Hi! I love your tutorials, they're super helpful and very well put together! I've been working with KwikSew 2722 and have a baggy crotch because of the weird front 'dart' thing :(. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to take it in or fix it?
Gurl love Hancock Fabrics. I made a gothic lolita dress with this amazing red material with black lace pattern on it from there. Also, I want that coffee table. >>;
Hi, I actually already have a bodysuit but I'd like to cut out a V-shape on the back. Do you have any advice on how to do that without ruining the whole thing? It's the H&M maison martin margiela bodysuit and the fabric seems pretty sturdy.
A fellow Huntress cosplayer! JOYOUS DAY! I thought that was a Huntress in your display case back there! xD I am doing a long walkthrough on my tumblr about my Huntress build, but I'd dearly love to see what others do as well. On behalf of all her fans, I put in a request for this. Secondly, have you ever had this misfortune of trying Simplicity 8286? Reviews are deeply mixed and I was wondering if you could shed some solid light upon it. Should I go hunting for a different pattern? This seems to mix knit AND woven fabrics and there's just no way I can see that ending up well.
So, I have a problem. I used your part 1 and part 2 videos last year to make my Black Cat costume. I also bought the recommended pattern. I'm making a Spider-Woman Gwen Stacy costume now, and I can't find a pattern without a front seam anywhereeeeee. The ones you have suggested unfortunately are no longer made... looking online they're rather expensive and I would rather not spend $15+shipping. Are there any other patterns out there that you would recommend?
Thala Hash Oh man I had no idea that they are no longer being made. After a quick search I couldn't find one either. WELL. The best thing I can recommend is build a mock up out of the pattern that has the front seam. If I recall right it's a straight seam so it shouldn't affect shape to much if you pattern it out. Once you made the mock up, draw out on the mock up where you want your new seams to be. Cut on those lines and add your seam allowance and use it as your pattern piece. Hope that helps!
+Moggleberries I would say do not use this pattern for Spider Gwen. Black Cat I made it work. But unless you know pattern making (I got lucky because I took some extra classes in college just for fun on pattern making and garment construction). But even with my knowledge and history I decided to not make it myself with a pattern. The reason is bevause when you use solid colors for Gwen's suit, it kind of masks your body and makes you look really flat and unshapely. I would suggest purchasing a pattern (Google "Gunhead design RPF spider Gwen suit file"). This will be the digital file only ($40ish). You need to resize it in Photoshop to make it fit you otherwise it'll be too big. Then you can either send it into somewhere like Fabric On Demand and they will print the suit for you on special spandex (this looks the best and is the most comfortable). But the issue with that is that you have to sew it yourself. Getting it printed costs about $160, so you really want to be careful and...
+Moggleberries Sorry, I got cut off. You want to be super careful and sew it right the first time, because otherwise you'll have to pay to have the whole thing printed again since it comes to you as one piece. This is also why resizing the suit file on photoshop to fit your body is soooooooo important. I did it wrong and my suit was about an inch or two too small and really tight, almost uncomfortable. I couldn't move without straining it and I ultimately busted the zipper at my neck while raising my arms :'( so now I have to pay to get a new one. BUT your other option is to do what I'm doing the second time around. There are people who will size the file for your body exactly, print the suit, cut the fabric, sew it for you, and even sew an extra mask or boots with it (at an extra charge). All you have to do is either provide the file you purchased to them via an email attachment or just send them the link to the store you want to buy it from and they will take care of everything.
+Moggleberries This usually costs about $300-500 depending on special things you have added (like a face shell, lenses, boots, extra hood, etc...) but I personally think all in all... It's better to spend the money up front all at once rather than spend some here and there and risk messing it up. I'm very confident in my abilities and I still managed to get a few things wrong. It was good for a few photos and one day at the convention but it's useless now and I spent almost $250/300 in the end doing it myself anyway AND I spent countless hours on it. BUT if you're a do it yourselfer like me, I believe in you :) there are no patterns out there for this suit, but if you learn how to make patterns you could do this no problem (I could do it, I just don't want to take the time haha I'm too busy already)
I am trying to make Yumi Ishiyama's second Lyoko outfit in the show Code Lyoko (The purple and pink one). I'm wanting to make it for Comic Con which is in November. I've never made a skin suit before (but I have made a mermaid suit) and I have tried to research to see if anybody else has made her outfit and I cant find anything, if you have some tips on how on create her skinsuit pattern I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks
+Anzh Castillo People often do that to create duct-tape dummies and is a common method in creating animal costumes. It's good for sending to someone when they are making you something and you aren't physically there for trying on the costume to adjust it right. I'm sure there are people who use that method and instead of making a dummy, instead just cut the tape to create patterns.
Anzh Castillo I've done it. It's only my upper half though. I did it following Evil Ted's method. I basically wore a throw away shirt, had my bro cover me in duck tape, that no I had to mark out where I made the cut, tape it back together, tape up the bottom, and Stuff it. Used it for a Greater Dog cosplay.

As someone who is watching this much later but also hoping to make Spider Gwen can I ask how you went with it? Was it hard? I'm so afraid.

Is there any tips for a strapless body suit? I want to make one that can cover my midsection but finding a pattern is near impossible! Any ideas?
the pattern she has at 3:05 shows one with thin straps, that could probably be altered easily enough, or you could use invisible straps for it
sew the top to a stapless bra
You are awesome.
any advice on a wrestling tight?
Hi. Where can i get pattern for latex catsuit?
bottom left corner at 4:12 :)
Has anyone made a pattern by having tape put onto you and having someone draw it out in order to then cut out the pieces in fabric and sew them?
I had this idea the other day!!! I don't know how well it would work though
