Will I know how to stream after watching this?
Yes!
This actually fixed some issues I've been having with heavy frame drops and OBS overloading. Thank you!!
You too huh?
Is anyone else mic just on loop forever?
OBS is just terrible. I have a 7900 XTX and a 6800 X 3-D and no settings. I can find to stop stuttering, pixie and blurriness.
Having same issue. I try 4k/6k/8k bitrate even at 720p60fps and still badly pixelated. I duno wtf to do sadge
This video would have been a TINY bit better, if you had adressed what resolution you are aiming for, BEFORE talking about bitrate. That being said, baller video - thanks!
8000 bitrate is not for everyone, for non affiliate / partner 6000 bitrate is the max, iff you set it on 8000 your streammanager wil say the stream is unstable ( bitrate to high )
You are correct, but you can use 8000 bitrate if you check the box that I showed in the video that says ignore streaming service encoder settings. You do not need affiliate or partner for it to work. You can ONLY set it to 8000 though, if you go ANY higher it will default your stream down to 720p.
@@hammerdance if i do exactly as you say, i still get the unstable notice 🤷
@@R1CHARD82.it depends on the graphics card you are running . It’s like between AMD and nvidia
@@SuspenceF00L_Gaming 4080😉
@@R1CHARD82. you will always get the "unstable notice" I stream in 8k for a while now and to verify you're streaming in 8k bitrate click the cog wheel of your stream Advanced > Video Stats > Playback Bitrate [8000]
When i fight bosses or something with much movement I get the stream kinda pixelated.
With 3500 bits can I stream at 720p 30 fps?
Also i had preset to P5 and Turning with Ultra Low latency
Changing this to P6 and High quality fixes this? Also changed to Lanczos 36 samples instead of 16
can u make a video about a high end streaming quality and how to do so? i got very expensive high end dual pc setup and somehow all the vids i watch always make my stream still feel choppy
I have different settings then you - for ex: in my cpu usage I dont have P1-P7, and in Tune i dont have 'high quality'
What version is this? I am 30.2
thanks
Just a quick note. Your sample rate should probably be set to whatever your PC default is so there are no device conflicts. In a lot of situations (especially older setups) that's going to be 44.1, but if you're using anything newer, whether it's an Audio Interface or a USB streaming mic, it will probably be 48.
Cool but be careful guys , if you have not a good connexion , not 8000 bitrates ... and no 1080p resolution . Thanks for the video
7750 ?
Yo what do u think my issue is if i dont have the same boxes as you on obs like where you a certain box i dont have it at all is is because of my lack of a pc my device is a desk top gaming computer plz reply
what an amazing video thanks man bit long tho fell aSELLP half way through, ps nobody cares about the sponser
not even joking i went through the whole video and forgot to click apply. :((
If my monitor is 1920x1080 and I play at 1728x1080, should I put 1920x1080 or 1728x1080 in the Base resolution?
when are you going to make another part to the content creator in 10 days playlist?
Very soon! The second half of the series will be finished within the next month or so
Thank you compadre !! As a new OBS user v30.1.2 (64bit) I had Video issues replaying last night's live Streaming April 26 2024 Stagecoach Country Festival stage acts (very delay choppy video/audio sound ok) I'll record tonights stage acts of April 27th 2024 & compare hoping for video sync with audio. Side note: hoping these setting can be used to my daily ZOOM meetings. I THANK YOU for your time and instructions for making life a little easier & joyful for us all.
unless you have a higher gpu and card like a 40 series RTX otherwise its going to affect your frame rate. no bueno dude.
For the 8000kps is it better to put thank 6000? Is it just a better frame rate setting?
@Hammer Dance this might be an incredibly stupid question because all pros use this to record their gameplay. I play MW3 and im competitive and i have reached a very high rank, i'm not that great with pc yet, MW3 bans people for anything third party, but everyone uses obs to record there gameplay. is it totally fine for me to install this and record my gameplay tonight?? I wanna get some diamond lobbies gameplay on MW3 and i wanna just record my gameplay. Thats fine right? please lmk and sorry i just have had a bad expeirence in the past with downloading apps i dont have a lot of knowledge about.
Most definitely, OBS is just a recording software it does not in any way interact with the game.
Chatted with u last night on twitch (I'm ROD720TV). question 4 ya... every other tutorial I've seen says 6000 for bitrate. Why 8000 for u?
Also, if i use a series x, can my base be 4k and my output be 2k?
So if you select ignore streaming service encoder recommendations like I stated in the video, you actually can bypass their limitations and run it at 8000 (and yes this works for everyone, not just twitch partners)! Most people don’t know about this trick but it does work and makes your stream even sharper and more crisp.
Best quality? When you get given encoding lol
Do these settings also work with streaming on Kick? Or just Twitch and RUclips?
Works for kick as well!
I need help. I updated obs to version 30.2 and i used all your settings, Now when i record it stops and say encoder error while recording no such file or directory. it worked fine before. please help me bro.
The information are solid
and i really like the way you use the word "Crispy" 11/10
Awesome concise video. While I already had a lot of my settings correct, your video helped me figure out a long time problem with OBS eating up resources. That being my "Process Priority" having been set to high. Thanks so much!
Incredibly helpful man! Been running the same settings for 4 years, amazing explanation of all the current nuances to upgrade my quality !
My streams look good when i am live but when i end my stream and i go back to watch it on twitch it looks terrible can any one help with this
Had a couple of settings differently but defiantly a helping hand of a video. Good job hammer 👍
No, it's still worse, i need a good pc. :(
In obs 2:44 my stream maximum video bitrate is 51000kbps . How much bitrate should i put in output encoder setting and end my upload speed is 95.66 mbps . And my streaming is sooo blurry and not clear 😢
My stream on twitch has a yellow/green tint :/
Is it possible to record the live stream locally for later editing?
yes, just hit 'start recording'
@@AnubisXYZ Thank you!
YOUR BROKEN MY LIVE STREAMING
I was multistreaming on twitch and kick with the settings you have here, but about 30 mins in I got disconnected from my game and both streams went down. It’s almost like I lost internet. Any clue what might be causing that? It doesn’t happen when streaming just to twitch only when I multi stream. My upload speed is 30-40 mbps.
Do people still use 2 pc's for streaming? i have a ryzen 7 7800x3D with a 4070fe and 32gb ram and OBS will crash after about 2 hours of playing Escape From Tarkov
last month i am getting obs freezing the whole pc. help? anyone? i am trying these settings so hopefully fixes prob. any suggestions welcome. windows update is fine. i have fans on to keep cool so not that
I want to ask a question, PLEASE ANSWER.
You definitely know howspeed, right?
So I want to ask how to create an additional layer to prevent sensitive videos/donations (avoid being banned)
For Ishowspeed, sometimes when playing Ome, he covers it with a picture/photo to be safe + mutes the sound on the screen. How do you do that?
Hello Hammer I came across your video and my OBS differs from yours in the output "rescale output" setting. you have yours set to disabled/1920x1080, but mine only does 1280x780. Why is this??
Retitle the video to "Ultimate Noob Guide". Most of these settings were left to default save for 2-3. Waste of time.
No one forced you to watch😂
you could've just helped yourself rather than trying to waste your time by watching a person who has a better computer than yours.
Wheres your tutorials since you know so much?
my problem is the size of the screen where all people see what i let them can see, there are little black line on top and below the scene, like see the black background (don't fill all screen with the scene). i set 2563x1440 (my monitor size) and output like 2048x1152.
how to do with ipad?
how did this video make my streaming worse...
i changed my monitor to 1440p, and when i changed that in OBS now in the stream people cant change the quality, there is only one option !!
if anyone knows whats the problem lmk
Do we set Maximum Streaming Bandwidth to 8000 Kbps also ? Or leave it on auto ?
Gave absolutely nothing to me, i feel like i have changed every possible setting multiple times already. I don't know what to do anymore
how come i don't see the theme option? =/
Well i'm streaming since around 2015, i always struggle with artifacts due to bitrate. I had the exact same setting as you, but i still have big artifacts and the streaming is too crispy and too blur at the same time, i'm lost
I use controller on pc so I have like 70+ keys available, keyboard is just there for looks like a dining room table…
I bombed last night! I hope you can help!!
is twitches max bitrate for affiliate 6000 or not
and should i do 8000 bitrate or a little lower like 7500
RESULTS: 1st let me say to all seeing this "Very good added information & much needed education overall". From my post yesterday I must say I did learn a thing or 2. Of course not all your settings will fit everyone's custom fit to their own set-up. From my results last nights Stagecoach live streaming results were basically the same as Fridays night before with my "generic" settings when the video ran slow and choppy with major delays & the Audio came in 100% load & clear .... for an Amateur that is. My 1st guess was maybe it's my older 3-4year old HP Windows Desktop (w/all updates) and it is what it is. If not the desktop then I have more adjustments & testing to do to get better live Streaming Video recording results. Love this OBS software so I'll keep researching & testing looking for satisfactory results overall. Thanks again...
Can We see OBS stream on QGround control ? If it is possible how we can do that ?
When i get home im gonna try these settings. My stream looks good on twitch but when i go to facebook it looks horrible during movements.
IT DIDNT WORK BRO

ty fr helping
what should the bitrate be if you are streaming to twitch and then using multistream plugin to youtube?
faze banks
thanks"!!!!
Thanks for this info. I changed a few things, and I think this did make my streams look better. I am very grateful for you sharing this info with us.
20FRIVE
Hey my stream has like a 10 second delay pls help. I do live in south africa if that could be a problem
thanks I'm not sure why it always says stream unstable on mine, it was perfect before it updated but now not so much...hopefully this helps
It be nice to explain what each and every little thing means because not everyone has the same settings and specs as you do.
I just finished my set up for stream and now trying to learn how to run the stream and your video helps alot with OBS, subs from me, ill keep watching your other videos as well, thank you!
I have a question, for anyone. On the video encoder part, I have x264 and AMD HW H.264 (AVC), I have no clue which is better to use. I have been experiencing lag and dropped frames :(
Select AMD HW H.264 (AVC), choosing the x264 relies on your CPU and is very intensive on it. AMD option uses your GFX card which is much better.
So do you have a setting for a computer with a AMD ryzen 5 with GeForce RTX. I keep getting video encoder overload if I try to play a pc game while streaming . I’ve tried prioritizing the systems but I still get laggy gameplay. It’s not the internet trust me .
Would AmD be better for streaming on RUclips ? Not twitch ?
What are your pc specs? AMD cpus can stream to youtube or twitch but the magic happens with 4000s nvidia gpus being able to gpu encode, that allows your cpu to focus on running your system while you stream and game. Make sure youre not cpu encoding, especially with only one pc and a ryzen 5 which will only have 6 cores and 12 threads to work with. Likely between the game, obs studios, tabs open, spotify, etc your cpu is probably at full usage. If you are not gpu encoding, either purchase a 3000s nvidia gpu OR a 4000s nvidia gpu and use NVENC as a video encoder for streaming. Preferably the 4000s, a 4070 can be found for less than $500 and can boost your frames on 1080 and 2k to double ALL while gpu encoding equal to slow or slower preset on cpu encoding. IF you already have a newer gpu consider a 5700x/3d or 5800x/3d cpu that will be compatible with you AM4 motherboard.
Thanks for the info I swapped from SLOBS to OBS to save CPU space and this helped me not have to remember all my old settings!
what do i do when the only OBS window that will open is the stats window? its kinda annoying me..
Bro this was a very informative video. I just started recording my gameplay and this is the exact settings i was looking for. Thanks!
GREAT video very useful thanks for sharing this knowledge
Where did you get the delorean background?!
this seems more for NVIDIA GPU'S?
this man really made a video where 90% are the default settings
what do you think about nvidia codec av1 ? can you talk more about it? how can I stream on youtube withouy motion blur on my CS2? RTX 4060 with i7-13700
Anyone got recommendations for AMD cause im tired of nvidia settings videos
Well, NVIDIA is the more popular gpu.
For encoders: Should I use NVENC Hevc, NVENC H.264 or NVENC AV1?
I'm using a RTX 4060
helloo, AV1 i think only works if you stream on RUclips at the moment. AV1 is quite a lot better than H.264, it's part of the 4000 series feature set.
@@alesterlan1303 I do stream on RUclips. Is it better than HEVC too?
@@indigoiozzi AV1 is the way to go 👍
disconnect reconnect again n again help
wish ow3ned didnt go online only...
I just started using obs to stream warzone and when I go back and watch my stream I can only hear my voice and not teammates. How do I fix that?
Add output audio in the scene you use for gameplay if that doesn’t work it could be warzone
i dont have as many settings options as you do. what am i doing wrong lol
Ty... Made some of my settings better. We will see how it goes.
first 1:22 is useless info
How to setting non commentary stream?
What are his pc specs though?
reworking everything so this helped a lot. Thanks!
What about 936p?
Should i go for 8k bitrate for 1080p youtube stream?
RUclips, you defos go higher on bitrate. You don't have a bitrate limit, so maybe go like 10-15k
@@AaronScotz i have really good internet, like 1 gb per second. But i want as little delay as possible
@@Hapyfruit Again, go 15-20k. YT you can go crazy
thanks for the help
Thanks for this video ^_^ it helped me tweak my settings to be better
Would love a deeper dive into the overlays and how to apply and set them up💯💯 love your videos ❤
ok, ill give it a shot.
Video starts at 3:14
You've pointed out everything no one else did, thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us. this means a-lot because i'm a new streamer. i truly appreciate you helping us. 🎉 stay awesome.
amazing setup this fixed all issues I had
Still love citing this as an initial source for new streamers on Twitch who seem to struggle with keeping a steady stream going ... yet I did notice that you recommend *CBR*. With advice from many other streamers ( _in gaming, co-study,_ AND _writing streams_ ), I would suggest the following settings, that differ from your videos settings, from those who know how to get an even smoother stream. 😄
Custom Rescale:
> if you want to stream videogames or any moving content at *60fps*, but your PC can't handle it at 1080p, lowering it to *1664x936* will allow the stream to run at close to 1080p quality without any bandwidth or "internet issues" ( _don't click the drop-down, as it's_ *not* _an option! You need to click_ in _the text area and_ *manually* _type it!_ )
Rate Control:
> I've been told that VBR is better than CBR - This also allows your stream to avoid dropping frames as much, as from what I've heard: it uses the GPU more than the CPU, which I've heard CBR uses.
Bitrate:
> 3500kbps for 720p or lower, or 4500 for a 1080p stream ( _setting a custom scale to "1664x936" can still allow for 60fps at 4500kbps without your stream getting choppy for viewers!_ )
I know your video is for helping new streamers, but these settings were recommended by many streamers I've come to know and be a regular chatter for, over the past 5 years since i first started streaming. 😊
Do you turn off hardware acceleration?
Thank you for the help.
