Hi, Ramon. Have you ever considered building a copy of Cooder’s daphne blue Strat? I love the sound he’s got now with the Guyatone pickup, whatever he’s got in the bridge, and the Bigsby.
The Guitar Show I’d love to see it done. I think the blue Strat and the Vox Bill Wyman Bass Mandocello conversion are my favorites of his. The sound of the Vox on You Must Unload is sublime.
I like to keep the strings damped when the slides in motion but open it up when it's over the 5th, 7th or 12th.. it's a very happy coincidence (or perhaps completely deliberate) that in open tunings, the 1, 4 and 5 chords are in the same locations as the harmonics..
Nice video! A good tip is to mute the strings behind the slide by gently resting your first finger down as you play. This stops any sympathetic notes from ringing out - which if left unchecked can be like fingers down a chalk board!
I'm bloody awful at slide wether Electric or acoustic tbh , but I do enjoy listening ! A 3-string cigar box is no sweat though lol. One of my favourites is Bukka White, I do love all that 30's & 40's stuff . One of the best guys I have heard on RUclips playing pre-war , depression era Blues is Edward Phillips . Cheers Ramon , stay safe bro 👍
@@TheGuitarShow Yep(s) flatwound, pardon my french buddy ! hehe. Have you received the photos that I've sent you ? I have not yet received your confirm. Thanx
Excellent lesson my friend! Great slide tone!
Thanks bro🙏
