  • I turned one section of my backyard into another desert garden. This time, I used all Echinopsis and Trichocereus cacti. These types of cactus are known for their large, colorful and attractive flowers. It will surely be a spectacular display if I can make these cacti bloom every year.

      @@CactusCaffeine LOL.....well....not to give you my life story but I grew up in Phoenix AZ and saw slot of desert landscape...then I spent my high school years in Washington state where EVERYTHING is green....then I came back in '05 and HATED desert landscaping.... mostly I think because of all the dilapidated yards with half dead under cared for cactus with patches of overgrown Bermuda grass 🤮....
      But what I've definitely come to understand and appreciate about desert landscape is the subtle beauty of it all.....so maybe there isn't a bunch of green or a hundred flowers everywhere but the beauty is definitely there!!!!

    I think the cuttings in the back are Trichocereus spachianus. A common cactus used in landscaping in so. California. Large white night bloomers!!! Love the poco!!! Should be quite a sight next spring!!!! Turned out great!!! Thanks for sharing Ana!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks ,out to Las Vegas, have a wonderful evening!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!! ✌💖🌵🌺🌿🏵🌲🌻🌳🌹🌴🌷🪴😃👍

      Oh, you could be right on the Trichocereus spachianus. I looked up the name and they look similar in growth pattern. I do have another Spachianus but it is fatter as it is nursery pampered. I just planted it in the ground in another section of my backyard. Hope they all survive our brutal summer.

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  2 года назад +1

      Go for it if you can! I find it easier to take care of them when they are in the ground. As long as I know that they are hardy, I’d rather have them permanent. But of course, the majority, I still have to keep them in pots and move them as season changes. 😉
