Im a yound engineer because i LOVE taking stuff apart, i also tried using POTS to LAN for dial up but certainly failed because Frontier decided to cut off dial up last year, but the modem your using for the test line looks like it goes to the pc below it and when you dial a certain number it calls abother phone line thats plugged into anothet phone line located exactly by the other phone.
