Lovely video. Great to see all the hounds running around and enjoying themselves. When is the next one. We live in Coventry so not a million miles away. Could possibly attend and make a day of it.
It's the first Sunday of every month, 12:00-1:00pm. There's a Facebook group for the monthly gathering - facebook.com/groups/whippetwhirl.sheffield. I'm not sure if there's any others in the country, this is just our local one. Would be great to see as many slim pooches as possible though!
We have a blue whippet - Peggy Sue - and can really move when she wants to - but for a dog that's bred for speed she is the laziest dog we've ever had.....

I imagine it would be dangerous for people with smaller dogs to be there on this day. Are people warned to keep their little fluffy dogs away on these days?

Whippets are not agressive, even when they are in a pack, like in the video. Random kids may run with them together, their vibe is like cat in some way.
Thank you. That’s good to hear as my son is wanting to get one with his partner in the autumn this year. I have a Tibetan terrier who likes to play taking turns to chase and be chased but I find most dogs just chase her down and try to nip and growl when they get close. I hope the whippet has better manners 🥰
Whippies don’t bother other doggos. I have two, and a cat. They are fine with kitties too if you bring them up with them, and my whips like other dogs chasing them most, they’ve never had any unpleasant encounters with any other breeds at the dog park. They are the best!
