Hey man Ty for the detailed comparison. I got the forclaz just now and will be using it on an overnight hike next week. Keep it up with your videos, awesome.

Seriously good, helpful, analytical video. No time wasted impressing us with your "personality" (as our American cousins are inclined to do). Thanks!

At 00:30 you show the Exos at £104. Where are you finding it so cheap?

thanks for this! My main issue is hip belts not staying put on my three UL backpacks, but nobody seems to test for this. The Exos looks very refined and Forclaz looks a bit ratty and down market, but features and tech look pretty darned good for the Forclaz, esp the water bottle holder and twin-belt hip belt. I like the EXOS pole holders. MT500 costs half the price of the Exos58 here in Canada:160 vs 330 right now.

Wow, that much difference? Get the forclaz. I promise you, its not half the bag. Thanks for watching.

I have a talon22 and One air60+10. I have used these combos for many treks. no issue at all. I do one trick by myself which is.. I use an extra pouch type safety cover at the bottom of the air60. trekkers know the pain when they drop their sack on rough terrain.

in France the Osprey costs around 180€ and the MT 500 is 115€ are they really comparable ?

Things are not comparable because of same price, they are because of type of product. Price is one of the things to be compared as in this case, from my honest point of view.

Neither bag is on my radar but that was a good comparison!

Looking for a new pack and found both of these at about the same price, $140 for the Decathlon and $150 for the Osprey.
Still waiting for the Osprey to arrive, but I've been testing the MT500 Air and it's really nice! I almost dismissed it at first because I tried loading water bottles in the side pockets and wearing it empty, which just had the tops of the bottles jamming into my elbows, but when it's loaded they sit back nice between the elbow and torso.
I'll have to test the Osprey once it gets here, but I think the Air might be a winner just on the extra organization. I like the sleeping bag compartment, huge zip pockets on the side of the bag, Kangaroo pouch doesn't stretch much but it's plenty big, and the huge quick access to the inner is super nice. The Exos is a bit more limited on organization, but I've seen people load the front stretch pocket with tons of gear and it weighs in about 1lb less. Guess it'll come down the the comfort, but it'll be hard to get more comfortable than the Air. Pack really earns it's name with how comfortable it rides.

I chose the exos mostly because the air is about half an inch too short for me. Both are excellent bags.
      Thanks for watching. 👍

@@craigelliott4338 Thank you for doing the comparison. I'm only about 5'6" 167.5cm so I've got no problems with the Air being too short lol
The Exos I ordered is the S/M version so I should be alright. One other thing to consider is the warranty difference, lifetime for Osprey and 10 year for Decathlon(which honestly should be plenty)

Following up on this, I ended up sending the Decathlon back and keeping the Exos. The build quality felt much higher, the weight was lower. It lacks some organization, but there's something to be said for simplicity.
Your initial analysis was on the money

Forclaz mt900 ul 50+10 might be more comparable with this Osprey 🤔

Does the Exos make your shirts pill out? I had issues with that on multiple shirts that I wear and even on a fleece only after a single wear with they Syncro 20 bag and looks like a nearly identical system is used on the Exos 58, too.
