McAllen sure has a lot of businesses!
From catering equipment for restaurants to Danny's porn shop to Gold Direct and then the big dominating Chase Bank building.
Must be that Texan Oil money that keeps them propped up🗼 🤣

I'm from another country, where are all the people? Why are the streets empty?
They are in their homes in the suburbs
They are working or inside their homes with the air conditioner on full blast. Very high temperatures. It can get up to 45.56 Celsius in the summer.
Most likey it was a Sunday. Downtown McAllen is closed on Sundays. That part of Texas called The Rio Grande Valley has nearly 1M people.
McAllen looks to have a better and far more urban setup than even Houston does, a city practically 50x its size. All the palms they’ve planted have made it look tons better. At least they make efforts at beautifying their own city. Houston does not and it seems like they do not even care. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And that’s just sad. Houston should be embarrassed. And a sadder part is that it seems to not even care. There seems to not be much of an effort to make this city more urban at all. The new housing being built KINDA falls into new urban……kinda. But every single commercial development is built in an extreme suburban style with TONS of widespread parking. A virtual sea of parking lots and strip malls. And this is America’s FOURTH LARGEST CITY.
Shameful.
