Pat was really lucky to win Wimbledon 1987. 1. No McEnroe. 2. Becker out to Doohan. 3. Connors exhausted thanks to Pernfors. 4. Lendl couldn’t volley. Following year Becker took him apart.

McEnroe anyway wasn’t in form to win it,the same goes to Connors,he was top-player,but hadn’t won GS since 1983,Becker couldn’t blame no one but himself,Lendl even on grass was top, he played 1986 final against Boris and plenty of semis,so will well deserved by Patrick.

Diomedes The Great I would call anyone that wins a grand slam a legend. If you have such scant respect for achievement, don't follow tennis

      cash was a legend.
      3 grand slam finals.
      another 3 semi finals.
basically finished at 22 with snapped Achilles and herniated disc injuries.
he would have won 4-5 slams without these ailments.

      Diomedes The Great
Cash was phenomenal during his very short career. Had he not had so many serious injuries, he would have been mentioned with the greats.

As conveyed in the interview there is a genuine respect for each other. Pat Cash indirectly assisted Mats win the Australian Open by allowing Mats to train on his own rebound ace court in Melbourne. The rebound ace surface was new to Australia at that stage and Cash had had his own tennis court resurfaced in preparation for the Aus Open.

If winning Wimbledon doesn’t doesn’t make you a legend then what more do you want? Has Pat Cash done something to meet your scorn?
