Thanks Brian! Yea for sure I think I was the perfect age when I saw TDK for it to really just wow me to maximum effect! I agree The Dark Knight is still the best film overall but I think there are some aspects of The Batman that were even better such as the combat sequences (but trust me I am not a hater of TDK’s combat I think it’s underrated tbh). I loved Pattinson as Batman and Bruce Wayne for the most part, but like I said Bale will always be my personal fav… and yea with Catwoman like I said they have all been great but I may just agree that Kravitz’s Catwoman is the best one yet! Thanks so much Scofield! Well we seem to basically agree that this movie overall is a masterpiece! So with the Joker I agree he does look like he fell in acid only… and perhaps I should have put this in my review, Matt Reeves has actually said that it is some sort of disease that this version of the character was born with that is the reason for his grisly appearance so I don’t think this version fell into acid like in the comics… even though again I totally think that’s what he looks like so they might as well have gone with that! 🤣 Only time will tell how Barry Keoghan’s Joker will be, but from the little bit we have I’m cautiously optimistic for now, but literally everything else about the movie was perfect to me. And you are not alone in wanting Willem Dafoe to play the Joker! I agree he also would be perfect for the role!

Thank you! Personally I had fun with this film but it’s definitely not Snyder’s best, that being said I thought it was creative as far as zombie movies go! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was excited for about 30-40 min because, yea, it IS unique but there were too many things after that, that weren’t working for me.

Hey Anthony thanks so much for checking it out I’m glad it was interesting! Yea that’s very true of Iron Man, I definitely was wondering how that would work before I saw Avengers haha. I just feel like the DCEU if anything, despite saying otherwise, has invited us basically to consider The Dark Knight Trilogy canon if we so choose, since so far at least, it seems to have gone out of its way to not outright contradict it’s continuity. I know some may point to the fact that Bale’s Batman would never kill but I’m assuming that would have been the case with Affleck’s as well had we seen him pre-Robin’s death. If anything I think because the Nolan films presented the most altruistic version of the character that we’ve seen on screen to date that would make his fall from grace in BvS and eventual redemption in Justice League all the more tragic but in the end satisfying.

Agreed! Personally Bale is my fav (for live action at least, I won’t deny Kevin Conroy IS Batman) but Affleck is a close second for me! I just can’t help but feel the Dark Knight Trilogy could have been the perfect starting point for the DCEU because of Batman being the most popular DC character and just how perfect they got Batman in those movies! I’m glad I was able to pick shows that most haven’t seen! The Leftovers is a bit out there so I never know for sure if people I recommend it to will like it as much as me but it really is something quite special and worth checking out I think! I love the first season but I know that many may find it a bit dreary but I promise you that it’s worth getting through because S2 and S3 go places you really won’t see coming if you’ve only seen season 1! The writing, directing and acting in the leftovers is as good as it gets imo! It’s my favourite show other than Game of Thrones. Love Death and Robots I wouldn’t put as high since some episodes are way better than others since it’s an anthology but it’s just an extremely fascinating project that is worth watching simply for the artistry!

If they produce the next one in Australia like they did they the first one, I'm guessing they'll go with an Aussie actor, probably under 25 to last through a couple of sequels... Hmm... After suffering through so many CW DC shows I’m excited to finally get one (well other than HBO’s amazing Watchmen series) that may be great! I think the way things end for peacemaker in this movie sets him up for a very complicated and compelling character arc for the show!! 😁

Thanks Joe! I suppose I am starting to see where you’re coming from but that just wasn’t my experience I guess. I found with the first one it was harder to buy Will Smith as an assassin than it was Idris Elba in this one. You didn’t mention it here but I know you’ve said that you prefer Margot’s performance as Harley in the first one, that I can kind of see. I think her very first scene in the giant cage may still be her best scene as Harley and it honestly feels like it was a scene from a better movie. Which makes me think now with all the Ayer cut hype that it actually was from a better movie. Would you like to see the Ayer Cut? Thanks for watching man! 😁

It’s not that I meant that I couldn’t think of sequels better than the original but because of like you said the first one being kinda terrible and this one actually being pretty great I meant it’s probably the biggest negative gap quality wise between a movie and it’s follow up that I can think of since most of the ones you listed I would agree are better than the original but the originals are still pretty great so I wouldn’t say the negative gap of quality is anywhere near as big with those as it is with these two Suicide Squad fims… if that made any sense haha 😅 Thanks for watching man and I’m glad you also had a fun time with this film!
