I finally bought silicone to make my own little pumpkin molds! I am so excited!! 🧡 I am not sure how much of a difference it truly makes, but when I went to college for special effects they taught us to pour the silicone from a very tall height of about 2-3 feet away from what we were pouring it into, that along with the slow and thin pour. Needless to say it was very difficult to aim it correctly 😂 but it may help reduce bubbles in any very detailed/deep molds just in case anyone out there was struggling 🥰
If ever you are out and about and find some. They have bandaid scissors with a blunt end that would be perfect to cut off plastic cups. Oh that pumpkin. So nice. I have resin that I've been holding onto. I need to get busy.
I love making silicone molds but...I don't use the expensive stuff. I've never used resin. What do you think about UV resin? Great job..thanks for sharing!!
Heya, Soal! What silicone do you use? Smooth on is nice but is hard on the wallet! I personally prefer two part resins to uv resin because it lets me get a solid cure all the way through opaque casts, but I do use UV resin exclusively for some things, like something that I need cured immediately instead of waiting for the chemical reaction to happen.
@@backtoearthcreations I just use the silicone out of the tube. I seem to be able to get nice details with it. You roll it around in soapy water before using it. It doesn't look pretty at all. Does the job tho. I like the money savings for sure. Thanks for the UV resin info!
Whenever my husband asks me where something is, I intone, in my most dramatic voice, "It is SOMEWHERE IN THIS HOUSE", and then he moans tragically, because it is probably lost forever.
You had a fantastic summer????? Summer is not halfway yet... summer is until half September... the beautiful days had yet to come... and people going on Holliday... wauw... summer is 3 months...
Can't believe Mattie went back home already. It seemed like you just picked her up. Time flies. Love what you did with the pumpkin and crystals.

So how difficult do I think it would be to try this with a full size pumkin, like ones that are sold around halloween
I think the same difficulty, but a lot more expensive; thats a lot of mold compound and resin!

Oh my goodness you used Mountain Gems Catalog page (Shame)😉
hehehe, it was an older catalog, I swear! (and I had already gutted the spine of the catalog for making miniature books, so waste not, want not?)
There are crystals that color
