I love that you explained that Django unchained was your favorite Western and not because it was a default but because out of all of the westerns that you have actually seen it is your favorite! But I must say that I do prefer Forrest Gump over the Shawshank redemption 🤷🏽♂️ great vid bro!
Man that stream was a blast last night I agree! Yea Django is just one of my all time favourite movies period and is the movie that suddenly made me see all of Tarantino’s movies in a new light so I just wanted to clarify that I wasn’t picking just by default haha it really is a special movie to me. Really interesting picks. I think we have pretty divergent tastes but it's all good. Never seen Gone with the wind or Lion King. I seem to tend towards Tarantino's 90's movies but they are all great. Happy you went with a Brosnan bond film, they were all great action films.

It’s the best!!! 😅😱 I agree with you on the Brosnan Bonds! GoldenEye is the best one by far for me but I think they are actually all solid and very rewatchable movies! Good video and list! I haven’t watched Gone with the Wind... it’s on my list but it’s just so long haha. Your animation pick is great (I just don’t want to spoil any more of your list haha). We have the same drama pick. I need to get into more of the franchise your action pick is from. Your sci-fi was my action pick! Yeah, I picked your western pick as my pick by default haha. But I like it!
I’m a scaredy cat but I still love horror haha. Great pick for that as well! I love comedy, I never would have thought of your pick as comedy but I love that movie haha!

Thanks man! Yeah thanks again for challenging me to do it!! It took me a while to come up with picks that I could stand by but I’m pretty happy now with what I went with! It was a great way for me to get out of my comfort zone of just doing reviews and recaps!! YES get into THAT franchise that my action pick is from haha... and finish the one my adventure pick is from haha 😆

Lion King is probably my 2nd most watched animated film after the Toy Story franchise.
Shawshank Redemption changed my life!
Casino Royale is my fave James Bond movie tho.
Love Lord of the Rings - did not appreciate them first as a kid but I come to appreciate the franchise after a rewatch.
The Dark Knight - best Batman movie for me. one of my top 10 movies of all time.
Inception - my fave Nolan sci-fi! Saw this prob almost 10 times now haha
Django is also my fave tarantino film
Get Out is also one of my fave horror movies of all time! Sucker for horrors w/ social commentary, makes it more grounded.
OUAT in H - saw it 2x, a bit long for me but that revisionist take in the 3rd act is super satisfying!
It does sound like we have quite similar tastes indeed!
Toy Story is definitely up there in my all time favs and the series would probably be my top 4 3D animated films tbh!!
GoldenEye, Casino Royale & Skyfall are all basically tied for me so yea I hear ya! I would say Casino Royale is overall the best Bond movie but I just think GoldenEye would be my favourite more so if that makes sense haha.
I didn’t see Lord of the Rings until I was older but I mean yea they really I think made me fall in love with high fantasy (Game of Thrones is just straight up my favourite thing in entertainment ever so yea I’m a pretty huge fantasy nerd)
Also wasn’t big on Tarantino when I was younger but Django I just loved so much that it made me see his entire filmography in a new light and he is absolutely one of my fav filmmakers now!
I get why Shawshank is voted as the best movie of all time on IMDb because like you said it’s just the ultimate story of hope and perseverance that it ultimately changes your life for the better once you watch it and even when you rewatch it!
For me... The Dark Knight... yea... it’s just the best!

Really surprised me with some of the picks, especially comedy (I actually still have yet to see that movie 😬). Super solid choice for animation. When it comes to 2D animation, that is easily one of my top movies as well and I almost picked it for my list. I'm so terrible at picking only 1 favorite 😫 lol. No way you can go wrong with your choice for comic book. I agree that it definitely contains one of the best acting performances ever. Hands down. And I had an enormous back and forth argument with myself about picking that one or not. Seen it about a bazillion times. Nice choice for sci-fi too! I remember being so pleasantly confused by that movie and I feel like I always notice something new every time I watch it. Great list all around!

Yea thanks for challenging me, Dan of the Upside Dan challenged me a while back so some of my ideas for it were percolating but I still wasn’t ready to commit to my choices haha getting tagged by you as well I think was the push I needed to finally do the video! You should definitely give my comedy pick a watch, it’s a really good time imo! Yea I tried to pick the movies in each genre that if they were the only ones in that genre I could watch ever again then these would be the 10 movies (well I guess 12 technically since I kinda cheated for my adventure pick haha) just enough variety of what I like to keep me sane if they were the only movies I had on a desert island... with electricity I guess? 😆 but yea even so there are many movies I would miss that didn’t make my list so I get what you mean about how hard it is picking just one! 😂

Really great picks, the only ones I have not seen are inception and Django. I think Goldeneye is my favourite bond movie just because I loved the N64 game so much.
I have yet to play the original N64 game but I really want to! I think even putting the legacy of the video game aside though, the movie itself really is spectacular and arguably the best Bond movie! In terms of what you want from a Bond movie it really knocks it out of the park in every category I would say more so than any other film in the franchise! It has 4 amazing Bond villains in Alec Trevelyan, Xenia Onatopp, General Ourumov and Boris (ok that last one I’m not sure is amazing but entertaining haha). It has arguably the best lead Bond girl in Natalya Simonova imo, I don’t think any other Bond girl is as integral to the plot of a Bond film than her at least not in just a romantic motivation type sense for Bond but her actions actually are what allow the plot to happen and ultimately what allow Bond to triumph in the end! Also has probably the best Q scene in the franchise as well... and maybe the best opening sequence! ... I could go on haha so that’s why I say Casino Royale and Skyfall are all around probably better films but GoldenEye is the best ‘Bond’ film... checking off all of those ‘Bond’ boxes so superbly!

@@ericthorpereviews Possibly? Lion King is definitely up there but Mulan or Tarzan are also strong contenders. I've lost count on how many times I've watched those 3 as a kid AND an adult lol
