The commentary is great because it clarifies things so well, but it’s odd because we all got so used to you not speaking that it’s almost like a different channel now. You were like the Stig of welding haha. It’s all good either way brother!

As an aircraft mechanic, for my brake I have the fingers still somewhat sharp but have pre-bent different thickness pieces of aluminum that fit over the fingers to give the proper bend radius for a given thickness of material. That way you can still bend thin sheet relatively tight but thicker material with the thicker cover piece can be a larger bend.
My personal belief is that Aaron has narrated every one of his videos, but forgot to add the voice over before uploading them... for years.
There was a ton of great info before, but the new voiceovers definitely pack even more great information. Thanks.

Those things take a ton of tedious work, just like making headers. I can understand why you don’t like making them anymore. Especially when you can buy a mass produced intake and port it. Although that can suck too. Either way, there is a reason they are so expensive. Thanks for the tips. 👍🏻

So, this comment is 100% unsolicited. The tig button is an excellent investment. I've had it now for maybe 4 yrs and it helps make tig enjoyable by making it easier to position yourself. Went through a few pedals, each smaller than the previous one, tried the various remotes but the button rocks. I coupled it with my 200 Dynasty DX, and whenever I get something new in the next year, the button will be moving over, or I'll get another which is more likely.

Great video! The green flame looked like 5356 filler. Of course if this was a real and complete intake some guys might have a concern with hot cracking in this application and this intake is likely to see service temps over 150F. So maybe a filler with less than 3% magnesium could be the weapon of choice if this was a functional part….
thanks for your videos always great, better with the voice over. Maybe I can shear something. Cutting grooves or edging try one of the hand or palm routers for woodwork, can get various tungsten bits with bearing guides, the wood ones work perfectly on ally.

Sounds like a dynasty by Miller just a guess never used one, first time seeing your videos nice job and I’ve been TIG welding right at 40 years. Back in the early 80’s we had to put tick alum. on fire bricks preheat and start welding I love new inverter technology
Inverters are definitely way nicer. I learned on a linde, which was a sweet machine, but these new machines are way better.
Yep I learned on a Miller Syncrowave with the footswitch back in 1995..I remember it being so awesome when i learned to TIG weld aluminum after being a stainless steel welder for years..good stuff here !@@Mike-lt6sj

Timely video. Working on a intake myself at the moment. What kind of/size torch are you using? I'm considering picking up a water cooled torch. Don't think my ck17 can really handle the amperages I need to tie into the 1/2 baseplates.

WELL plenty of american v8s of the older type like chevy smallblock and big block the intake ports are very close the smallblock is pretty much spaced like you did on that plate but its awesome to see how you'd do it
