The Dark Knight Rises was a massive disappointment after the Dark Knight, as it was always going to be without Heath Ledger. I’ve only seen it twice and probably need to watch it again. I never liked the fact that Batman basically retires at the end. That seems uncharacteristic of the character. Bane was just a glorified henchman and died like a pussy. It’s still a decent film, but definitely the weakest of the three Nolan films.

I didn't mind him retiring - the franchise had established that he was barely physically capable of walking unaided after 8 or 9 years (excluding training) due to the physical strain of being Batman - meaning that he had to end the trilogy retired, dead or permanently incapacitated. They had two opportunities to kill him off (the bomb and Talia's betrayal), one opportunity to incapacitate (broken back), but they went with a terrible fake-out death and retirement.
What i did mind was the painfully on-the-nose Robin reference since anything that reminds me of Batman Forever p!sses me off. Rather than copy Schumaker's mistakes, Nolan could have had the series end with Wayne training Terry McGinnis. Sure, McGinnis was canonically a teen when he met Wayne, but at least he wasn't the "Boy Wonder", and was always meant to be Batman's replacement rather than his sidekick.

That said i have come to appreciate Rises more over time, it is very well directed and an engaging watch, warts and all. I used to love Begins but feel the second half of that movie is just stock comic book action. Whereas the stuff in Rises is at least unique, even if uneven from a story perspective. Good stuff! I was hoping that you'd mention *Gotham* season 5, which, it came out in 2019, but just in case, _/!\spoilers alert /!\_ ...
... was a nice homage to Nolan's TDKRises.
Sure, Talia was replaced by Nyssa, but I adore Jaime Murray and IMHO she did a much better job as Ra's daughter than Marion Cotillard did as Talia in TDKRises.
I also have a soft spot for Bane in *Gotham* season 5, Shane West was an inspired casting choice, and the way he was played up as both a tribute to Tom Hardy's Bane (the similarities are too numerous to list) but the show didn't bother keeping the stuff that didn't work in the movie (mostly the mumbling & the somewhat weak motivation à la "I'm doing this because I'm in love with Ra's daughter").
Speaking of Ra's al Ghul himself, even if he has never gotten a really bad live action adaptation (Liam Neeson in *Batman Begins* and Matt Nable in *Arrow* both kicked ass), the version we got in *Gotham* played by Alex Siddig is by far my favorite Ra's... sadly there were a couple plot points involving him that went nowhere, but aside from that he was perfect IMO.

Actually I was genuinely surprised by the twist in the theater sin 2012 even though I'd known the Lore since before Begins came out, actually I didn't know about Ra's obscure Son. However because begins had already changed much of the Ra's lore and because TDKR simply was a damn good engaging movies I simply accepted what I was being told and face value and didn't question.
Which is how good Film twists work, it's not about how how theoretically easy to guess it is, which is why they don't work as well in TV, the being given a week to think about it between episodes in why TV shows can't prevent the real answer being guess by someone.
And people knew about Liam Neeson being Ra's already in begins because it had literally leaked, no one simply naturally guessed it

My favorite versions of Talia are the ones where she is shown to be loyal to her father but also genuinely have feelings for Batman/Bruce. It gives her more character. And my least favorite versions, including the version that is the topic of your video, are the ones where she is depicted as being a little too loyal to her father or just plain evil. The latter example that I am referring to is the version of her that was shown in the DC animated movie universe. In Son of Batman, she was mostly fine but in Bad Blood she was a little too… and this is probably just my personal problem… she was a bit too generically evil.

As evidenced by the very fact that she dies with the belief that she succeeded where Ras Failed and yet she didn’t. The league was decimated, she died, Bane died, and as we are shown Batman saved Gotham. Everything she set in motion he countered. It’s fairly obvious by the coming true of Alfred’s dream that Bruce ended up with most of his fortune, less what was used to set up the orphanage, and what was left to Alfred.

It's a depiction that could have easily been nothing but the "lotus blossom": the young, innocent, but also seductive South Asian woman (not that I'm complaining!). But Slater managed to make Talia clever as well as sexy.
Talia needs to be in at least one more Batman film. I think of her as "an evil Princess Jasmine," and that's my favorite Disney princess, so I've been fantasizing about Naomi Scott in the role.
