No I think it was just that he probably felt uncomfortable to lay against. The women obviously had something soft to lay against and Koji was just holding him mid air so they didn’t have an uncomfortable feeling to them.

I'd be nervous. the last kid I have held was when I was a kid myself. I am not around kids regularly so definitely there would be anxiety cause the fear of dropping a child is scary. It likely would not happen but if your not used to holding a living being than it makes sense. I also do not have a pet.
I held many babies when I was a kid. But when I became a teenager I became nervous about holding them because I didn't want to drop them. Now I'm okay holding them again.

Babies don't understand the concept of hate, think it was just tired or overstimulated from all the strangers. It's natural (and healthy) for a baby to have one or two primary caregivers they cling to. The process of slowly expanding the circle of 'safe adult caregivers' takes some time and alot of reassurance.
I think many adults with zero baby/children experience think kids or babies think like adults - you just have to make a connection and be accepting, get on their level - don't act like it's some strange alien being - talk,play,sing ect.

When my husband and I held our baby son for the first time we were both so clumsy! (our son is now 11, and he was followed shortly afterwards by his sister, just a year and a half later!) It was weird, I had carried him in my womb and then given birth to him and yet I didn't even know how to hold him. I felt like such an idiot, haha! But my husband and I learnt shortly afterwards.

Wow, that's just shocking to me. I've always been a natural with babies/kids so imagining being a full grown adult that's never held a baby and being so scared - wow. It kind of made me tear up a little when the lady in the purple sweater took the baby - the emotion on her face was palpable - I could see it completely filled an emptiness in her that she didn't really understand.
I know right, same! I've always loved babies and kids, even when I was a baby myself lol. I work in a daycare and the preschoolers at my church, I just adore them and feel like a natural lol. I find it so odd that they've never held a baby even once! I wasn't even 2 when I first held a baby, my baby brother, with my mom's help of course.
