God I loved this show so much as a kid. Scott Bakula was the perfect person to cast back then; you could see the emotion in every 'character' he played. Same with Dean Stockwell. I really hope this show does the original justice. Not mad that they remade it but I have high expectations. Here's hoping it lives up to the original, even just a tad. The perfect plot twist would be for this new character to leap into Sam Beckett, played by Bakula, for a season one finale.

Pretty much. That and the relationship between the two leads (mah husbands done forgot about me, sob sob, will keep coming up in a "omg he almost remembered!" meanwhile next to no one watching will care about that plot...) is going to be a focus point rather than the actual helping people thing.
I genuinely liked it. It's too short but given the reception I bet it'll have more time to grow with season 2, certainly strengthening the ties with the original show.
Sometimes reboots are instantly magical. For me Brave New Worlds was a hit from the first show. It's both wonderful and awful that shows we love can be surprising. Thankfully some folks are more patient than myself. I hope this one will develop in wonderful ways.
I hope we see Scott yeah. Given the....uncertain fate of his character at the end of the series, I'd like it if Sam shows up unexpectedly, when the new guy is at a low point. Like some plot where he's lost connection to the future, the hologram system is busted and he thinks he's never going to re-establish. And then we hear Sam's voice, and he turns around to see a smiling guy, that gives him some cryptic, but insightful information. Basically, have Sam take the place of the bartender in the series finale. Clearly smirking a tiny bit because he has insider information, but definitely on the new guy's side to help him do his task.

(Kinda sad we're not going the super future route and sticking it in the present for the reboot, but ya can't have everything.)
This series entirely skips the "possessed" person being re-located to the future facility for the duration of the leap. What happens to those people when they wake back up, if that's how it works here, as themselves days or weeks later with their problems solved and no memory of how, or what they have said to their friends and family while they were Ben.
@@WinkLinkletter From everything I've read, the new Project Quantum Leap has "no waiting room" for the person that Ben is occupying. It's like his consciousness "takes over theirs" for the duration of the leap. The question is: "Where is Ben's body, if it's not somewhere in the past?"

I agree about the special effects, so why isn't there ONE shot in this entire trailer, showing the hologram lady walking through a wall or something? Why miss that opportunity when it was a staple of the original show? And where's the "blang blang blang" hologram sound? And the iconic hand link? And someone saying "oh boy"?

I think it was a mistake having his hologram contact understand so much of what the ins and out of what he'll be doing is. I think it was a very smart idea to put Ernie Hudson in the trailer. I will be watching it
QL will always hold a special place in my heart i absolutely loved this show back in the day I remember looking forward to it coming on the tv every week, Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell (R.I.P) were epic in it, I started this new QL series not long ago and am a few episodes in so far it’s meh ok but it’s early days, it’s good the producers continued the story paying dues to Dr Beckett and Al rather than remake the show from scratch.
Oh boy, this is a surprise - the first I'd heard of this. At first I assumed this was a new reboot of the original show, but from what I can tell, this is the same show, still created by Bellisario, which is fascinating. This must be the first ever sci-fi show set in the future to actually come back on air AFTER the original future date and continue as a contemporary show? Truly fascinating. And having Ernie Hudson in it is exciting too! :-) As for this trailer, it looks generally OK, though I'm concerned that it just "spells everything out" plainly, instead of building mystery and intrigue. It's almost one big spoiler, for anyone who hasn't seen the show before. It would have been better if the trailer left us all asking questions, challenging our preconceptions, and wondering what was going on, seen more from the guy's perspective - instead of just cutting straight to a long monolog giving all the answers. I find that lack of basic storytelling concerning. I'm also very concerned about the casting of the lead actor. Scott Bakula was rugged with a commanding presence and the appropriate maturity, charm and social skills for this kind of inter-personal role. But with this new guy, I'm not seeing any charm, personality or strength in this trailer, he looks weak, bland, naive, fresh-faced, not like a leading guy. Frankly, I would much rather Ernie Hudson had taken this role himself, a truly strong performer! Also not sure about having a female hologram. The male-female dynamic is a complex one which could distract attention from the actual episode. She also does a LOT of talking in this trailer while the supposed lead says very little. This gives her far too much prominence for a secondary character. We should be getting to know HIM and seeing who HE is first. Finally, I felt the trailer was missing three small but important details: 1) A nice shot of the hologram lady walking through stuff, with the "blang-blang-blaang" noise. 2) Where's the hand link? You can't have Quantum Leap without the hand link! 3) Someone saying "Oh boy". I mean, come on, someone HAS to say that! Looking forward to watching this show eventually, though I'll probably have a long wait, since here in the UK they rarely show new American drama on TV any more. :-(
Great points, did you watch it? Just on episode 2 now but can't get into it, no one has karisma and it feels too flat. Also don't like the WOKE approach.
So I'm watching first ep and it's supervising good. What I love about it is that is doesn't ignore the original series. That's a good thing as it will draw in the original fans. That being said the network is going to eventually have to find a way to bring Scott back for and ep or two. If they were smart they do it for series finally. I fear if they don't bring Scott it will hender the show more then it would help it. There was a show called 24 with Kiefer Sutherland. When 24 ended they left Keifer Sutherland character hanging much like Scott character. They later created a spin off series called 24 Legacy. The show last one season and was canceled. It just couldn't pull the ratings. I believe it had a lot to do with how Kiefer Sutherland character was treated. I think fans were hoping he would pop up and his character would find some sort of satisfying resolution while passing the touch to some one else. Sadly this didn't happen. I don't think fans could get past it and stopped watching. I believe Quantum Leap will suffer the same fate if they ignore Sam Beckett. I don't think they need to do anything massive. Just have him pop up in season finally and season 2 premier and resolve his character story and do a passing of the torch. I think this is incredible important and needs to happen other wise fans are going to like Sam Beckett was left hanging and I do think it will sit right with fans.
I can still recite the bit at the beginning on the original that starts.......... "Theorizing that one could time travel, Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum leap accelerator and vanished"
They have excellent writers for this show. I am totally hooked. I also like the way they connect to the old series. Paul Dale Roberts, HPI's Esoteric Detective; Halo Paranormal Investigations.
These are the quotes that stood out as those writer’s Premonitions from the Multiverse. “This is bigger than anything you can imagine” “Obviously I time travel into other People” That is called “Quantum Entanglement”. “You leap in the people - to help them - or someone around them” “Changing history for the better” The Multiverse does work through Telepathy between the Humans of the Advanced Universes - and those of this Universe - that are Willing to Listen. This is the ERA of drastic CHANGE.
Yes. It takes place 30 years later, and the entire premise of the show is that they are trying to find Scott Bakula's character who got trapped in time.
Either way Scott bakula better turn up. I heard part of the plot was he keeps jumping till he finds 'Sam' who got 'lost in time' in the same project years ago. Something like that anyway.
Having watched this show obsessively as a kid it's going to be really strange and cool having the series now take place in my own lifetime. I'm really looking forward to this. It still seems like Quantum Leap.
@@bantehayes9973 I'm pretty sure the present day that Sam Beckett was from was 1996. The show was made in the 80s and he was supposed to be from the near future. According to IMDb his initial leap was supposed to have been in 1995. So making the new series present day our present day makes sense because it's now 25 years later and they're supposed to be digging up this old project.

It was perfect time because his commitment to NCIS Nee Orleans has ended. NBC executives dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully the Night Court reboot will do well also
He is to white, straight and male for the show.. Just look at the show.. You know they had a set number of roles based on race, sex and skin color.. They didn't choice the best, they chose the Wokest..
So its several years after Sam Beckett so would of thought the leap room would of advanced. But instead of getting smaller than the original its gotten massive, yet still has the same bug.

If they write this well, fans will come. The original series was BELOVED by fans and as long as they treat the material well, people will watch this.
WRONG!!!! Shit show filled with New Age BS!
Not gonna happen. Its going to be all anti white men bullshit
As for this trailer, it looks generally OK, though I'm concerned that it just "spells everything out" plainly, instead of building mystery and intrigue.
Finally, I felt the trailer was missing three small but important details:
1) A nice shot of the hologram lady walking through stuff, with the "blang-blang-blaang" noise.
Shit show filled with New Age BS!
Your grammar and spelling is terrible.
Scott should be the new Al.
Scott refused to participate in this wokeness, so not gonna happen.
I can still recite the bit at the beginning on the original that starts.......... "Theorizing that one could time travel, Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum leap accelerator and vanished"
This is awesome!
is this a tv series like the first one or a film ?
a tv show
@@Kevin-593 good. thanks
I so hope this is good .. just saying ... Wish they had a up to date version of the original tune
They have excellent writers for this show. I am totally hooked. I also like the way they connect to the old series. Paul Dale Roberts, HPI's Esoteric Detective; Halo Paranormal Investigations.
YES I loved the old one the original actor better make a appearance
Has to make an appearance without a doubt
These are the quotes that stood out as those writer’s Premonitions from the Multiverse.
“This is bigger than anything you can imagine”
“Obviously I time travel into other People”
That is called “Quantum Entanglement”.
“You leap in the people - to help them - or someone around them”
“Changing history for the better”
The Multiverse does work through Telepathy between the Humans of the Advanced Universes - and those of this Universe - that are Willing to Listen.
This is the ERA of drastic CHANGE.
Does the reboot and the original take place in the same timeline take off where the og stopped?
Something like that anyway.
looks really good
The theme song better be EXACTLY the same as the original or SO HELP ME
Having watched this show obsessively as a kid it's going to be really strange and cool having the series now take place in my own lifetime. I'm really looking forward to this. It still seems like Quantum Leap.
Yeh I was surprised when they said 2022. Was that the year he was from in the original show? I can’t remember.
Can't wait! Hope they didn't ruin it.
9/10 are ruined!
They ruined it!😑
I loved the OG version. I saw a documentary that Scott Bakula was in talks to return but NBC refused to let him be part of this new incarnation. It was perfect time because his commitment to NCIS Nee Orleans has ended. NBC executives dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully the Night Court reboot will do well also
Not sure where you got that from, but it was Bakula himself who turned down the offer to return, he stated so in his instagram post.
I like the note "NBC original" being a remake of older series. Nice "original"
Mason Alexander park being included worries me, is it watchable?
Such amazing tv show i like
omaigot they remake it my fav tv show when i was 12
So is the show any good?
Nothing made in the current age will ever match the depth and vibrancy of the film made in the 90’s and prior same with music! Mankind has lost it’s touch unfortunately.
I hope they find Sam and bring him back.
Too this day I’m surprised that they never bring back sliders
We’ve lost you Sam but sit tight we’ve got zigy looking for you.
I remember hearing they were trying to get Scott bakula to come back but I guess it didn't work out
Scott probably didn't want to get on a show this woke!
I’m in this show!
Some things need to be left alone
Yes please!!!!
Would be interested if it had the original music lol
Cool really likecthe first one
Im an old fan but I'll give this a chance
Looks very disappointing from the trailer. Should have made a movie before Dean Stockwell passed away.
Starring Chet Li...in...Quantico Li-EP at large...for the record judge Lance Ito was not available for the part and declined as well...he said he had to return some tapes...
I must make time in my diary to re-watch the original.
They say lightning doesn't strike twice and on this showing it would seem to be true!!
Do we have any original ideas anymore
Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula were the best and first :D
The original was the best in the 90s, don't screw it up!
its 2022, you know their going to at some point. "you can REWRITE history"...
@@MLPDethDealr32 it already has that cheesy NBC feel to it
They reboot this show
But sliders still hasnt been given a reboot wtf 😤
Do you really want to watch a rebooted sliders where the men wear women's clothes and make-up just like this stupid reboot?
There is so many questions to this if he doesn’t remember who he is how does he know he’s In a different time?
The original was very wholesome
This one isn't! 🤮
Guh! Can't Hollywood come up with any original ideas anymore? Quantum Leap didn't need a remake.
they just need one episode where they find Sam and help him get home.. just one episode!!
Hopefully they actually get him home before this series ends unlike like all the others. Where the people, fictional characters from my childhood that never made it home.
Que! Es amarillo?
Hold up there’s one rather 2 episodes in that trailor that haven’t aired yet. One is as a football player ( not seen in the trailor) the other as a rockstar. There’s 6 episodes left this season where are they ?
Wish it was a continuation and not a reboot
