Ik had het zelf ook niet verwacht dat het nog zo goed zou komen. We zijn er blij mee en deze heeft weer een mooi plekje gekregen. Bedankt weer voor het kijken 🤗
Hello Frank, you made a nice tool to make beads. It does take experience and workmanship to make a nice bowl of such a piece of wood, well done frank. Cheers, Hans Stay safe and keep turning
For such a rotten piece of wood you sure made it look nice Frank. The resin and acetone sure seems to do the trick. I also really like the beads. I almost bought one of those tools awhile back and might consider doing it. I am sure there is a learning curve but that can be fun. Take care my friend. Gary
Thanks Gary. I also really like the beads. It makes a simple bowl just a little bit more interesting. I still want to adjust my beading tool a bit, but that's fun to fine-tune this. Take care! Frank.
This was the first video I watched after returning from vacation. Great work Frank! Rotten wood? Maybe but actually this is a piece of driftwood which I picked up myself from the shore close to my home. With a piece like that you never know what you are going to find inside. If you considered this to be a challenge (which it wasn't) then you certainly passed the test. 😎 And your tiny workshop seems to become more and more like the Tardis!
I hope you had a nice holiday. Was this the piece of driftwood? Luckily I could do something with it. And luckily you appreciate it too. Tardis? from the series Doctor Who?🤔 Sorry, that's before my time.🤷♂️
I guess you showed this guy Leo a thing or two about what is possible. If it were a challenge. LOL. Great effort that yielded a superb bowl Frank. The resin and the beads all contributed to its beauty👍 Thanks for sharing🙏 Take care. -Mike😷 p.s. I am wondering if you grind the bead tool to be more of a neg. rake scraper if it might work better ?
Great saved piece, Frank 👍 I recognize from somewhere a resin and acethone method 😉💪 What You think about it? About stink I know everything 😁 Good idea to make a tool for beads. Is it from an old gouge? I'm waiting until mine will end to make own. Also I like this peg with treats to hold chuck 👌 Bowl in final outcome looks very nice. To leave a natural look was a good idea. Bowl looks like some of antiques from Balcans. Take care my friend 👍 Rav
The acetone is a very good method. I like it. I made the beading tool from a old spindel gouge. I had already some old gouges from a garage sale before I started with woodturning. Now I can finally use them. The bowl looks and feels indeed very nice. Thanks for watching my friend🤝. Take care! Frank.
Mooi resultaat weer Frank.
Thank you Robert. Yes, the Coronet Herald is a light, but manageable lathe. I can move it on my own, and that's handy in a tiny shop 🤗. But you're right. If I put sand in the legs and anchor the legs to the floor, it's a lot more stable than it is now. Lack of quality? 🤔 It is the best lathe in terms of price-quality ratio that I can buy here in the Netherlands I think. And also with a 5 year warranty. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for watching the video. Frank.
@@TheTinyWorkshop , Record is known for its quality. I think lathe manufacturers have had to make lathes lighter do to higher shipping costs. Even on my heavy Powermatic I added a hundred pounds. Makes a big difference
Very nice work Frank and a great save! Love the beads and the matte finish! Cheers!
Thank you Tim. I am also very satisfied with this result.
Well done. Wood that far gone can be quite a chore to do anything with. Very nice.
It was a real challenge. Thanks for watching.
Frank.
I like the beads and the finish. Beautifully done 👍
Thanks Jojo 🤗

Thank you Hans. 🤝
Hi Frank, Great bowl from a difficult piece of wood. Love the beading tool. Take care Frank. Cheers, Huw
Hi Huw. The beading tool needs some adjustments, but is a nice tool indeed.
Take care and thanks for watching.
Nice bowl! I too enjoy the challenge of a less than ideal piece of wood.
Thanks Sean. It is extra exciting with this type of wood to see whether something beautiful can be made of it. Thanks for watching.
Frank.
Very nice work 👏! I like the homemade tool. Everything homemade is a lot cheaper lol. Thanks for sharing! Take care and GOD BLESS 🙏!
Thanks Stephen. It is not only a cheaper tool, this way you also understand how the tool works.
Great work Frank. nice looking bowl given what the wood was like.
Thank you 🤗

Neat looking bowl
Thank you Chris!
Turned out great. Nice job 👍. Rc
Thank you Rc. 🤝
very nice looking piece great save, like the way you are so organized with your tool storage!
Thanks Luie. In a small workshop, organization is important.
But there is still plenty to improve.🤔

Great result from such a punky piece. Could be that Leo stitched you up but I think he just likes his rotten wood!
Leo is a wonderfully generous man. I got a lot of beautiful wood from him. This must be a teasing action from him. I like it!
Thanks for watching.

p.s. I am wondering if you grind the bead tool to be more of a neg. rake scraper if it might work better ?
Thanks Mike. I do like the beads in this bowl.
Good point to try a negative rake. I wil try this next time.
Take care.

Nice work, but I am not impressed with the lack of quality in your Record lathe. Too light duty for me.
Thank you Robert.
