Maby the clutch pedal stop hasn't been bent out the way yet or the clutch fork ball isnt ajusted right. I side step my clutch taken off and only have to push it in 2 inches to shift. I put the pedal to the metal when second yellow comes on and don't lift till the 1/4 is done

  • @williamhouk6880

First thing I noticed underneath that 55's hood was that original masters cylinder and that my friend would be the very first thing I'd be changing over to a newer system for safety reasons w/a proportion valve and front disc brakes. Then refill the entire system with DOT5 fluid. It's full synthetic and doesn't draw any moisture to rust your parts no matter how long your car sets. This will protect your vehicle more than any Paint Job!
    BRAKES WORK that WORK!
love you guys and your videos.

There's gazillions of other really nice wheels out there BUT IMHO there is and never will be a wheel out there that comes within a 1000 feet of being as cool as the CRAGAR SS. They've been around for what,, 6 decades and to date no other wheel comes close to matching the simplicity and good looks of them. A set of Cragar SS on any hotrod tells the world YOU are proud of your car.

Crazy thing sometimes your s10 doing your burnout sounds like top fuel dragster on the video. Just a idea don't know if u ever thought about it, what if u put a defuser setup on the back to help keep the rear planted. Lot of different forms of racing use it on their cars to keep car planted to the road. Also Dad does great work on the carburetor and all the haters have something always to say. Remember anything u do to the truck is only to improve your 60ft and mph. If u go to efi in time people may talk but only cause they wish they was u and have your tuning and driving skill and style. Only true family and friends opinions count. Fans and supporters will always be there. Keep doing u wish nothing but the best for u and your family.

The Music choice's you use F-ing Rocks ! I have to Always have to lift my Driver side of the engine to get the header out !! Your Molly's mechanic, you have to test drive it to make sure it is running in top shape for her next race. So in the end it was a good thing you drove the car & it didn't fail at the track ! ? I remember that pass Molly did in the truck, * I like the stainless Steel rocker rollers over 6500rpm lmao

I commented the same thing I wish there was a way they could have someone just clear coat it, without it being shiny though that to me might look a little funny, to protect it. It just has so much character the way it is. But I'm sure they remember it from one time being nice and black all over so I can understand.

@@ls_812 Bill was talking about replacing front fenders and both rear quarters and the car doesn’t have original paint now so there’s no reason to try and preserve what’s left. If it were mine I’d do it that way and make her beautiful again so she’ll be good for another 40-50 years. It would be a different story if she had original paint still on her

    • @1982MCI
      @1982MCI 3 года назад

@@jackgtx440 it is special to them because of who put that paint on it last time so your right, it probably is more special than the original paint, it would be if it was my car but at some point you’ve gotta make the decision and feelings only protect so much but they won’t protect the car forever unfortunately.
It’s probly a little late too do it now, but if it were my car, I probly would have had the body and pant done and do new paint from the window bottoms down and then clear the top, hood, and deck lid in a satin clear so that the patina from The paint Denny put on in the late 80’s would be protected. That way, bill could still put the new fenders and rear quarters on, have the new paint where it really needs but still have the look as well as the special memories of the paint that Denny put on it and what he means to the family.
The only tricky part to that would be blending the paint on the fender and rear quarter tops before it rolls to the side body cause the paint would be thin in those areas as well but for an experienced painter it won’t be bad, it’s only about 4” on the top of each panel. Then they can have both. Save the memories of when Denny painted it plus the protection of the vital areas the car needs. But at some point you’ve gotta understand also that the paint that’s on there will only last so long and the memories will have been lost also so you’ve got to do something at some point and I’d have to believe in my heart that the memories that the entire car carries far outweigh the memories of what the paint that used to be there but is now gone, carried. Bills at one of those crossroads of life that come along just a few times in our lives when we have to make a decision that to anyone else is as easy as deciding on hamburger or hot dogs at the cookout but to Bills family, it affects at least 5 generations of family members as well as close friends who are as important as a family member so I completely agree with your comment and opinion and it’s an extremely tough decision to make but it’s an important part of that whole families history from about the past 60 years or so.
And it’s just a thought also that came to mind as I was writing this book, I’m sorry for getting long winded, but there’s always possibilities of still protecting memories and reviving the 55 as well. While Denny is still blessed with being with us, and I understand gd probly doesn’t want to take on doing a complete job again, if and when the time comes to it, would the shop be willing and would Denny be capable of coming in and spray the paint on maybe just the top of the car or whatever he feels capable of in order to keep those memories unbroken. There’s still a lot of questions unanswered for right now that can be explored to preserve most of what’s being debated and it’s a hard position for bill and Vicki to be in Right now and pick the best scenario for them so they can keep making these irreplaceable memories for years to come.
I have the same issue with these types of decisions and am going thru something similar on a vehicle that is special to me cause it was a special vehicle to my wife. It doesn’t carry near the significance that the 55 does but it is special to us and that’s all that counts at this point. Regardless of what it means or looks like to anyone else, it’s important to us for the reasons that affect us. The older we get, the more of these “little” things we run into and the harder it becomes for us to make the change. Anyways, I’ve said enough, but I think we both want the same thing for the car which is whatever makes Bill and the family happy overall and as long as they are happy, then I’m ecstatic over it all!!
Take care brother, and be safe out there!!
PS: do you happen to have a 440 GTX by the way? What year if you do? I’m a huge Mopar fan myself and have had several Road Runners over the years from 69’s to 74’s. I absolutely love those cars !!

@@1982MCI i hear what you’re saying. When I left that comment I also didn’t realize the paint was literally falling off.
Yes, I have a 67 GTX. It’s been in my family since I was 8 years old. I’m 40 now. I built the car in my early 20’s and my dad did all the paint and body. He’s passed away now little over 4 years ago. Building Mopars is what me and him have done my whole life so these cars are extremely sentimental to me. We used to very competitively race a 69 HEMI road runner back in the early years of the Year One F.A.S.T. series. I currently also have a 70 Charger that’s been in the family since I was 8. Grew up in the back seat of that car. My dad rotisserie painted it and finished the paint work 3 weeks before we unexpectedly lost him. The car is still on rotisserie waiting for me to finish it. I also have a ‘66 Belvedere II that me and my kids also play with that’s been in my family since 1990. All this stuff is so sentimental. Probably overly so. The 66!Belvedere is like our family’s version of SRC’s 55 Chevy. That car is faded, has some rust, but we absolutely adore it. Me and the kids are putting a 383 and 4-speed in it over this winter.
