What's up i have been out the youtube game for a year, can you anwser a question for me? Is the R8 a good upgrade for the M50 i would like to stay in the Canon eco system, From everything i see its the best way to get into full frame, thanks keep making the great content.
The R8 is the Canon m50's father on steroids. Has some overheating issues and lack of 3rd party lenses but never the less is an amazing camera at the price point.
That has more to do how you set everything up physically and not so much with the settings but I've never shot any stop mostion so don't know much about it.
Hey Fulaan is there anyway to get good video out of my kit lens? I'm having trouble making anything look good out this lens. I am super slim on money so if you say it can't be done what lens would you recommend for my r10 for me to use to make my videos look good?
Much of the result has more to do with lighting and composition. You can most definitely get good results from the kit lens but if you want something better the following lenses are good affordable choices. The RF 16mm f2.8, the RF 50mm f1.8 and the RF 35mm f1.8
If I want to shoot my vertical videos in horizontal. is it okay to do it in 1080 60fps for slow motion if i want to use it on instagram? or will the quality be too low?
@FulaanCreative Thanks for your reply.. because I hear most people say that you should always film in 4k, especially if you want to turn horizontal footage into vertical. the only problem is the r50 only shoots 30fps in 4k so I can't do slowmo

I am looking to purchase a camera for the first time and after watching a lot of camera reviews, it's come down to the Canon RP vs R50. I want the camera for social media and RUclips for the most part. For social media, I want to get that smooth skin look that we see from some older cameras and in movies and one of the reasons I want to upgrade from my smartphone is because it makes my skin look like shit. Which camera (and lens to go with it) would you recommend? For more context: The price is not an issue and I could buy a much more expensive camera, but I want to get as much value out of my camera as possible and I want it to beat the smartphone cameras from next 10 years and also all of the 5-10 year old DSLRs. I'm looking at the used market for the RP and can get one with the 50mm f/1.8 RF-mount lens for $800-850 and I think that's all I need in terms of lens options. On the other hand, the R50 will cost more to get the same focal length and aperture alternative ( rf - efm adapter and 32mm f/1.4 lens) if I'm not wrong. Also I like the RP design better. Whereas, the R50 has better autofocus, 4k, and the option to charge the battery while in use. So I'm very confused on which one I should get. Questions I have: 1) Is the amount of light the only difference between full frame and crop sensors other than the crop factor itself, of course. I mean to ask that if we use a faster aperture lens on a crop sensor, will it give the same result as a lower aperture on a full frame sensor? For example, when using 50mm f/1.8 on a full frame vs using 32mm f/1.4 on a crop sensor, will they both have the same image quality or does the full frame have any other advantage that a better lens on a crop sensor cannot replicate? 2) When recording 1080p, will the RP provide a better quality video than the R50? I mean the looks, details, and feel of the video and not the autofocus which I know will be better on the R50. 3) How good is the oversampled 4k on the R50 and is it worth sacrificing a full frame camera to get that 4k? 4) Which of these cameras would you buy if you were starting out from the beginning with no lens already available? 5) Is there another option that has all the good things I mentioned about both of these cameras? (Basically the RP with digic X processor)
Many times the full frame option will do better in lower light situations. If you like a sharper cleaner look the r50 will give you that. If you prefer a softer filmic look the the RP can give you that. The image from the RP is very similar the image from the EOS R which the majority of my videos were shot with. Regarding your question about the differences between full frame and crop sensor it is more on a camera by camera basis these days as there are many new crop cameras that are just as good or better than full frame in many ways.

As a beginner I just wanna know, is R50 best for a recording Product videos?
So long as you have a good lens on there and good lighting most any modern camera will do great.
Question, would you be able to do a music video with the R50?
No, it doesn’t allow you to record music videos.
How do I change my shutter speed?
Place the camera in manual, or aperture priority and tap the icon that says 1/xx. change it to 1/48 or whatever shutter speed you need.
If I want to shoot my vertical videos in horizontal. is it okay to do it in 1080 60fps for slow motion if i want to use it on instagram? or will the quality be too low?
Should be fine. Most likely overkill in quality for IG
