Youngster, sir, for a mentally impaired woman graduating at university is thrice as difficult, as for less messed-up folks (except me). While inability to handle ANY criticism sure spoils stuff, we all gotta make a living, somehow. Indie works do not have overpaid misanthropes to filter their BS and eye-candy half-finished games at premium prices, after all.
I personally think it's a good game on it's own merits. The cases are overall pretty good that requires a different thinking to lacuna that each had a case separated into one specific location whereas this needs you to uncover information various locations. The narrative isn't the greatest, I agree - but I can engage with it as a deduction-detective game. It mostly just pales as a follow-up to Lacuna. I wish it had been more, but we're not exactly spoiled for good deduction-detective games - I don't regret buying this.
Just finished the game and loved the story and the characters. For me it seems as if you are trying to compare it a bit too much to Lacuna. These are two very different games and they are supposed to be. Yes, the UI could get improved and especially the fast travel system is confusing to say th eleast ... but you can get used to it. Also I did not experience a single glitch as those you demonstrated in your video.
It's unfortunate that this goes to the list of games that have impressive visuals but not everything else is to par. Other games that fall on this include other impressive pixel art games like Eastward, ANNO: Mutationem and Sea of Stars (Which contrary to what may seem in critic reviews, has a big problem with story and general writing, as well as gameplay becoming dull quickly).
Appreciate your take but have been waiting for this for a while. Steam users seem to like it so far, I am getting it and hoping you are wrong at least from my perspective
This is a real shame. I do remember the BH demo being surprisingly rough especially when both the demo and full game of lacuna felt so poiished, taut, compelling and well executed. I was hoping they would polish up BH in the in between but looks like it was too much. Here’s hoping they turn it around.
I think they overfocused on some parts. Like the overwhelming evidences. Yes, you can see every evidence you've collected throughout the game, but no case (or at least no section of any case) has more than 5 pieces of evidence relevant and most of those are going to be near the top. So far (and I'm towards the end) I've only had one case where I had to go hunting for evidneces collected earlier (that one case did have me stumped, I did actually have to look up a guide for that one and even then it took me quite a while to even figure out how to work backwards to get that solution). It's not as good as Lacuna, I agree. The narrative also isn't blowing me away. As a mystery-deduction game taken on its own merits, I don't have much to complain about.
It seems this might be one of those games where the majority of the work went into the visuals and everything else was treated as an afterthought. That's very disappointing since it came from the same developer as a great game like Lacuna and maybe there is a small hope that if this game gets backlash upon release, the game will get improved at some point and turn into something worth playing. At least it looks nice for the time being. 😆If people want to play a game that uses a great mix of 2D and 3D art with a sci-fi theme that is actually a lot of fun to play, then I recommend checking out ANNO: Mutationem.

Really glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the heads-up...recently bought Lacuna on sale on your recommendation...backlogged so far but I was hoping this would be good too.

It seems like a classic case of a talent developer biting off more than they could chew. I'll check out a few more reviews.
I love point and click pixel adventures. this one is lovable since first glance. peak of it's genre.

I heard the game is great I don’t understand this review 😢

ouch...that was like watching someone act foolish in the ring with Mike in his prime and be...dismantled lol. Unfortunate.
Thats a shame. Lacuna is an awesome Game. 😢
Oh my
That's a real shame it's a flop. Maybe their next game will be good and it will be one of those, "every other" game type things 🤷♂️
