've watched, and no one has ever talked about it. Just before you said the underground was straight out of a horror movie, I was thinking it reminds me of the halls in all the abandoned asylums videos I've seen. 😱❤
I love the crypts & graves on top of the ground. They remind me of the graves in Louisiana but not as elegant. The beautiful pink blossoms from the tree was such a stark contrast among the garden of stone. What a peaceful place.
Unfortunately I missed it live, my internet went on strike 😢...but just watched it...it's always fascinating how huge it all is...and I'm still wondering why the huge monuments above and the bodies below in the crypt 🤔....very Impressive...again and again... Thanks for showing us...😊, and for remember them....
I've had a recurring dream about this place, even though I've never been there. In the dream, I'm wandering through the halls of the mausoleum. It's not a scary dream, but it is weird. The thing I really remember is the statue of the mother and child with heads. I also remember the light is getting dim and time goes one, like the sun is setting outside. But I just keep walking around almost like I am going for a leisurely walk.
This is a very good video. I love all historical locations. My dad told me about many of these locations in Europe during his war years.Ask a historian I planned of coming to Europe to see for myself. I retired in 2013 6monts later I had a major MS relapse. My doctor tells me I cannot travel long distances because I stay sick. Maybe someday I can get better and so some things I had planned to do. You have done an excellent job with this video. I think u like myself are, a little inquisitive in what is under the slabs. Maybe you can travel all you like👍🇺🇸
10:49 Imagine it was dark and just a few candles lining the walls.. The think of the Phantasm Films and one of those Silver Balls hovering at the end of the corridor.. The Tall Man. : "They say when you die that you go to heaven.. You don't you come to us!"
This place is amazing. I would travel to Brussels just to see this place. Can't even imagine the cost to build this place. Wonder how many people are buried just in the underground itself?
Awesome! But please get a better 'torch' cellphone lights do not work very well inside the crypts. And I love seeing inside the crypts and mausoleums. This is probably the most interesting cemetery I have ever seen! Thank you
Beautiful cemetery. So many of these stones could be cleaned and read much easier. There is a cleaner now specially made for cleaning tombstones called D/2.
@@deadgoodwalks Agreed! A long while. I've just seen your Vienna and Cologne walks - I wonder if they use it there? They certainly keep the grounds very well.
What was the light source underground to the crypt? Looked like skylights but was there glass or just open? What did these skylights look like from the top down from the cemetery?
really fascinating place, i love seeing the different grave symbols too. One in particular was an hourglass with bat wings. It means that life is fleeting, though I usually see them with dove's wings. With the bat wings it probably has a connotation of death visits all too soon.
The stone they usually use in Belgian Cemetaries is 'Arduin' or 'Belgische Hardsteen' and I believe it is translated as 'Ashlar' or 'freestone'... The black colour is probably because of the acid in the rain.
Sorry I missed the live chat. I was in the hospital. Luckily the docs think I was taking this certain medication that no longer worked for me and in fact was causing an irregular heartbeat. Glad to be back home and will sleep in my own bed. 🌹
The Labyrinth is very scary...... imagine be there, and all the lights went off...😮
I will be pleased to see Cathedral as well.
Thank you for this incredible tour.
Amazing how much money these folks had to lavish on their tombs. Not to mention the planning and design efforts.
Never seen anything like this before. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I always wondered what it looked like inside and underneath the grounds of a cemetery! I always thought people were buried inside the walls of the buildings they are in. Not underneath them.
Wow. It looks like regular crypts above geound but it's a mausoleum with crypts underground. I've never seen anything like this!

Feels like walking through a cemetery map in an open RPG game. So vibrant with architectural vistas!

Sehr schön zu sehen, wie man repariert und erhält. Die Crypta ist ja riesig und wunderschön ❤❤❤
Danke fürs Zeigen und Mitnehmen 😘😘😘
Beautiful statues.

cemeteries are the creepiest places on earth and tombs are scary
@@LiviuDragon for you because you’re scared
I would love t see a map of the underground crypts. What an awe inspiring place.
Wow, it’s amazing and look at that big beautiful church in the back ground. So cool.
This was amazing! Thank you Dan!❤
Oh thanks ma'am.
They're all very interesting & some even beautiful! But I'd love to take a look in that church! That's Amazing! Hope you got a chance to peekinside! ❤

Such a well kept and maintained cemetery and environment.
Death dates would have made it more interesting.
Wow. The tombs with photos are spectacular :)
I can’t imagine how they built these. It’s incredible and I’m sure it’s a beautiful restful place to be.
I love watching your videos.i love the sound of your voice.
Amazing cemetery by far. Worth the travel

great video dan but did you already aired this one looks like i saw this one
At 15:54 it actually shows that someone was put to rest there in 2021! Amazing as the entire underground section seems forgotten.
To say it looked like a "Dead end" was an understatement.
You ain't lying. Spooky place.
Depressing

Nice tour! You should tour the Beautiful Church i saw in the Background.Very Big Church!
this place is beautiful and very well taken care of .
Amazing study on the Thinker. Thanks for the background info.
First time seeing something like this. America doesn’t have cemeteries like this. I think? Have this. Thanks!
You should visit The Antwerp old cementery Schoonselhof for its beautiful sculptures
Great video Dan thank you so much for sharing.
Amazing how different things are iam in USA Pennsylvania
Hi Dan I love your videos it's fascinating how they are well looked after. Can I say I like your accent
Just to let you know, just after the Van de Burgh tomb, someone told you to get out...lol. Brilliant video. Xx

Very well lit and tidy crypt. This cemetery seems well taken care of....not at all frightening. Interesting.
Been there Last week and it's very beautiful
Great video friend. Beautiful old structures in that old cemetery. Please read dates. I love ❤️ it. Amen 🙏.
It’s always so sad to see when these historic places aren’t maintained well, like Highgate in London.
Another amazing location!! Really enjoying this chsnnel!
Thank you
Amazing place looks as if it should of been used for a movie film location.. it has that mysterious fantasy vibe to it.

Wow so interesting seeing whats under the ground
Thank you. You should check out CIMITERO MONUMENTALE DE MILANO (Milan) Fantastic although that church where you are is surely beautiful.
Wow ! what a cemetery Dan !! 😊
I was thinking the same. It would have nice had you read the inscription.
About you question regarding the material used for the vaults and gravestones most of the stones are from granite and Arduin (bluestone)
The door that is ," miles away" reminds me of the hallways at the hospital that I work... so long and far away to the end...
I have a crazy question do people do these because they don't want to be in the ground? I don't know anything about it it's amazing
As far as I know that the reason. They don't want to be in the ground.
I'd be afraid to get lost down there!
You are so brave honestly
I love the tour, but wish you read the dates. Love to know how old the graves are and give an idea how old the cemetery are.
I wwill be in Brussels soon I must call and see this very interesting indeed thank you
So, when we went under ground, the monuments were connected from above?
Awesome! But please get a better 'torch' cellphone lights do not work very well inside the crypts. And I love seeing inside the crypts and mausoleums. This is probably the most interesting cemetery I have ever seen! Thank you
Even a bloody cheap flashlight from the local Poundland will do better than any cell phone light. If they use their cell phone, I can't see a thing...
Can't wait, your video's are awesome 😊
what an amazing cemetery i wonder what the oldest burial was
Need to raise your volume, thanks.
What an awesome and amazing crypt
The plate had the family crest on it?
I’m looking forward to seeing this❤

I really like this video going down in the crypts. Does look very eerie out of a horror movie!! The weather was perfect gloomy over cast sky.

Notice the glass blocks on the ground. These are to give light in the crypts.
Thanfully that this Necropolis hasn't been desecrated.
