10:03 Jack, in Poland w is pronounced a v - 'e' is pronounced like how you pronounce it in 'bed'. It's not 'loo'... However with Lion the w at the end has a bit of an 'f' mixed into it. 10:50 - again, it's a v sound not a w. And an o with a line above it is pronounced 'oo' (but not in the same way as English, like you did in lew, hard to describe)
Easiest way to learn Polish is to just say as it is, Polish alphabet doesnt change the sound depending on the world, o i always o, u is always u etc etc
Other notable places that switched driving sides from left side to right side (since World War 2): Yemen (1977), Ghana (1974), Sudan (1973), Nigeria (1972), Sierra Leone (1971), Myanmar (1970), Iceland (1968), Ethiopia (1964), Newfoundland (1947). Plenty of other places switched during and before WW2. Too many to list...
9:10 That is true, West Virginia is known to be the poorest US state by far, with regions like deep Appalachia where many homes are literally falling apart.
6:06 I think this is out-dated, because i'm pretty sure that Tesco is no longer operaiting in Poland. And if it is then its probablly just a couple stores because i remember that there was this announcment that they are closing in Poland and since then i haven't seen a single one.
on the British Isles thing. I've seen a lot of Irish people online basically dislike the whole British Isles thing as it still connects them to Britain and instead just prefer it to be called Britain and Ireland.
The cuisine of Suriname and Indonesia are popular in the Netherlands for similar reasons to Indian being popular in the U.K.: they are former Dutch colonies. I have had some excellent Indonesian food in Amsterdam.
From 3:57 to 4:13 in the video for Nebraska, nickname is the cornhusker state because we have lots of cornfields, and we're in corn belt plus that's our college football team and also we Herby Husker as mascot. Plus, Jack rarely talks about Nebraska (I'm not being rude here. But I'm politely showing him that we're are here.)
I would assume that the divide in Poland has to do with German history, since northern Poland was a part of german empire for quite a bit. But not sure. Also, w in polish is pronounced like the english v, and ó is like oo. So the endings are -oov, and -ovo. Also, lew is pronounced like lev
4:35 who’s gonna tell him that this doesn’t have anything to do with ‘recovering from the holocaust’? All the Jews just moved to the Israel when it was founded in 1948
Mf he’s definitely right. When 6 million people of one demographic were murdered and their numbers severely shrunk to this days, they have not recovered.
3:02 That's Wisconsin, Wyoming is WY. Also I wasn't gonna comment (I'm always impressed that you can keep any of the states straight, If I didn't live in the US I doubt I would), but then I remembered that comments are good for the algorithm. Keep up the good work, I always find your content entertaining.
Hey Jack, I have a video idea for you. I recently bought a few flags off of temu and I thought it would be cool if you did the same and made a video about it. I bought a USA, UK, and Germany one and they are all good quality for the 2 dollars I spent on them. I hope you see this and I love your videos.
@0:06 Note on that one, the term "Great Britain" can refer to either a political or geographical entity. If referring to the political entity, it includes the entirety of England, Scotland and Wales, as said in the video. But if you refer to the geographical entity it refers to only the largest island, so it omits Isle of Wight, Anglesey, Hebrides etc. that are part of the political entity of Great Britain.
8:22 (CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, I DON'T WANT TO SPREAD MISINFORMATION) That was Terrare, a man famous for his insatiable hunger who lived (I think) in the 1700s. By his teens he could eat the equivalent of a quarter of a cow carcass in a single day. He was described as having such a bad smell that he "couldn't be withstood within 20 paces." During a war that happened, he was tasked to eat boxes with messages in them, then he would pass them in mint condition. he once snapped a cat in half, ate it, then spat out the fur and bones. He may or may not have eaten a human baby before. The odd thing is, he was a pretty healthy weight.
